    Tips and stuff I've learned.

In my experience most people by the coast don’t have much to lose, so they’ll either be very friendly, or just try to kos. Folks inland are usually very geared, and don’t want to take the chance of losing their hard found items. My tip is to try and establish communication only if you have accepted the fact you may be killed instantly. Particularly on Xbox, where the game chat toggle isn’t working correctly, as such, most are in party chat if there’s more than one. In my experience, most people will talk to me after I’ve spoken in game chat, even fully geared players. It really comes down to the roll of the dice. Sometimes it’s best to let players pass through, depending on their mannerisms while watching. The player to player interactions are some of the best moments you’ll have playing. You just never know who you’ll bump into.

    KoSers are alive and well

Hope you have a beverage ready, this is a bit long. Those instances are very tense and situational, particularly when it comes to trying to establish communication. I personally have come to accept the fact I’m going to be killed more than I kill. Not for being outmatched, but for taking the huge risk of trying to show friendliness. There has been many instances where it’s payed off, more so than not in my experiences. However, there’re those who do not care, they thrive off killing the kind players. That’s DayZ.. The various experiences I’ve had solo, and with others have been some of the best in all my years of online gaming. One recent event happened which left a lasting memory was when I was with two friends in Gorka. We had all just met up, and stated looting the various buildings. One friend ended up getting kos by someone. I ran to the building and dropped the guy, then started clearing around the area. My other buddy asked if I was approaching the police station, I said no, and just like that shots erupted. As I pushed the station my buddy tells me he got him. Upon entering the station I see the guy regain consciousness. My friend and I holding sgks lined up on him ready to see if he makes a stupid move. He gets into game chat and asks why I killed his buddy. I told him his guy killed him on sight.. His demeanor quickly changed and said he’s going to have to talk to his friend about that, they were apparently playing hero’s.. I had tied him up and was debating on taking his M4, been looking FOREVER for one.. I decided since he was cool to repair it for him, empty his mag, then give it back. My original buddy arrived to the police station and the guy apologized for his friend. After he was safe, I told him to follow me towards a field. I told him to keep running north, and that if he stopped or turned I’d fire. He thanked me and ran off. These types of experiences are what makes DayZ so amazing. The fact they are so rare makes it even more satisfying when they happen.

Lock each character to a single server?

Missed opportunity.. You’ve got to bend a devs ear. We need bears!

Lock each character to a single server?

Your comment just struck a fantastic idea. What if you guys were able to identify and locate duplicaters, imagine being able to spawn a nearly invincible dev bear into the game.. You guys would have complete control as you hunted down and mauled all the duper’s, then destroyed all their exploited stashed. As further punishment, there would be a visible odor/gas surrounding those players for a predetermined amount of time, which would randomly spawn an AI version of this bear which would only hunt down those players.. Hey, a guy can dream.

    Quick test on 1.02

To Op: I’m downloading the update now, excited to try out the new goodies. The darker nights, along with the new sound effects should make for some fun!

    Quick test on 1.02

I remember reading that suggestion a couple of times. I believe you are referring to your point of using a serial number for each mil rifle/weapon. I thought Impulz responded, essentially saying it would be a coding nightmare. I don’t envy whoever would have to do it, though if it was viable hopefully we’ll see something along those lines. Nobody else, aside from pushing for character locked servers, seems to have any real solutions to the problem.

    Xbox Update 1.02

Excited to finish downloading and give the new content a try. Thanks for the hard work team. It is appreciated, even if we don’t always say so. Pretty disappointed to hear duplicating is still a problem. Here’s to hoping it’s at the top of the priority list for the Xbox team.

    “I want an AK”

After well over a dozen hours searching, this is amazing..

    “I want an AK”

The “don’t fiiirreeee” part killed me.

    “I want an AK”

I know man, I was crying from laughter.

    “I want an AK”

This was the video I stumbled across of theirs, felt very appropriate for me and I’m sure many others: I can’t believe I’m only finding them now, absolutely incredible.
  12. Nayte

    where to find them?!

I’m not so sure it will be a complete fix. On their mixer stream they mention it being a temp fix, which may not completely solve it, unfortunately.. We don’t yet have the FAL/.308 on Xbox.

    Ingame Stats

This I’ve mentioned this a bunch of times with friends. A simple survival timeframe along with the “you are dead”.
  14. Nayte

    Okay so this happened.

Good stuff, I love reading about theses types of encounters. To me, that’s the way you’ll get the full DayZ experience.

We need mor FPP servers in US.

    I second this motion.

    Unpopular Opinion

I think as time goes we’ll able seeing much more in the way of updates/patches. Hell, even now when comparing the Xbox port to the what, 6 years of pc development time, we’re not looking all that bad. Also, more income doesn’t necessarily translate to quicker development. It could lead to more experienced devs, though not always.

Lock each character to a single server?

We’ll keep ya locked up, only letting you out during blood moons.. These scenarios would be very interesting. I would imagine we’ll start to see “alpha tribes” start to form.
  18. Thanks for the info OP. Here’s to hoping the duplicating issue is solved once and for all.

Dayz Xbox One X - Worth it?

Is recommend checking out some Xbox one x gameplay online if you’re interested. Personally, I’ve been loving it for the hundreds of hours I’ve put in so far. Its vastly improved on Xbox when compared to its infancy stage on pc sa. There are bugs, though I’d be willing to bet you’ll get your money’s worth out of it.

    Persistence is broken

That’s all well and good. The point is to do it legitimately... You have a barrel stashed where you can loot back up in minutes? That’s great. If however, you decide to dupe to gain an unfair advantage by exploiting the game, further impacting the loot economy, you’re an ass. I don’t care how many copies of the game you’ve bought.

    No servers

Try clearing your Xbox cache, sometimes it stores old temporary files that may be corrupted. Just hold the power button on the console down for 5-7 seconds. Then try to log back in.

    Repeated game crashes

Have you filed a bug report in the feedback section?

    Wolves?

Funny enough I’ve died from a pack there. My team heard me shooting at Zelenogorsk with my 12 gauge, though those beasts took me down from full heath in a couple of attacks. I’ve a new found respect for them.
  24. Nayte

    Persistence is broken

Of course, everyone’s always innocent. Until the devs issue an official statement, I’m taking it all with a grain of salt.

Lock each character to a single server?

Why not just add a dozen or so character locked servers to the already existing ones? That way folks have a choice on where and how they want to play. Also, if we end up getting private servers, that’ll certainly help to foster a particular community some groups may be looking for. RP anyone?
