I really hope this wasn't you...

For what it’s worth, I appreciate the info you provide, and will never become heated discussing these topics with you. The dev live stream for Xbox, they mention there being two teams working together as we’ve discussed, however the Xbox team is located in a different office. Check out from 3:30-4:50 if you’re interested:

Is this game officialy dead ?

Funny, I see you a lot in the “kids” section of the forum, if you actually believe that...

    More Dupers Streaming on Mixer

Really not surprising what people will do for some clicks and attention.. I’d be careful about linking their stream, as it could fall into the “how to exploit” category, which is frowned upon on the forum.

They absolutely have a common core structure, though as you mentioned, they did fork out, this is where and when variations in development could, and frankly should differ. From following other games which were developed and ported to console, using the same exact development structure, the pc version was not held back by the progress of the Xbox team. Often times, the pc development would be months ahead of where the Xbox version was. There would be talk of both versions being nearly identical, though this wasn’t always the case. The vast majority of features were, though there were differences. I really cannot imagine the pc team sits down to brief on what’s next in development, then say oh no we can’t continue any further until the Xbox team catches up. That would be ridiculous.

    Okay guys...WTF?!?!?!

I’d love something like this to be implemented again..

    Cant find pliers anywhere!!??

I’ve seen quite a few in those construction buildings with the rotary table. Really, they can spawn in any construction type of location, and they are very easy to miss. I’d recommend looking in first person, as the vicinity radius is not nearly as useful anymore.

I see this point tossed around a lot on the pc forums.. I’ve read that the game was reverted back to its core state to implement the new engine for .63. I think some pc players just like to use the Xbox development (which by the way, is being developed by a separate team than the pc version) as an excuse. Particularly odd given the amount of time it took to get to .62 in the first place..

Developers cater to people with no life outside of this game

Exactly, that’s where my “unlike” point comes in. I could pop in 7DtD, L4D, SoD, Dying Light, ect., however this game is in a league of its own for that very reason.. No hand holding, incredibly immersive survival experience. Indeed Hard grinding? Are we still talking about DayZ here? There’s really nothing to grind for. We scavenge, sure, but not grind. I don’t think there’s enough characters for me to fully explain the range of emotions and experiences DayZ conjures up..

    Met new friends

It’s those little moments in between that makes for great experiences.
  12. There’s absolutely no shortage of kos players. There are however very solid and unique moments in between those instances, that makes dying frequently feel worthwhile. Dying constantly is something one has to not only expect, but accept. Once you become one with that fact it makes losing a decked character sting a little less each time. Personally, I’ve found that when I open up a dialogue with another player, typically (and I use that word lightly), folks have been receptive to being friendly, when they otherwise may have kos. Some have said that to me shortly after speaking to them, mentioning if I didn’t say anything they would’ve shot. A big issue I’ve found is that most players who are running with another tend to be in a party chat, and usually don’t want to take the risk of switching to game chat, which is a bit clunky currently. Be weary of approaching more than two players.. @pilgrim* gave you some sound advice when it comes to navigation. The more time you put in, the more familiar and easier it’ll become. I can’t stress the use of iZurvive enough. As far as survivability goes, it really comes down to a number of factors. What your play style is like, do you want mil grade gear, do you want to try and interact with others or become a hermit in the woods, and of course luck, among many others. I’ve had characters last from 15 seconds (watch out along the coast road by Elektro) up to around 50 hours of play time. I’m usually on quite late EST if you’d like to team up some time, feel free to message me.

Developers cater to people with no life outside of this game

There’s nothing wrong with being a casual gamer in and of itself. Where the issue lies is when the large majority who tend to be casual gamers push for a particular game to cater to their constraints, effectively changing what the game was at its core to a, IMO, less satisfying and dumbed down experience. There’re already tons of casual style games out there for the picking. What makes DayZ special is the exact reason that it’s a hardcore survival game, UNLIKE any other on console. Making things easier to obtain would essentially remove any sense of meaningful progression, or uniqueness of a character.

    Games freezes/crashes

Yeah, same thing has been happening to me too, on numerous occasions. I went into the bug report section to make a ticket, then saw one after searching that was a month old. No response, so I bumped the ticket. Hopefully we’ll see an official response sooner than later. This is pretty major for anyone who would like to actually interact with others, and not just kos.

    WARNING OLGA

I remember the first time a buddy and I got an ADA going, he sat in the drivers seat and immediately slumped unconscious. Then fell out after I performed cpr. It was absolutely hilarious.

    Animal Pelts

I’ve used the boar skin to make an improvised backpack. It gave me a very woodsman look, pretty nice actually. I haven’t tried using any other animal pelts though. From what I’ve read about earlier pc builds, there was a time when you could tan the pelts to make leather clothes. I’m guessing we’ll see that at some point.

I Don't Want To Sound Like A Broken Record, but...

According to some seasoned pc players, duplicating used to be an issue, though not anymore it seems. On Xbox back on .63 there weren’t any issues finding M4s and AKs. You could go into any mil base, hell even a checkpoint, and come out with one or the other. I even remember finding one in each shower stall one time. Maybe the spawn rates were too high, then got reduced? In any case, a bit before 1.0 launched is when the duplicating became a problem. So much so that the devs stated on both of their Xbox live streams that the duping is causing issues with the CLE.

I Don't Want To Sound Like A Broken Record, but...

I’ve got my fingers crossed we’ll see private/community servers soon. Maybe I’ve got some rose tinted glasses from watching early pc rp vids, though those style of servers seem like a dream. Sign me up!

People dupe because most modern gamers are simply impatient. This has been, and will always be a hardcore niche game. I and many others who appreciate that do not want a DayZ Light. You can slap whatever label you’d like on that. At the end of the day, this is not a game for casual gamers. Period.

Things I'd like to see added/changed/removed.....

Thing is, I wasn’t able to catch the part where we danced and chanted within the summoning circle around our rice offering. I was the only one who saw him, my character was the clairvoyant of our group.

Developers cater to people with no life outside of this game

Since your point of a lack of mil grade rifles has been beat to death with the answer of duper’s, allow me to move on to the next point of yours. This game was not, is not, and will not be the type of game where you can pop on for 30 minutes and expect to get anything meaningful done. That’s not how this game works. It always has been a time sink, and it always will be. There’s absolutely no need to have more mil sites, there’re plenty about. Want one close to a spawn? Go for Cherno then head to Balota. As you mentioned, you like the fact it’s sort of a mil sim survival game, then mention you don’t care for fast paced shooters, but then call those who invest time in this game “no life kids”....really? Just because you “don’t have the time”, now you’re completely contradicting yourself by saying they should cater to those who “don’t have the time”. It sounds like perhaps you should pop in CoD instead...

I have... https://gamerdvr.com/gamer/nayte/screenshot/12035901 He said him and his kind aren’t happy with the duper’s. So they’re done being friendly, and just kos now.

    Tips and stuff I've learned.

Well, when you find those “duped” stashes, you make sure to destroy them, ok? All we can really do is hope the Xbox DayZ team find a permanent fix.

I suppose if you’re assuming everyone is duplicating, or using duped gear. I’ve never run with anyone who does. I can only speak from personal experience, and my gear is all found.
