Honor amongst thieves?! Hahaha!

There must be some type of algorithm the devs could put in place that could detect if a player is repeatedly hopping servers at mil type areas. As opposed to spawning in for the first time, or re-logging if kicked. After x amount of times doing this, that player could be flagged, and receive some type of warning/suspension. Or, if the devs get creative, put into their own special server, filled with hundreds of zombies in close proximity to the player, with only melee weapons to be had..

Frankie videos were always my favorite. Sada is pretty entertaining as well. Baby Nades has some well put together content, though he runs more kos in his later series.

This cannot be overstated enough! We, as console players, need to make sure we’re careful how we shape our community within DayZ. Too many of our games are nothing but mindless killfests. This game encourages a more diplomatic and social aspect that’s been drastically needed in our games. Holding someone up, and gauging their demeanor, is extremely fun. Those split seconds could mean the difference between death, and a long time survivor partner. You just never know who you’ll run into in DayZ. The possibilities for RP is almost endless. I like to play as if I’m in the game, and make my decisions accordingly. Welcome to Xbox and DayZ, good luck out there!

I had the player kicked message several times within an hour of trying to play. Then got hit with the character locked in database # attempts remaining. I was able to get in, though I waited until a server just got back online.

Dont losing loot on the ground after server restart
Nayte replied to DuffMasterHomer's topic in Xbox
Great advice. I’m going to start keeping better track of which server I’m on. Especially since we currently have no idea when a server will be resetting. -
Can i make players voices come through headset
Nayte replied to foz 28's question in Troubleshooting
The standard cheap headset from Xbox is designed only to provide voice from party chat. Prox chat plays through game sound, so it won’t work through that headset. I would recommend you invest in a gaming headset. Not only for your concern, though it greatly helps with immersion, and being able to better detect where shots and footsteps are coming from. -
This should work. Hold your gun in hand, scroll to the inserted mag and press Y. Then go to your inventory, hover over a different mag and press B.

I 100% second this. Not sure if pc has such servers, though a handful on Xbox would be great. Sure, we could just go into first, though you’d be at a huge perspective disadvantage to those who wish to track and kos. Very similar to how PUBG managed their TPP/FPP servers.

Buried Loot Stash Disappear if Character Dies?
Nayte replied to Kynero1's topic in New Player Discussion
Yeah, I read that dry bags, hard cases, teddy bears, and cooking pots can be buried. -
I haven’t noticed much of a difference. Probably just bad luck, not to mention the fact that everyone is going to be making mad dashes to all the high loot areas, which may lessen the loot available for a certain amount of time.

Yes, these are great ideas. I saw that Arma 3 mod from a Frankie video a while back. Something like that on a more PvE server (likely private server option, as you mentioned) would be a blast. This game has so much potential, and we are finally graced with this goodness on Xbox. No more drooling over videos for years.

Overall, I’d have to agree with this. That said, if they were to implement a solid moral/karma system, it would be interesting to see such stats on a player. Something like, Heros killed: Bandits killed: Bambis killed: That way, if this info was public, one could easily tell how a particular survivor is conducting themselves.

Oh yeah, I’ve been killed on sight at mil bases and checkpoints. It’s certainly not a bad thing to be extra cautious, though I often find it fun to take risks, as it can get boring after being fully geared for so long. I held a guy up at a mil base when I was playing solo. I said hello, then told him to holster his M4. He ended up dropping it, then waved hello walking out of the tent. He didn’t have a mic, though after a brief talk I told him he could grab his rifle back, we gave thumbs up and moved on. Last night I was making my way into a new town, when I came across two guys crouched in the street. I hung back by a bus stop, and watched as they both ran nearby. One decided to come and loot the little bus stop I was watching them from. Yet again, I took the risk and said hello. The guy who ran past, started to make his way back to me, as the bus stop guy was frozen in his tracks. I told them to keep their distance, and could see they were both armed, one with a pistol in hand. Keeping my M4 ready I showed myself, and tried to communicate. Of course, they were in party chat. Asked if they needed food, then another round of thumbs up, and we separated. I feel like creating these types of interactions is important in helping to shape the community into a more dynamic experience. Instead of the standard killfest tripe we usually have in online games. The social aspect of DayZ is truly what creates lasting memories.

It’s like the old adage, nice guys finish last. I know the feeling, as I’m usually the one who tries to befriend others, which inevitably puts you at risk. I have met a couple cool guys in a DayZ club. One told me upfront that he and his crew usually play the bandit role. I told him maybe we could play another time, as I enjoy the risk of playing the hero. The other guy was somewhat similar, as he was telling me to shoot on sight at military bases. Funny enough, I stumble across a decked guy at a mil base carrying a backpack. I attempted to communicate, as my partner was frantically telling me to shoot him. After a short time I see him run around the corner and we start taking fire from backpack guys friend. My partner is killed. I kill one, and the other finishes me off. He told me I was too nice... I guess in some scenarios, you really can’t take chances. I agree that it’s valuable to talk to those who want to team up, as it’s a good way to gauge their intentions. Ones demeanor has a funny way of speaking truth through potential lies. Those two guys gave me no such hesitation. As a result, we had many fun hours together. I was even able to sway the bandit to the hero side. Well, at least while he was with me. Hopefully you’re able to meet some other like minded individuals out there, though you may have to sift through some undesirables in the process. I

Yeah, last update wiped characters to prevent the locked in database issue.
-
This I’ve joined multiple servers after the last update, only to be kicked within 40 minutes or so of playing. Then being met with “character locked in database, # attempts remaining.” Luckily, I was able to log in. I can’t wait until server times are extended!

I’m with you, more options are always a good thing.

Damn, 8 items in your quickslot?! I’ll have 3, 4 tops, just for that reason. It’s also a good idea to put your best CQC weapon first. So holding Y pulls out that weapon when unarmed. Maybe they’ll add button mapping for Xbox at some point.
-
Yeah, my rule of thumb in DayZ is to avoid ladders all together..
-
Don’t forget to pair with a delectable Rasputin.
-
That sounds like fun. I’m going to be keeping an eye out for them.
-
Definitely looking forward to anything that adds to immersion. -fishing -day and night cycle (longer server times!) -ability to lean -bows -vaulting -bicycles would be interesting..
-
You guys know you can just cycle through equipped items by simply holding Y for a second? It’s easily done on the fly, and it only takes a split second to un-equip using the radial menu.

The developers likely have internal systems in place to monitor the game and it’s server through their end. Providing constructive feedback here on their forums is a good way to show them what you, and others, think of how the games being developed, and how updates/patches are working.
