Ah, so they’re evolving to the point of releasing pheromones upon an attack, much like a swarm of bees.. We should be worried.
-
Maybe it’ll work in the top slot of your inventory. That’s usually how I use the compass, as I try to keep only a few essentials in the radial.
-
You should create a formal bug report with all this detail, and whatever else you can think of. Here’s the link: https://feedback.bistudio.com/project/view/2/ I made a report back in September over the game crashing frames when using certain optics. Got a message from Geez saying they were able to reproduce it, and scheduled a fix for a future patch.

Yup, I can vouch for this guy. :)

It would be nice if BI could implement an algorithm that detects if a players base is where you are going to spawn in, then it just shifts your spawn location nearby.
-
100% That’s exactly what I do as well. Run in the opposite direction you hear them, as they’re likely en route to you.
-
He’s likely on PC. To OP, try to avoid automatic fire. Dealing with wolves on semi-auto is better, as your shots are more precise, and you save that precious ammo in your mag.
-
Thank you! Very much looking forward to this content. Keep up the great work!

Well said. I’m aging myself here as well, started off playing the incredible 16 bit console. Those of us who’ve been gaming since the early DayZ seem to have a bit more appreciation for games, not to mention patience.
-
Pure speculation here, though other devs who have ported pc games/updates to Xbox in early access usually had about a month or two between getting console up to par with pc. That said, titles in early access on Xbox tend to take about a year to reach full release. Personally, I wouldn’t mind BI taking that amount of time to add most of the features in, and fully optimize the game. It’ll only serve us in the end.
-
That’s an option, though I like some ambient/environmental sounds. Being able to select from a few different menu backgrounds would be nice too.
-
Well there’s your problem.. Torches don’t use batteries, flashlights do. I guess you could tape a torch to a rifle, just be wary of the flame. yuck yuck
-
Completely agree. The title screen is absolutely overkill. They should tune the wind effect down 75%. Maybe add some light wave crashing, with the occasional seagull caw.
-
Of course the devs are going to be much more intimately involved with pc, as that’s where all development takes place, then gets ported to Xbox. Xbox is an entirely new venture for DayZ. Plus having to iron out issues which may seem minor, and likely wouldn’t be an issue for pc, though Microsoft QA is much more strict in what they’ll allow to pass through. This, I believe, is a big reason why BI is hesitant with promising x, y, and z. If an issue arises, and Microsoft QA says no, they’ll have to postpone or scrap said feature. You can imagine the fallout that would surely ensue.

Constructive criticism is not only fine, it’s welcomed. However, let’s try to avoid personal insults. Those tend to get us nowhere. Keep it classy.

You might want to check the bug report section, and see if it’s been reported. If not, it’d help creating a report with as much info as you’re able to provide. Here’s a link to that section: https://feedback.bistudio.com/project/view/31/

Yeah, I’ve encountered this since DayZ launched on Xbox. I’d see rain before my friends did within the same server. They thought I was pulling their leg, then 5 minutes later...
-
“Is it too late for this game?” No. Is it too late for some players? Absolutely, and that’s ok. You pretty much answered your topic in your first paragraph. As you mentioned, we all knew the development history the developers have had with this title. Even still, we decided to partake, in the hopes that we will get the game we all know is possible. It’s simply a matter of time. I’d strongly recommend folks who are getting fed up with the amount of progress to put the game down for a bit, try playing something else for a while. Often, a good break will do wonders.

They just pushed a patch. Try my aforementioned method.
-
Were you able to download the patch? If not, try going into “manage game” on DayZ. The update should be available there. Also, clearing cache might help.
-
Thanks for the patch info. Very happy to see the scope issue has been improved. That one was game breaking.
-
After you do the hard reset, select the “manage game” option under DayZ. You should see an available update. Not sure why some of these patches need to be manually downloaded.

Hehe, same here man. Rode out on my mini bike, and was able to pull a U-turn though died just before making it out. At least my bike rolled out to the edge of the rad zone.

I never used batteries in the ACOG, though they make a difference with other optics. In the PSO-1 scope it turns the reticle red. Without one in the reflex or cobra, there’s no reticle at all.
