    Persistence is broken

Variety is the spice of life. I find no issue with those who want to play the hero, bandit, hermit, or even the mindless kos players. What is an issue are those who use exploits to gain an unfair advantage over others who play the game the way it was intended. Duplicaters being the worst of the mix, followed by the “meatball” glitchers. I could care less what their sorry excuses are for doing it, and will rejoice when they complain about being “unfairly locked out of servers”, or “rolled back 90 minutes”.

    Hey there!

Had to try.. I can cook up a fine steak for us. Perhaps some delectable mutton. The offers on the table, along with those choice cuts.

    Hey there!

So what are the chances I’d be able to solicit you into playing DayZ on Xbox??

    Duping is killing the game

    Ban. Them. All.
  5. Generalizing an entire nation based off an assumption that English speaking players that kos are all American shows you deserve no honor. What goes around comes around..

Character rolls back and inventory disappearing

Interesting, is good to know they’ve implemented some preventative measures already.

    Persistence is broken

Ah, the old others do it so I will too argument, eh? Also no, I’ve never duplicated before. Worst I’ve done is server hop before the 1.0 update, looking for mil rifles that don’t seem to exist. Personally, I wouldn’t care if 90% of the Xbox player base was issued some sort of duping punishment. Maybe it’ll smarten them up.

    Playing dead?

It’s tough to read tone within text, though I was being facetious. Seems like a funny experience from both ends.

Hehe, rummaging through the guys stuff while he’s taking a cat nap...you monster!

Character rolls back and inventory disappearing

From what I’ve heard this usually happens when attempting to duplicate. Or at least when going through some of whatever the steps may be. If that’s the case, they should up the roll back to 3 hours, maybe even send the character back to the coast. Guess we’ll have to wait for an official word from the devs.

Guilty by association? If so, I like it.

    Wolves?

Don’t worry, you’ll encounter them when you’d rather not..

    Hey there!

This is easily one of my all time favorite games. If you check my Xbox profile you’ll see I play just a few games..only a few.. DayZ is a very special hardcore survival game, that does not hold your hand. You’ll spend hours just trying to get your bearings initially. You will also die, a lot. If those things don’t turn you off, you may be the kind of gamer who will appreciate DayZ. Keep in mind most of those Xbox “reviewers” likely have less than an hour played. Not to mention the fact it was in preview, and people were expecting a polished AAA title. I’ve got around 450 hours in DayZ and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. It’s absolutely worth the investment if you are about a true simulation style survival game. There’s no instant gratification around these parts, and that’s the way we like it.

    New player

Oh I understand, just messing with ya. He seemed like a cool guy. I told him they must have been friendly bullets. I got killed twice the other day too by kos players. They are rampant.

    Silences

This I fund using a pistol with a suppressor as the most viable option to quietly kill infected without alerting the whole horde.

    Bases

I like the way you think.
  17. By “duping” I’m assuming you mean fixin it, which I’ll argue is the biggest eyesore DayZ has going for it on Xbox. Me, I’m sure the Xbox team for DayZ is working as close as they can with Microsoft.

I don’t know... one of your boys tried to kill me at that farm as I was doing the friendly jump, trying to get close enough to use prox chat. He’s lucky I’m a friendly survivor.

    Dog tag concept

Would be better to just be able to check someone’s pulse, like it used to be on the earlier pc build.

    I respect your honesty.

    Tyre repair

Oh that’s why.. You’re trying to repair tyres, when you should be repairing tires. In all seriousness, they aren’t working. Haven’t tried duct tape yet, though wouldn’t be surprised if that worked, as it’s the fix anything and everything item.

Watch out if you use game chat

I had this happen to me for the first time the other day shortly after encountering a random at a mil base. Lucky for me he was cool, and waited for me to log back in. If you are able to reproduce it, I’d recommend sending a ticket to the bug report section. I’ll see if I can’t get it to happen again.

Welcome to the best survival game you’ll experience. My first tip is to embrace death. You will die...a lot. Once you come to terms with that, and not getting too attached to your character (which is tough), you’ll not get as frustrated. As mentioned, the coastal areas (spawn points) are usually teeming with players. My experience has mostly been positive when reaching out to others in game chat (you currently have to hold down on the d-pad to talk). Once you find yourself a backpack, compass, food, water, and some sort of melee weapon, you’re ready to trek inland. I highly recommend downloading the iZurvive app, it’ll make navigation far easier as you’re able to reference your location at a glance, as well as points of interest on the map. The most important thing is to have fun, and try out different play styles to find one that suits you. Good luck out there, and feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Losing character when logging out of server

Try logging out of the server again. When you get to the main menu press Y, I believe, which should prompt you to select a profile. Choose your profile and hopefully your geared character will show up. I’ve had to do that a couple of times before.

    Interesting Encounters

Last night I had a couple of what I might consider close encounters of a DayZ kind. The first instance was at Zelenogorsk. I was looting the barracks looking for an AK or M4. As I’m making my way through I see a guy outside one of the windows with an AK pointing at me. I quickly run into the bathroom and hop out of party chat, and tell the guy I’m friendly, and there’s no need to be pointing guns. He hops into game chat as well and is quite excited to hear someone with a mic. We chat for a bit, and I end up lagging out while he’s still there with me. The guy had every opportunity to end me, though didn’t. I gave him some water and we went our separate ways. I then started to make my way toward Troitskoe military. Along the way I decided to stop at the civilian barracks by the farm in Zaprundoe to check for my mythical rifle, as well as tip off my water. Its then I notice a guy crouch walking between the barns. He then stops to eat and drink. As it seemed he was by himself I decide to approach him. I was too far to use prox chat so I did the friendly strafe and jump. The guy sees me then raises his rifle. He proceeds to pop several shots at me before running into the barn. I spoke to him saying it’s really not necessary to kill me as I’m just saying hello. I pull out my SK and am ready to take this guy’s head off. Just then he speaks in game chat, telling me he was sorry for shooting. He tells me his friends died from zombies and he’s trying to find his buddies M4. I mention it was cool, and that he should know I was watcyh for a bit, and could’ve killed him several times over. I decide to help him look for his friends gun. Less than a minute later I find it, decked out with an ATOG and flashlight. He was quite happy about that. I mention my friends and I were thinking of making this sever a home server, and that we could potentially work together. We go our own ways. Shortly there after I receive a message... It was from a guy @xjgbxdarkman I’ve chatted with on these very forums. He tells me it was his M4 I found.. What are the odds? The level of synchronicities that occurred last night was uncanny. How about yourselves? Have you had any similar types of encounters?
