I have been in numerous places generally in the UK and France, I am a fan of astrophotography and seek the places that are as far from light pollution as possible. There are a few places in Wales listed as dark sites for taking photos of the sky at night. I can't speak for the Northern parts of Europe, but I would compare the darkness in the video of an experience I had in a cave with no light sources and I couldn't see anything. It's a shame really as I have now resorted to playing daylight only servers, maybe I should request 50% if my money back for only being able to play half of the game

I see what you are saying about its dark and it is working as intented, if the intention is to make the game unplayable then yes it is working. But I have been in numerous situations of no street lighting and in the middle of nowhere, this is not true of being in the dark. I'm all for immersion in games and I think this is a bit over the top. I mean you can't see the back of the players head! I think all this will achieve is to push the players away from the game. What was wrong with the version before the update? They could have toned the darkness up a bit and still made it immersive and I don't think changing servers or playing servers without darkness is a viable solution to this issue.

I updated my game yesterday on the experimental servers and in the darkness I am no longer able to play the game. The night before last I was playing and during the night cycle I had no issues and was rather enjoying myself, I have only had the game on pc for a few days. Since the small update yesterday I have found it near enough impossible to play during the night cycle. I had a similar issue on the xbox during the night cycle and put that down to my capture card, however the same issue seems to have creeped into this version. I tried it again this morning and it worked this time. Not sure what is different this time around but it's working so that's good enough for me. Thanks for your suggestions

Yes over 1.8TB of space, also I am installing it in the same directory as the game install

This has probably already been covered but, everytime I try to update steam DayZ to the experimental servers my update says cancelled when it finishes. I've only had the game a couple of days on the PC and the Stable version works fine. I've tried the update like 5 times now and get the same result everytime.

It would seem that I have issues with my display, an Xbox capture that clip I made shows a hell of a lot more when I watch it on a different display. I made a torch out of rags and sticks on the xbox

I play on a monitor via elgato game capture HD, maybe that has something to do with it. Changing the brightness, contrast and gamma had little effect :(

I've had to turn it off, it's unplayable. I've walked for around 45 minutes, I have no idea where I am or what is around me. how I havemt walked off a cliff I dont know and I can't even keep a stream viewer for longer than 5 minutes.

Yeah but I can't see a metre in front of me even with a torch. What's the challenge? See how long you can walk without being able to see anything before you get bored? Crafting a torch with a stick and rags helps a little but I didn't buy a game to not be able to see it.

Not sure if this is an issue for anyone else.......but I can't see sh*t in the dark, litterally nothing. Its like waking around with 10% vision, I have tried adjusting my ASUS ROG Swift monitor settings but it makes no difference. Even with a flashlight it improves my view by about 5cm. The game is boarderline unplayable for me like this.
