    Sound levels / Footsteps

    This is getting abit crazy now, I've literally sprinted up on dozens off people and they didn't even turn and look at . If I didn't speak/shoot they'd have had literally no idea I was there. I use a decent headset and even I can only hear people sprinting up on me a few feet away max. I understand they almost want to encourage PvP for testing purposes ATM but tbh it feels pretty gross and basic when there's no nuance, you can just sprint about with max stamina build character owning squads by repositioning and charging people whilst there completely unaware your stood ontop of them.

    Water purification tablets

    I've had it occasionally, I've found that ifyu purify the water then log and rejoin the water won't keep it's purified state & that sometimes tablets themselves will bug out and not work completely but if I drop them and grab a fresh batch they work again. So I'm with you they seem very hit and miss, thankfully the uncooked food & dirty water only causes vomiting and slightly increased water Intake for awhile. But if/when they implement harsher consequences for food poisoning then this could become a bigger issue.

    Think it's gonna take awhile, saw a member of media team saying it's being worked on but that it's a difficult exploit to fix. The aiming bug of character model getting misaligned and scopes being blocked by backpacks have been in PC build since 0.63 released months before xbox launch so you may wanna modify how long you'll be waiting for it to be fixed, the dev team had got there handsful with these particular bugs\exploits as trying to fix them probably messes up twenty other mechanics somewhere. Patience is to be required with DayZ , it'll be another four years before we earn the right to whine louder than the PC player base lol.

    You have to switch to game chat, the devs have never stated it'd work simultaneously. So you have tomanuLly leave party and go into game chat then push down on D-Pad. Make sure you turn the ingame push to talk off before switching back to the party chat though, if not you'll bug out prox chat so that if you wanna hop back into game chat it will no longer work till you restart the game. Also if you need fast answers on any dayz topic use the search function as there's already several threads on prox chat. Also the frequently answered question sections very useful for mechanics questions :)
  6. I know I said it's a misunderstanding from there side as there are no green or black ballistic helmets in the game currently other than the ssh68. Most devs and social media teams working on SA Dayz are Czech so a lot gets lost in the language. They will most likely have thought the OP was asking if they'd be in the finished game. Plus the dev teams announced several bug fixes that didn't work so you can't expect all information to be correct as multiple people are workin on multiple builds of the game etc, it's easily done when teams get moved about from project to project it's hard to know what's in any particular public build as you never get to play the game you're workin on because sleep is more important in the five hours your not working lol

    All coastal towns are just PvP death zones, even if your trying to be a peacekeeper or hunt bandits , it's to hard to tell who is who, especially with big groups of players as there's always one nut job offing fresh spawns even in a group of people trying to be chill and friendly. Any big city on the west side if the map such as Zelenogorsk is generally quieter ATM due to pretty much all south western new spawns bein removed in 0.63 which kinda sucks tbh as that side of the map has some great loot , mil bases and cities but hardly anyone other than experienced players already kitted venture that way. But no matter play style, RPing or how your dressed, coastal cities are flat out KOS the majority of the time unless it's freshy to freshy contact lol. ive met over ten seemingly friendly players all over the map the last few days and not a single one of them had a microphone , if it was any other player and not me , they'd be dead right now. A lot of people hating on the KOS and heavy PvP attitude ingame but running around in party chat not communicating that there friendly instantly when bumping into people and wondering why they get lit up.
  8. I've been to every military base numerous times and have 15days of playtime accrued already. Not seen a single black or green ballistic helmet other than the ww1 ssh68 helmet. The dev probably meant that in the full game there is black green ballistic helmet, in there offices they have a build containing a lot more items and mechanics that we don't currently have. I'm calling it, devs either wrong or misunderstood the question, we don't even have spray paint ingame so there's no way to even spray the UN helmet another colour and unless there spawn rates 0.00001%, so low you'd never even see it , I doubt they exist right now.

    NWAF death zone.

    So after a visit up north to the Northwest airfield I lost two friends with two SVDs but managed to rack up 6 Kills against players logging in inside the ATC And industrial tower in irdee to snipe at other players or server hop for loot. i don't usually KOS but if a couple of guys are in full camo sporting SVDs and ARs with scopes ontop of a vantage point I'm gonna fulfill there wishes of combat. Thankyou random four and two man squad for the gift of two fresh SVDs for my friends when I next meet them on the coast, the fights were fun and I nearly died a few times but sitting up on vantage points and server hopping all day apparently isn't that good for target practise.

    I agree, ful little novelty gun early spawn tho, but if you've found the rounds for it , you've probably got your hands on an AKM instead. The sawn off version does look sweet though but you'd be better off with a sawn off mosin once the hacksaws back in.im interested in how the weapon spawning will change once more guns are added back in, I'm assuming that finding the requisite mags & ammo will be tougher once similar guns/items won't spawn so close or frequently when there spawns get shared out. Think trade & comms will increase once it's necessary and more convenient than looting for hours, right now you can be geared in an hour or less which is breeding a KOS attitude. I love me some PvP but the game feels abit easy modeduring this test phase

    Why no love for the IZH18?

    Will be a sneaky little starter weapon once the hacksaws back to make it a little sawn off version. Has one shit kill potential with a good heavy organ chest or head shot so definitely not to passed up if your gunless but better off in your back pack rather than on show as some doosch with an AR might pick you off just for carrying.

    Xbox announce upcoming M&K support

    So yesterday the xbox VP announced over twitter that mouse and keyboard support was coming soon to xbox, firstly I'd like I state that it'll only be for the game warframe initially and that it will be a game studios decision whether to allow the use of mouse as keyboard in there game & it'll be purely there decision whether M&K users are placed in separate servers than controller users for there games, as developers will be able to tell what peripheral your using. Im interested in what you guys & girls would think about DayZ supporting M&K On console & whether you think if they did it should only be allowed in separate servers? My opinion is that console shouldn't have mouse & keyboard support at all, which obviously isn't goin to happen. But that when it does come that developers are completely obliged to create separate servers for both. It has been proven that a M&K user will be consistently more accurate and be accurate faster than a controller purely due to the efficiency a mouse offers over a thumbstick, I feel that this alone would warrant separate servers. but as stated that's just my opinion and im more interested in yours, so fill me in peeps. What do you think?

    Xbox announce upcoming M&K support

    I too feel that over this and the next gen consoles we will see a slow movement of more people buying M&K as games allow it. Don't see it being allowed in many Fps multiplayer titles to begin with but over time I expect to see more separate server options for different peripherals on console but definitely think mixing controller and M&K Is a bad idea for balancing. But for games like dayz, heavy inventory management and RPGs plus command and conquer style games would benefit from more keys and faster more precise cursor movement.

    Thrill is Gone

    Can be very fristrating, I don't KOS but some people will kill any chance they get even if your holstered & haven't seen them yet. I'll always try and talk to people unless in a military zone or large city then I always scope out the town from range before going in and avoid people . If I see fresh spawns or being killed or squads executing people they get killed or avoided depending on ammo count and upper hand positioning. not everyone is instantly hostile, try running a semi geared rig at the coast and help fresh spawns with water and food etc by looting boats. Great way to find friendly people , just watch out for the squads. But a silenced 45. Pistol can work wonders on a bad bandit squad ;)

    I'm chill dude, games not even been out 2months. Fallout 4, battlefield 4, R6 Siege etc etc took like a whole year or updates to iron god awful game breaking bugs out and they were supposedly triple A titles from gigantic studios with thousands of people on the dev team. All of them were great games & still are but until you get players to play test modern games it's almost impossible to find these bugs. Take DayZ for example, it's bullet mechanics are more complex than BF 4 & Siege put together , it's has background sickness, temperature, blood level mechanics operations aswell as a full skeletal stem complete with vital organs for critical hits etc and it's trying to synchronise those across 60people across a 100square mile map whilst calculating animals, zombies, weater effects etc. You need thousands upon thousands of hours played, bullets fired & items picked up & consumed before you can track bugs in order to replicate and fix them. The hardest part was creating a new engine actually capable of running this game , which we all have now which should enable faster development going forward & the neat ability to run and jump without tripping over a small rock and snapping both legs only to crawl for an hour to your death, so trust the game had got significantly better on many sides in respect to mechanics. People frustrations ATM especially on console is due to the PvP elements being all kinds of janky with reload bugs, total weapon failures, hit registration issues etc, this is bound to cause some salt as nobody likes to feel cheated out of a fair , honest gun fight. But the devs are working on these issues and many others & until there fixed adding more items, weapons etc will just create more or worse bugs. I understand peoples eagerness to move forward but they have stated the plan for the next few months and all going well before Xmas we should have quite a lot of big fixes and quite a lot of new content all going well. and I'm sure a QOL controller refig will be in the works to allow hold breathe, freelook and a true assignment of change fire mode before then too

    How To Actually Quick-Reload With "Y"

    I'm assuming as the buttons only currently assigned are the ones on the controller options menu showing all key bindings ingame. But currently button pushs have the ablility to overlap such as holding LT & Y will complete the reload animation as if your just pushing Y but because L is being pushed and held before hand it causes the bug of a shot being fired for other players to hear and often bugs that magazine causing it to become stuck in the gun making a gun useless. This overlapping of button pushes is probably in to allow micromanagement to work as you have to hold A and scroll left, right and up , down from one inventory to another. My assumption is that the ghost reload is a result of other button combinations interacting not being fully addressed yet so that those combinations can be blocked off and ones required left accessible, but I could be wrong.

    Some word on a controller update would've been nice, I'll wait as long as it takes for BETA to come to console after PC testing. I'm patient in respect to mechanics and items being added back In as that testing will take a lot of time on PC first & the hit reg issues sound as though there's multiple causes so that'll take awhile to iron out. But a small QOL update to just add hold breathe functionality and the ability to freelook which are already on PC Shouldn't be difficult to just assign those functions to key bindings on controller. The data they'd accrue purely from people being able to PvP more effectively in respect to hit registration would be worth it surely. fingers crossed that somebody somewhere is working on these basics in the BI offices.

    Think I've got a video of it I'll upload it tomorrow. It's pretty gross. Legs are tucked up Into body and arms and head are folded in so the torso with weapons on back or in hand is visible. Looks like some kind of flesh droid floating about. My trend who had the but wasn't exploiting but he may have accidentally created it somehow, on his screen he looked completely fine but on mine his model was all kinds of messed up lol

    Shop gonna be open soon? Got a great helm, 2x mp5 mags and a loa if ammo to drop off. I'm an EU Player so it's pretty late here, I'll keep refreshing the forum in the next hour or so in the hope that I can pop on your server as drop it off.

    Dude there's literally a controls tab in the main game menu from day one of release that clearly states tap Y TO RELOAD. no forum membership necessary, just the ability to read. So yeah it's pretty damn surprising the pure volume of people who reload in twenty different and wrong ways on this game

    How didn't people not know that you simply tap Y . Why would you even think you would hold LT and press Y? It's in the main menu of the game under controls for godsake lol. Pressing LT and Y not only fires a single round that only other players can hear but also has a high chance of bugging your gun or magazine out so that all bullets fired won't register hits. I didn't realise how many inept console gamers there were until reading posts in this forum, well done to the original poster of this threads but there's already been about fifty similar names threads already and I still find people in game reloading in the most extreme and counterproductive ways imaginable and wondering why there guns stop working. Surely taking five minutes to look at the controls option in the main menu would have saved hundreds of people a lot of wasted time

    Yeah happened to my buddy a week or two ago, looked creepy as hell . I reported it but I'd advise taking the time to report it also , the link to the bug reporting site is in the forums main menu. The more reports a bug gets the with more details the easier it should be for devs to replicate it, fix it & know how prevalent it is.
