Well I've just played for 24hours solid and my brain can't take anymore of being awake, even thought the internal loot goblin is dying to continue. Good luck BI dev team with hunting out those server bugs & hopefully finding some solutions. Whether you iron the servers out or not by the time I wake up I'll still be loading and adventuring around chernarus

I feel ya dude and trust me I wish it ran better too, but just try and remember game preview is games bug testing essentially , with an update added multiple new larges mechanics & items plus map changes there's always gonna be a tonne of bugs. But truly unplayeable would be crashing out to menu on launch 100% of the time, not wanting to play & report bugs because of increased rendering time & fps/sound hitching isn't unplayable it's just aggravating if games testing isn't your jam. And that totally okay, just take a break for a few weeks , come back & I'm sure it'll be more stable and less prone to cause brain bleeding lol. I'm not cussing you out or deeming your opinion less valid than mine either, if you aren't having fun and want to have fun on dayz just accept that you gonna have to leave it awhile, but unfortunately this is how game preview and games in development to sometimes, those who risk failing big are the ones who stand to gain great success , unfortunately it doesn't always pan out.

Hey thanks for the couple of updates on the thread this morning, the games a bit janked right now but it's not unplayeable aslong as you don't hang around big towns so it's all gravy as far as I'm concerned. I think once the servers are running correctly people will calm down and enjoy testing base building and looting for new items etc, I think most if the negative responses were people who were on 24/7 pitch black servers with the endless rain. I for one have actually enjoyed this update but obviously the fps drops, sound bug etc aren't great but I've seen worse in game issue with other games in testing phase before. oh and server NL 3663933 has been one of the few constant clear skies daytime servers over the weekend. Hope that helps & good luck to the team rectifying bugs etc In The upcoming weeks, all issues will be quickly forgotten by the community once some engine stability is restored im sure.

I've crafted the ghillie hat and ghillie wrap for rifles a few times now. You need normal netting not camo netting and two burlap strips (2 burlap sacks torn cut up) then just combine one netting with a stack of two strips. You'll have to tap RT to switch to the gun ghillie wrap though as the first recipe is the ghillie hat. Hope that helps

Doesn't work for me, shows no range when looking through it. The whole point of a range finder is that it bounces a laser of your target and gives you a digital read out of distance for zeroing your weapon sight. You can look through it but there not read out, so it ain't working. With or without battery.

I like the way your mind works, but if your conspiracy theory were true my respect for BI would actually increase with admiration for such genius tactical trolling ;)

If you want geared PvP go to North west airfield , if you want to be a doosch go to berezino , electro or cherno for the perpetual carnage of fresh spawn versus assault rifle wielding maniacs.

All if seen in status reports and development posts is that there internally trying to think of the best way to deal with this issue. The best way would be placeable safes with combinations for your best loot but I think were a long long way from that being added. And the whole re-spawn radius and base radius mechanic would e a nightmare to implement. Another easy fix would be characters locked to servers to prevent server hopping completely but again until the games full release and stable with full persistency that's not a viable option. It's a tough one but it's safe to say any fix will take a long long time

The headlamp is currently bugged. If worn on head after turning the power on in hands it'll actually shine the light beam out of the back of your head, you can only see it if your playing with another player as even in 3rd person the beam goes directly past your line of sight behind you. But it'll work in hand like a normal torch with a 9v battery combined with it.

There is no fix for this issue in game or by uninstalling and reinstalling unfortunately. Until a stability patch is done it will be a reoccurring problem. There are a few things you can do too minimise the problem, keep a right inventory of items so as not to cause crashes, less items cases less issues & also don't pick up the new shotgun as it's bugged ATM and cause crashes f it's in your inventory. Hope this helps

Yep ladders have claimed more lives than bullets in chernarus lol, was even worse back in the old engine on PC, a small fall or a trip over some uneven ground would cause a leg break and if you didn't have a splint or morphine you were in for a long crawl to help or death lmao. Still though ladders are the enemy and I for one heed your friends advice.

Exact same thing happened to me, servers are buggy as he ATM and there doesn't seem to be a server reset timer. To be fair though the devs did state that persistency for bases isn't a thing yet and that there prone to despawning at random or on server resets. They specifically said don't get to attached, especially as they'll most likely be doing a full server reset after the weekend to sort the constant night and rain out on 99% of servers as that an unintentional bug, plus at somepoint next week I'm sure there will be another patch for a lot of the hugs this update has with fps and rendering. I feel your pain though but atleast we will get a head start in knowing how to build once the game gets stable and releases as a 1.0 version :)
-
Don't thank me too soon it's just started raining :D lol, but atleast it's daytime.

I feel your pain, I've found one of the few servers with daylight and clear skies but the last update is causing so many crashes that I'm spending more time queuing to get back in than I am playing. It seems the masses have also discovered this rare server with a glowing fiery orb in the sky as well, the queues still 30 strong at 3am ;)

I try my friend, I'm not always successful though lol. It's always best to subscribe to all the DayZ social media outlets like twitter, Facebook and reddit. It can be very difficult to keep upto date with dayz info as it occurs. Also the community manager is called M60 RAPTOR. If you search him on the forum and follow him it's always worth seeing what he has to say as it's usually his role to deal with damage limitation when updates go a bit crazy.

My assumption is that BI updated the map to remove some coastal interactable water sources. Maybe to encourage travelling inland sooner or to try and improve frame rates and rendering times. Plus they've implemented antibiotics now so maybe they want to encourage the use of sorry water sources to make people use medical supplies more. It also wouldn't surprise me if they added extra water sources at release to make the game easier for new players for a short grace period but have decided to crank up the difficulty

Yes this is a known bug from the latest update, there are several issues causing crashes at the moment. If your inventory is very full it may crash whilst tying to render all the items in. The games struggling with rendering and fps at the moment. A stability patch will most likely arrive sometime this week
-
Doesn't work, tried that as well as every other combination of button pushes. It doesn't start the Unjamming animation as it does on PC
-
Games bugged after last update, a patch will arrive next week at some point at a guess
-
Oh as Incase you don't know you can change the region in the server menu. So change to Europe and change to slot ascending, it'll be one of the top ones
-
Servers are bugged currently and will be sorted on when the dev team gets back from the weekend. They actually changed the weather so that it'd change more frequently but something went haywire and most servers ended up permanent night with torrential rain. Try NL server ending with 933. It'll be full but trust me its worth queuing as there's daylight and no rain. Hope this helps
-
Yep those one dude. Good luck

Very useful but you better build fast as I got a few walls up with two tents inside, a barrel full of nails and all the tools needed etc, a generator with a construction light. Then the server de-synced or reset and when I logged back in it was all gone. Lol I spent all day building it all and carrying it all. But I knew that it was prone to happening as the community manager did warm us with the update that persistency is buggy and that things have a habit of simply despawning even without a server reset. Was super fun though getting used to building for when it's all stable and working

This is what 10 hours looks like. 20 hours...

I couldn't work out which one was best tbh, they both weighted the same so I went with the folding stock for the look really. Found one burlap sack but then my game crashed and I can't get back to my home server as the queues huge and it keeps crashing me out as son as I load back in so I guess that's my base done for lol. I'll be traipsing around a dark rainy server looking for another sack for my ghillie wrap.
