That isn't what I said at all, I said third party company runs the server farm me but there hired/rented by BI. BI isn't going to build server stacks in rented offices around the world, much more inexpensive to rent them. But they'll have total control of said servers for software/setting updates via a remote access programme. Servers have just died again so guess somebodies gonna have there weekend cut short again at BI , feels bad . Hope there getting a good overtime callout rate.

Basically there 3rd party servers but with direct server synchronisation by BI, this is usually nowadays handled with remote access. You hire the server space but the software running is your responsibility and only hardware issues are the third party companies responsibility. That way mass server settings can be pushed out at will with remote access by the company offering the games service and any issues that arise can be dealt with remotely. But yes now BI are selling there product across multiple games networks and games sales sites , steam , Microsoft marketplace and soon PSN there approach to customer service etc has had to improve, steam is far less hands on with that side As there just a separate sister company to valve & any complaints are just redirected to BI. But Microsoft & PSN Are not only games sellers there games as a service providers so hold a lot more stake in customer perception and after sales customer service as there reliant on positive customer returns, there seen as partially culpable for any unseemly company practises, faults , bugs etc with games studios and games that there in bed with. That's why it amused me that some people though with it being the weekend that BI wouldn't jump on the issue ofservers crashing out. There not stupid, it's the run up to 1.0 release on PC & that in turn will lead to a full release on xbox & then a release on PSN network, this is the final stages of release across all networks so being seen to be proactive, professional & customer focused is the name of the game & you don't want Microsoft rep ringing you at 5am breathing down your neck because there getting stick from there xbox live gold subscribers because there favourite games not working that they just paid for. that's what they've done, a problem arose & it got fixed ASAP. The fact that they didn't officially post anything about it for 9hours was probably a smart play as the last thing you want to do is give thousands of players false hope before you fully know what a problem is and how to fix it. I'll give BI there due, there stepping upto the plate and dealing with the issues & be already seen there communication improve over the last few months, they stand to make an absolute killing across all marketplaces with the right mix of development & customer focused feedback & support. They inadvertently created a game for service product before they even existed really lol, once the games 1.0 on console they could make a further killing selling private servers space on subscription & I'm sure internally they must be thinking of creating a console mod launcher to but that's most likely very far away if coming at all.

Yep hopefully its not a lengthy problems to fix or the community might implode or start eating each other ;)

lol comes into I hate hoppers thread & admits to hopping, the games a hardcore survival game dude. I personally couldn't care less about how you choose to play just remember if you added all that hopping time up and used it for orienteering and map learning then The hopping wouldn't be necessary. And you may not KOS but taking the loot out the loot cycle for legitimate players gets them killed so you may not pull the trigger but you ain't helping that's for sure ;'D . But you do you my man

On a separate not my good sirs , are any of you subscribed to the bug report tracker? I am and my email is blowing up lmao, it makes for good reading. I'd advise following it so you get copies of all bug reports, just be aware that your email account might melt ;'D

Yep been down since 2am Greenwich mean time in the UK. Zeus smote the servers with an almighty lightning bolt, or someone knocked a coffee into a server stack lol. No word from media rep or anything yet.

Microsoft isn't running the servers FYI, BI has already stated that we were given separate servers from PC a few weeks back so that your weekly server maintenance wouldn't effect us. So were on the same BI server stacks or third party private server company stacks. If it were Microsoft the issue would most likely be rectified already, there so huge they have a 24/7 server farm team. Can't afford not to when your a games network service of there magnitude.

But joking aside, your telling me that even a smaller software development company doesn't have the set up to remotely access there systems and hard reset there servers from home? Hell I ain't even mad , sh*t happens & hardware f*cks up occasionally. Just figured a game of this calibre from even a smaller studio operation cross platform would have recovery procedures in place even on a weekend, my assumption is that a media manager will release a statement at some point today at least. Feels bad after a badly received update stability wise though, dude if I were a BI dev I'd probably turn my phone off during the weekend at this point though :,D

Don't worry guys the devs are on Craig's list looking for a used Nintendo64 to replace the burnt out amiga500+ that blew up running the servers. Once Sandra from Texas lowers the price enough and sends it via Fed ex to BI headquarters we will be good to go.

A dead zone slider would be nice , hell why not a steering sensitivity slider also, once steering consists of more than hard lock left or right that is lol.

Prepare your butts for a full server and character wipe people , this looks like a problem that only gets fixed fast with a full server hard reset. I could be wrong , I hope I am for all those base builders, loot goblins and stash hiders.

I'd advise using a high stamina character build with an AR & melee weapon for dealing with infected. The new wrench will triple tap infected if you go for those head shots. Carrying as little as possible, like a few backup mags and a couple of boxes of ammo and only ever have a canteen & a few cans of food but eat everything else you find as you find it. Also pro tip, eat and drink until you get the full stomach symbol in the bottom right hand corner , this way you'll be full on calories & hydration and make sure to use chlorine tablets on our water now as food poising will make you burn through hydration even faster when in the rain and cold. Plus throwing up will pretty much empty your stomach of food now too. but the lighter you are the better, once your soaked through you'll lose 30% of your full stamina atleast. Once your dry again sometimes your stamina bar bugged out and doesn't increase back , if this occurs drop something from your inventory and pick up or drop all clothes etc and pick up again & it should force a stamina bar reset

Yep hit them up in social media but it's like 2am in the Czech Republic on a Saturday morning so I wouldn't expect miracles. Hopefully it'll rectify itself soon enough, but doubt a devs gonna jump outa bed , cruise down to a server hub and hard reset it tbh. But who knows maybe a third party company maintains the servers so it may only take a phone call.

Yep the Amiga 500+ running the servers blew up lol, I too am database locked and with the overall server count in Europe (less than 100 players) I'm assuming it's a mass crash and lock situation. I don't expect to be released from from database purgatory until the server I was on restarts which could be hours away. Lol GG game, you win this time .
