So I understand that this is part of the game, but it still feels slightly dirty to me. I was playing with two other friends tonight and we finally managed to meet up, so we moved to a Military base. We all had some guns but were by no means fully kitted. As we were working our way trough the base a group of 5 guys spawned in behind us in a building we had just looted. They started shooting first but after a VERY intense fire fight we managed to kill them all without anyone from our squad dying. Every single one of the guys had at least 8 full clips of 5.56 on them and assorted guns. Now like I said I understand this is part of the game but I can’t help feel like what they were doing is borderline abuse. I just wanted to hear everyone’s thoughts on server hopping and wether they feel like it is a fair, legitimate tactic; or if they would prefer the devs try to implement some way of blocking it.

Out of all of the weapons we have available to us on console right now what are some of your guys favorites? Personally I’m really liking the AKM right now. I have a suppressor and a red dot and I honestly prefer the single fire of this gun over the M4.

Also the fucking wolves. They would howl and then sprint at you only to disappear then reappear next to you. Super crazy ?

I agree, probably the most fun I’ve had so far was being in that gun fight with them. It was so hectic trying to figure out who was who, and all the gun fire attracted a ton of zombies. IT WAS A BLOOD BATH.

Yeah that happens when I zoom in as well, the red dot on an AKM is pretty pixelated too...

Also has anyone been able to find any attachments for the M4 or AKM? I’ve found a red dot and some other scopes but haven’t seen any stocks or grips, just wondering

From what I was reading, right now there is no way to switch between semi and full auto, but apparently it is a feature that is planned for the future. Kind of a bummer, I would love to be able to switch between semi and full on a M4

Make sure you are using the right ammo. There’s two types of 7.62 ammo. - 7.62x39mm - 7.62x54mm (which the Mosin uses)

I’ve had something similar happen to me. Except it was after I went into a bus. It has to do with the player model getting stuck in the mesh of another object. I had to lay down, jump around, and try to go in and out of the bus until it was fixed

Also currently there is no good indicator of how many slots and item has, so you need to look it up on the wiki to figure out the exact amount.

Every item has a limited number of slots, for example 8. Even if you haven’t hit the max weight a backpack can carry you may have ran out of slots. The only way I know of, besides moving things to your pants or jacket, is to use a protective case and fill that with items because the case will be the only thing taking up slots. Hope that makes sense and hope it helps!

A few tips that help me survive: - Water drains really fast, especially if you sprint. I NEVER use sprint; which should make it last longer. - Keeping the extra water bottles you find (even the empty ones) is amazing as you can refill them later. - Here is a map you can use. https://dayz.xam.nu You can filter it so you can find water pumps. - Also you are able to loot any zombies you kill (Press “select” while standing over the corpse) they don’t always have something but more often then not there’s food or water. Hope this helps!

Your player should carry over from server to server. The only time you are reset is if you die. If you are still having trouble, before you join a server look at the server # before you join so you can find it again. It should be something like 366####, so you only have to remember the last 4 numbers. Also what helped me with connecting was to use a server that was in my region. I’m from the US, so I use a US server. Favoriting is disabled atm but you can still filter by regions. Hope this helps!

Yeah I was having the same problem, I really hope it’s not like that for all the other guns...

Weather: - Rain has a direct impact on you. If you are out in the rain too long you will become cold. Prolonged exposure can kill you. - You can fill your canteen or PET bottle in the rain (haven’t been able to test on Xbox) Survival: - If you are taking consistent bleeding damage (from another player) you will lose a lot of blood and eventually die. You can use a bandage or a rag to stop the bleeding. - If you are shot in the leg you will become crippled. To fix this you need to use a splint. (Combine branches with either a rag, duct tape, or bandage)

Is there any place I can find an itemized list of the differences between Xbox and PC. Patch notes or something like that? I just don’t want to spend a bunch of time looking for things that aren’t even in our version of the game yet. Thanks!

No clue, my dude is thirstier than a 15 year old kid at a school dance... it’s horrible. It honestly makes sprinting irrelevant, if you sprint you die. Needs to be fixed IMO

Uhmm... yeah. I know for a fact that if you carry more weight it lowers your overall stam. It is NOT a time related thing. If you look at an item it lists the weight of it. As you get heavier you move slower, have less stam, and eventually if you get heavy enough will be unable to jump. I was running around fully kitted with an Alice 110 backpack and it got to the point where I was moving hella slow and couldn’t jump at all. Dropping a few items fixed that.

I’ve been looking, apparently it’s supposed to be by the small boats that are washed up on shore. Haven’t found any tho...

Keep any plastic bottles you have, you can refill them at water pumps or ponds. It’s really not that hard if you play smart and plan ahead. Stock up on water/food before you move on to somewhere else.

Two things: - Which servers are you trying to connect to? Try to stick to your region. If you’re in the US; play on a US server. That helped with connection/lag for me. - As for loot, certain buildings and areas are better for certain things. Farms = Food, you want guns? Go to a military area. The loot is there you just need to know where to look. Hope that helps!

You don’t lose stam over time, you loot more which increases the weight you are carrying; which in turn affects your stam

When I first started playing I ran into another guy and we were both acting friendly, he does an emote, then I do one... in the middle of my emote he try’s to stab me so I proceeded to hatchet the fuck out of him and take his stuff. Don’t trust anyone. I now shoot anyone that comes near me because I feel like they’ve had similar experiences and are now untrusting like me

Here’s a tip that helped me, if you find yourself running along the coast; most of the small boats will have some sort of food or drink by them which really helps with moving towards the cities.
