In 1.07 I had the game breaking issue of changing a chest clothing item and it just disappearing. It happened multiple times, always when dragging a new chest clothing item onto my character. My character wears the new item then, but the older one is just gone and also all of its loot. Tonight it happened again on 1.08. Honestly I am not sure how long this bug is present, as previously I used to drag the clothing item onto its corresponding slot in my inventory. Only since 1.07 I started to drag it onto my character instead. Anyway, this needs a fix badly. Issues this severe should not exist 1,5 year after release.

What do you mean? That your food burns? If that is the case, add fat to the cooking pan. You get fat from most animals, not chicken or fish.

I doubt this is a bug. I think it is intended that car doors of the wrecks have trouble opening.

Well 1.08 fixed the the issue with cars spawning on a server restart near objects/buildings. Often cars would spawn in a wrong way, resulting the car getting broken beyond repair and thus it despawning. The devs have mentioned that 1.09 contains further fixes for the cars. Hopefully that patch will contain some fixes for the flying car, as this issue has been amongst us for already way too long.

Uhm because the old ones looked ugly? Be happy that they actually still invest time in making this game look better. Besides, those car wrecks are very functional, by spawning car parts. Have you tried building a car by looking for each part in a shed? It takes ages. Lastly, when they introduce new cars like the truck and bus we probably see more variation

Yeah foliage smoothing certainly takes a hit on the fps, but I think it does make the foliage look better so I decided to just deal with those drops in fps. Definitely! I'm quite happy that they improved the textures of those ugly Arma 2 barns in 1.08. The quality of those buildings was just too painful to look at. Hopefully we see more of these improvements.

DayZ is pretty odd when it comes to performance when I read about the experiences of others, like yours. I got a I7700K and GTX1070 and always have 60 fps in large urban areas. However, in certain forest areas my fps can drop till 45...

Adam said in his Tuesday stream that the hescoboxes were not supposed to spawn at industrial locations any more. So I guess they changed this in the last experimental update of Thursday. But they should spawn at military locations, I would guess.

Thank you for the patch. I'm happy with the additions and changes that it brought. A bit disappointed that it is just one weapon though. I do really like the changes to the cooking system, the new locations on Chernarus and the inclusion of the new car wrecks on the map. The changes to basebuilding seem to be pretty good. I do have a few notes about it: Breaking in with grenades still seem to be a bit too easy, as grenades are rather commonly found and you just need 3 to break in. The damage done by melee weapons and guns seem to be right; The dismantling option still exist. This still gives enemy players that do break in your base the option to just dismantle the rest of your base. This increases griefing and gives also more power to large clans; Ruined tents should not de-spawn upon server restart or within a short amount of time. With the changes (and I think those are good changes) other players could easily just destroy your tent for the lolz and make all the loot de-spawn. By having ruined tents de-spawn in two days or perhaps a week we have the chance to collect some loot from the destroyed tents.

Good of you to keep trying. You will notice it becomes easier. Shovels are usually found in barns or those little sheds next to the houses. Just keep in mind that on same days the DayZ loot god favours you, and on other days it ignores your presence. As another tip: besides canned food, animal meat it one of the best sources of energy. If you eat cow/deer/boar meat etc. you will able to keep on going for a while before requiring more food. Best way to do this is shoot them and then use a knife to cut them. Then prepare one of the cooking methods. This video might help:

There has been some info on the next patch and they answer tweets about it almost daily right now. According to the latest tweets they are wrapping up development on the new patch and start testing it.

Vanilla or modded servers? Coughing and sneezing means you got the flu, not kuru. The laughter is kuru. Maybe you ate human fat by mistake, as it is not distinguishable from animal fat.

Seeing that we are still supposed to get four more patches this year, they have to release this month. Or else we either get smaller successive patches or simply not five patches in total.

Fun topic! I would say: Trumpet and sporter Writing notes Car wrecks I'd say this Friday. But then again I expected it to be last Friday as well. Was expecting an announcement after the last winner of the postcardz action ended. By the way, is the temperature system for items not already in the game? Like how clothes help you make feel warmer.

Let's talk about car despawn ...

I agree completely! It is sad when you think about the excuse the devs gave back during the 1.0 release. Saying how the core gameplay loop is there and therefore the game is finished. Now we are like 1.5 years later and those ''Core gameplay loop'' features still do not work. Base building is worthless and cars are unreliable and still kill you from time to time..... Sure the game does get better with each patch, I cannot deny that. However, this poor excuse from back then still makes my head turn in disbelief. -
Arma4 might not be announced, but the chances of it being in development are pretty high. It is Bohemia's flagship title and it is already known that they are working on a new game that is making full use of Enfusion (DayZ is a hybrid). Why not make your flagship title be the first to make use of the powers of a brand new engine? Additionally, Arma3 got released in 2013. The time is right for a new Arma title.

Yes! Bring back the trumpet and Sporter! Getting the bow/crossbow back in would be amazing, but you all are forgetting improvised tents that are in the game files since 0.63 (or beyond?) I want to make a small tent of animal leather, a campfire and sit next to with my repeater and bow.

To be honest. I joined TRMZ server a week ago and had a slight delay in actions and a lot of infected were stuck or unresponsive. A day before I played on the Dayzafterdark server (80/80) and the performance was great as far as I noticed. Just an observation though, maybe the TRMZ server had a bad day. Can't compare those two different games.

I agree that the sandbox nature makes DayZ such a unique game. Thankfully the massive map of Chernarus lends for different playstyles without it being too obtrusive. Dunno if you ever played Miscreated. That game had a decent balancing for base raiding but suffered from ugly looking bases everywhere on the map. It really took away the immersion. Last time I constructed a base in Dayz was back with 1.01. Took a long time to build. Got raided a few times. No biggie as they just smacked one wall down, I happily spend some time fixing that. However, one day I logged on to see my whole base dismantled.

I have seen this opinion on base building before and I have to respectfully disagree with it. Don't take this the wrong way, but most of the times I can understand why somebody prefers something different, even though it is the opposite of my opinion. Sadly, I simply cannot understand why anyone would support the current balance of base building (i.e. easy to lose). I'm pretty sure that you have never put the time into building a base. Better yet, I am confident that you never agreed for base building to be introduced into the game. I know that I will not convince you, but just to throw the word out again. Base building should be a time sink. Something that in my opinion DayZ is doing perfectly well. Nobody wants a map clusterd by tons of bases. Making it a time sink, it rewards players that go the extra mile to establish a base. However, raiding a base should be a time sink as well. Better yet, destroying a complete base should take an insane amount of time. Why would anyone bother to make a base if it can be raided within 10 minutes? Currenly it takes tons of hours to find all the materials and just a simply hatchet from a shed to raid a base of its content. This is not balanced. A few arguments that I came across are: Just hide in a good place No. You simply cannot hide a base and expect it never to be found. Every base, even the best hidden bases, will be found within a matter of weeks. 2. Just guard the base, and if you can't, you should not have a base. (Or in other words, base building is purely for huge clans) So first this alienates a huge player base of dedicated solo players or people that just play with a couple of friends. Then again, even groups of four to five people won't be online all the time. To have at least one person defend the base at all time is insane. People have lifes as well and no time to always defend their virtual base. 3. Bases a mostly build out of wood so should be easy to break. It is a game. Be happy that that bases are actually made in a way that they blend in perfectly with the environment. I simply cannot understand why anyone would agree with this. Bases should be raidable by some dedicated attack party, but should not be completely demolished within 20 minutes by a fresh spawn with a hatchet. You can't compare a base that takes tons of hours to be build with a new character that you will receive with the press of a button. Sure if somebody is so desperate for high-end loot they might, but I guess most people aren't. They never intended to make base building like this, considering they are going to revamp it. I agree with this. However, this is more of a problem with burried crates than base building. Lets ignore burried crates for a second. Bases should still be raidable, so your loot should be able to be taken by other players. I think nobody wants unraidable bases, at least I havent' come across these opinions.

Base building is currently massively unbalanced. They already mentioned that an overhaul on base building is coming. Hopefully that will make it a worthwhile feature.

This and a balanced out basebuilding and I think the game is finally getting there. I don't care that much about helicopters or two-wheeled vehicles. I just want the core game loop to be finally fully functioning after more than one year. Man, that had to be one of the worst lines that ever came from the dev-team. Releasing DayZ as 1.0 because the core gameplay loop is in place. One year later and cars still kill you and bases still can be raided by a fresh spawn with a hatchet. Ah well, this is just beating a dead horse by now. I just want that to be working and to finally have broken bones and ragdoll effects.
