The real reason why there won't be a Roadmap...

I appreciate your speech you truly believe in what you say but I`m afraid I have to let the logic and facts speak for me and the truth I have provided for the public. -
The real reason why there won't be a Roadmap...
Survivor1431 replied to Weyland Yutani (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Judging by the comments above me I can tell that not a single one of you understands how game development works, so allow me to explain it simply. Game development is a long process that requires time and has periods of increased and decreased rate of progress. Road maps are always a foolish idea because they limit the creative potential of the developers and waste their precious time in completing the masterpiece. Paid micro-transactions allow the development to remain financially feasible in the long-term, whilst also giving players some extra enjoyment for what they are paying for. Truth be told it is forum members constantly complaining based on their primitive comprehension of how to make video games that sets the developers back the farthest because they have to reallocate coding time to handle public relations. -
You know youve played too much Dayz when.....

You know you played too much DayZ when you're still eating innocent survivors along the coast after destroying them with your M4 and laughing with the knowledge that they have to start all over again. -
Nespesney just quit DayZ...

Thank you so much Peter your legacy will not be forgotten I look forward to polishing the masterpiece you have given us. I am definitely going to eat some innocent survivors on the coast in your honor. -
Great work developers keep the updates coming you just took the game from great to perfect with this patch. Don't be discouraged about all the whiners complaining about barely noticeable bugs that don't affect the DayZ experience. I will eat them on the coast anyways. I'm looking forward to the new helicopter you have planned for us very soon. Thank you.

My rangefinder displays 999 no matter where I point it.

Very good work keep it coming now all we need is some new cosmetics colors the entire community has been desperately awaiting this feature for a very long time thank you.

You call it clunky but in actuality it just requires serious training like you would have to do in the real life military. In real life once you commit to a real swing your momentum forces you to finish the swing in the direction you started, and you cannot alter the object's trajectory until the swing is complete. This is exactly the genius the developers had to implement this in the game. The player now must gradually improve until he is a competent warrior and can aim properly. This takes intense focus and expert training regimen which I follow each morning until dinner to ensure I never get defeated. So this change now separates the wolves from the rabbits by seeing who can handle a skill challenge. I'm a wolf and you're a rabbit and that's okay. Not everyone is at the top of the food chain.

A hardcore survival game is now challenging. Gasp!
-
Sorry but they're here to stay for skilled players who enjoy a deep authentic combat experience. If you want overly simplistic button mashing arcade fighting then Minecraft is just the game for you my friend.

You got tricked by the April fool's post! The developers aren't spending money on a rollercoaster, they're in fact working hard at making this perfect game even better then it already is. I see you have been struggling to survive in Chernarus and find a way to defend yourself. Search hard and long young Padawan, and you will eventually be victorious. That is, if I don't mow you down with my delicious, pristine stash of 5 KA-M's and 6 M4's. Good luck, son.

An assertion without evidence! Dismissed as dogma.
-
You're gonna have to search harder son, this is not Call Of Duty.
-
I would have killed them all with my bare hands that said I'm the best player in DayZ so I succeed where most others fail.
-
How do you know what they planned?
-
Is it worth drinking water until stomach is full if the water icon is white and full, or does hydration max out once the water icon is full and white?

I think zombies opening doors is really important. It's currently way too easy to run into a house run out and close the door to trap them. They should be delayed temporarily and then break open the door so you're forced to either escape and hide or kill them. Then if you have a lock-pick it should take them even longer to break the door open. And if you barricade the door with boards it should take really long or be impossible. But this would make fighting infected far more interesting and threatening.
-
I don't want more vehicle and gun models. I want better performance and increased player count, bug fixes, and more challenging survival (infected can break doors with barricades and have better AI, advanced diseases, bears, fractures, etc). Unless the player count is increased, you can go a very long time without an encounter, so PvE needs to be more of a challenge. Although bikes would be cool.

Interesting, a bigger difference than I expected.

Your player character is literally attached to his gear in DayZ.
-
I have an i7-7700k, 4 cores, 8 threads, and my CPU usage never bottlenecks, in fact there was a ton of headroom from what I remember in testing, but I can't remember the exact numbers.

It works perfectly, you just have yet to figure it out son.

PLEASE reverse the NEW "Client Side Personal Night Light"
Survivor1431 replied to 0.64 Freerider's topic in General Discussion
Night light is opposite of realistic! It is now neon party light inside yet pitch black outside except for the neon trees and the neon fences! Solution: 1) Remove night light 2) Add realistic moonlight! 3) Watch all the night light warriors get mad! -
I'll tell you what the roadmap is: Hour 1) You walk around all innocent with your big bag of loot, oblivious to your surroundings Hour 2) You're dead on the ground after receiving my sledgehammer for Easter Hour 3) I'm feasting on your tasty flesh while it roasts over the fire

Hello survivors! Most of you have probably experienced that classic moment in DayZ after walking around for hours in search of something to do, where you have contemplated whether or not you should become a bandit. I'm here to offer an airtight argument as to why you absolutely should do so during your career. If you watch the Matrix film, a cult classic phenomenon that has revolutionized how we think about reality, you will realize that the existence of The One depends on the existence of Mr. Smith. They complete each other. If there were only heroes in DayZ, they would not be heroes. One depends on the other. Without darkness, there is no light. The heroes only can only conquer evil if it exists. Heroes are good and should exist. Therefore, fulfill your ethical obligations as a Dayz survivor and join the dark side! But fear not, there a wide variety of bandits that DayZ needs to truly thrive. Here are a list of suggestions that I personally recommend you to choose from: The Psychopath The Thief The Mischief Maker The Friend Betrayer The Team Traitor The Military Madman The Existential Nihilist The Trophy Hunter The Sadistic Torturer The Impulsive Murderer The Dogmatic Terrorist The Deceiver The Reckless Drunk Driver The Innocent Civilian Sniper The Nighty Night Ninja The Sledgehammer Slugger The Delirious Firefighter Please feel free to recommend your favorite type of bandit so that others can be inspired and we can increase the total number of bandits in DayZ. Every day is a new story!
