I'm talking about this: Persistence fixes Undesirable persistence wipes were definitely among the most annoying issues reported in 1.0. With 1.01, we're introducing a system of Persistence Backups that aims meant to prevent problems with saving of the persistence data on the servers. This system will be available to both official and community owned server. We've seen some pretty good results on the Experimental branch so far. In any case, we will still be closely monitoring all incoming reports should any loot, bases, or other persistence data get deleted after server crashes/restarts. BI put in the system so I figured they would have an explanation on how to use the back up that it save. From the folder in DayZServer\mpmissions\dayzOffline.chernarusplus\storage_1

At what point do we consider DayZ dead online?
Guy Smiley replied to rickyriot's topic in General Discussion
They never had a vision for the bases. Long before bases became any turning point in development, it was all about barricading the already pre-made structures in game. The Epoch crowd eventually became louder and louder and louder over time and the devs caved. Scrapped the barricading for a half-baked base building system that was very untested prior to 1.0 release -
Provider is Vilayer. It's more for a just in case scenario. I've had them for almost a month now and nothing drastic has happened thus far. Vehicles, tents and storage have stayed since starting the server but it's be good to know just for that emergency if a bad crash happens and people lose stuff. I'll dig into it a little more

Test was inconclusive as I forgot I had the zed spawns up and well, heading back to test the spawns after looting was a total failure to put it mildly Will run another test tomorrow

Who actually build bases and repair cars?
Guy Smiley replied to Evilsausage's topic in General Discussion
If the car took any damage from the gunfire that put it in a ruined state, it will despawn in a few minutes -

Are we able to add different coordinates to the zombies_territories.xml for infected spawns? Such as I pick an empty field, find the coordinates and add all the info eg. <zone name="InfectedVillage" smin="0" smax="0" dmin="21" dmax="39" x="9936" z="5440.81" r="100"/> but changing the coordinates of course.

Reinstate Forced Server Messages!
Guy Smiley replied to Weyland Yutani (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
Micro-transactions started by the admins of the servers *facepalm* You seriously need to step away from this game for a while. Every post you make, you're frothing at the mouth -

This thread is a prime example of how downhill these forums have gone. A couple of years ago this thread would have maybe gone 2 posts in before it got yarded and buried. Do we even have moderators here anymore? -
So is this normal? One punch death in melee.
Guy Smiley replied to rickyriot's topic in General Discussion
Nothing is overly wrong with infected. I still don't think you're even playing the game -

I really dont know what game you're playing but they definitely are not buggy. I even have increased infected and they still act normally. I have yet to have been killed by one of these so called buggy infected. If you hate the game that much, fine, but don't go spreading lies and misinformation. -
night server after night server after night server after night server
Guy Smiley replied to Red_Ensign's topic in General Discussion
Some official servers do have accelerated time but I've noticed a slight bug where it's not showing the accelerated time arrows in the server list now -

As far as I can tell it only increases the getting cut open and bleed frequency but wouldn't surprise me if we do take more damage overall -
night server after night server after night server after night server
Guy Smiley replied to Red_Ensign's topic in General Discussion
Quit choosing servers at night time then? You realize that when it's night time where you live it's night time on official servers, right? You've only been here since 2014, this is something you should have known by now. Or choose one of the plethora of day only servers that have filled the community list up -
Where can I adjust the respawn timer of the infected. I have their numbers increased but due to how long it takes to cut through them plus the sneaking around, they've already respawned before I can even get through a small town lol. Not a huge issue, just needs some fine tuning.

Because it's winter time and the sun still goes down at bout 6pm. It also depends on the server and when they have their date set. If they are even earlier in winter the sun will be be setting roughly around 4-4:30 pm and it'll be dark by 5 pm

Care Bears care. Except for this one. he don't give a shit

Which file would be best for increasing infected spawn? I've noticed in the globals.xml vile there is this var name="ZombieMaxCount" type="0" value="1000"/> but I've also read that going into worlds_chernarusplus_ai.pbo and changing the spawn rates in zombie_territories.xml is the way to do it. Which one should I do and how exactly is it done? I'm using PBO Manager btw

The biggest issue, and this is coming from a whiteknight fanboy, is this hilarious release they call 1.0. I'm sorry but that was the dumbest decision that BI could have made and then charging people $59.99 for this half-baked game. Sadly, we, the consumers, are to blame for allowing companies to release half-baked products into the gaming world and still throw money at them. This has got to stop. Stupid people are the reason why we get watered down games with nothing but cosmetic paywalls -

Guy Smiley replied to Evilsausage's topic in General Discussion
I've been car hunting with a buddy and he's been getting frustrated with some of the small technicalities that can and have been happening whilst getting our cars running. I've already lost 4. One to a tree at 110 km/h. Another because I didn't add enough oil to it and the engine went red. The third was more my fault as I thought I had come to a complete stop before alt-tabbing and when I came back to the game, I was rolling towards stream and before I could react the car rolled sideways at the edge of the stream and knocked me out briefly. The fourth one kind of pisses me off. Was driving down the highway up north and was going to pick up my buddy when I all of a sudden got kicked due to high ping. Come back, the car is stuck on a rock, radiator is pooched but the car is fine. I ruined the rad trying to get the car unstuck without success. I have discovered that once the engine does turn red, there is no point on going out to try and find enough oil again to fill the car as it will despawn with a minute or so. -

Oh the sky is falling. Woe is DayZ. It doesn't help that everyone and his dog can run a server now. Playerbase being segregated over a bazillion servers.
