I found one apple between Solnichniy and Gorka

Well, I did a kos last night in electro. I was in the fire hall going up the stairs and I didn't hear the other player coming down. He scared the living crap out of me plus he did have a firemans axe in hand so I just started swinging my pipe wildly and took him out. Not my style but I panicked. Plus I was starving to death anyway and he did end up having a can of beans on him

Well, if the survival aspect of the game is done properly, it should quell a good chunk of the pure pvp crowd due not being able to just run to military zones for hot lootz. Most will get turned off, we'll see a few rage posts at how this game sucks until someone posts them a link to a mod that is the style of DayZ they want.

Meeting up with friends SHOULD be more accessible in .63.

It sometimes took myself and a buddy 3 or 4 play sessions just to meet up. We've never just dashed to each other, we looted along the way looking for equipment and each session usually turned into quite the adventure. That's what DayZ is about. Just wait for modding to come out that will give you spawn locations and team spawns. -
I'm pretty sure all the status indicators are just for the stress test, at least hoping they are.
-
Keep in mind that this is the first iteration and not even close to being the final stage of it. I personally like the aspect of focusing of a specific skill which I think should take a long time to master. I also like the debuff idea of not working on other skill but they should never go into a negative value. The idea of skills diminishing is a great idea. When not performing certain skills, you become "rusty". I also don't think that honing skills should give that much of an advantage but something reasonable.
-
The whole point to the soft skill is to not make an uber soldier. I get it, everyone wants to be the elite killing machine but the idea behind the soft skills is to not have that. Pick the direction you want to take to and if you don't like it, try a different skill set.
-
Perhaps if you quoted the rest of my point on the difficult part you'd actually understand instead of just cherry picking what you want just like you always do.
-
That's the point. You're not suppose to get to point A to point B in a few minutes. It's still a survival game and it's suppose to be difficult. Not instant pew pew. Risk vs reward. Do you risk running to that town you see way up the road just to find out it's barren, burning your thirst and hunger in the process? Not to mention, berries and apples don't seem to be in or they're not working or I'm doing completely something wrong, so finding food is a little difficult right now. Also, stress test. Not all features are working or in at the moment.

Well I haven't found a lot of items yet but I did notice stuff like the can opener being a little out to lunch in it's weight. I'm sure the items will be more fine tuned and balanced but we also have to realize that this is only a stress test and not even remotely close to the version that will be released as beta.
-
I agree that the weights are definitely off but this is a step in the right direction and will prevent players from sprinting from one end of the map to the other in 10 mins which should never have happened in the first place. Now everyone is so accustomed to it that the new weight system is something they don't want and are going to make a big stink about as has been already proven.
-
The game will be as balanced as you make it. If you choose to load your character up prepare for the consequences. No more hand holding is going to happen from this point on
-
Going from place to place is suppose to be punishing. Jesus, what kind of game do you want?
-
I totally disagree with you. You almost seem upset you won't be able to get to the military loot areas in 5 mins anymore. The stamina system is a step in the right direction especially with adding all the extra weight to your character and draining the stamina faster. Players have become so accustomed to the easy-mode we've had prior to the stress test that I have a feeling these forums are going to explode with a lot of angry posts with how the gameplay is going to be come beta.
-
I was going through the status reports and I didn't see any mention of this. Do you have a link for it?
-
I wholeheartedly agree but you still need to realize that it's only a stress test and a lot of mechanics are not in.
-
To be fair, the only person that ever claimed DayZ to be "authentic" in any form was Dean Hall himself.
-
It's going to happen when modding comes out. DayZ will turn in PUBZ. It's inevitable. Just look at the mod. Went from a really good survival game to pick your starting area and starting gear then go pvp. Rinse and repeat. The true die hards will stick with the main concept of DayZ but sadly, those servers won't be very busy or there will be very few of them.
-
Yup, been a few days now
-
I get wearing a shirt under your jacket but I see the whole idea with layers to be an abusable system where people would just stack layers upon layers for more storage space but we would also have to see what they could come up with as well.
-
Big difference between an opinion and outright lying and slander. And steam reviews? Please? Reviewing an unfinished game is the stupidest thing people could do besides eating tide pods. As to the Op's question, I'd wait until beta at least. Check it out, if you like it, cool. If not, keep waiting.
-
Then keep stomping your feet. I'm sure that will speedup the development
-
How dare they try to get a good working version for stress testing. I can't believe how ignorant the staff is to our needs. They should just release the damn game already as I'm a paying customer *sarcasm* . Do you guys hear yourselves? They are doing what they can to get a working version for us and that shit takes time. Stop being self entitled and know-it-alls to what's going on behind the scene
-
Well if DayZ actually had zombies this would be a cool idea
