You guys are hilarious. Early access is not the new model for game structure. It was their way of crowd funding the game. Alpha does not = early access. Beta not not = early access
-
No it's not. Where are you finding your information? Read the goddamn status report. It does not state anywhere that it's leaving beta and going into full release. And if I'm not mistaken, full release was mentioned to happen sometime in 2019 for both the Xbox and PC versions respectively
-
You read it again "Most of this will be happening throughout the rest of 2018, culminating in a 1.0 release where we leave Early Access - but even after this milestone is achieved (meaning we finally close the core development of the game), we're going to keep improving the platform before new things start making their way into the game again. So to summarize, the PC BETA update is going to be a version of the game that has all the basic fun elements of DayZ available, and it's also the start of the journey towards a balanced, stable platform that's ready to support further development and modding. With that out of the way, let's take a look at the particular features and content that will be available in the BETA update." "Road to the 1.0 release In general, polishing the package of content and features as described above will be our goal for 1.0, and for the weeks immediately after 1.0. This will include: general balancing of every part of the game (central economy, weapon damage...) a massive amount of bug fixing polishing and improving the general feeling you as players have when playing DayZ Just to assure everyone again, both the BETA and 1.0 releases will happen this year. All of that will be done together with our community, and we will be expecting to hear a lot of feedback on various things. When the BETA update gets released, we'll be providing more details on how we will be collecting and evaluating feedback. As the cherry on top, there's of course the planned modding toolset release - and we'll also get back to that later on, when the BETA update is in your hands. It deserves its own blog post, and after all, this has already been a very long wall of text anyway! :) - Martin Čulák / Brand Manager" Nowhere does it state in that status report that DayZ is full release at 1.0.
-
No, a wrong attitude is coming onto these forums and whining about something that is not true. 1.0 is not the end of beta for the last time. It is also not the feature complete game. It is the end of early access and that is it.
-
Where is everyone getting this full release from? It's the end of early access and that's it. You guys are so confused
-
No, 1.0 is the only release at the end of the year. Zero mention of full game or end up beta.
-
I agree. I really think they shot themselves in the foot by slapping the beta tag on DayZ with the state and condition it's in. I've defended some of the decisions the devs have made but this one I will not. DayZ's current state is still very much Alpha and they will have to pull off a miracle for their 1.0 release.
-
Oh for the love of..... BI is the only company that I know of that doesn't use traditional numbering system to establish game state. 1.0 is not the end of beta nor is it full release unlike every other game out there. It's leaving early access yes but it will not be the full release. My god people. Get a grip
-
Whatever happened to the "we're not going with base building but more of a fortification" stance from the devs? Guess all the kicking and screaming paid off
-
Broken bones use to be in(remember all the rage posts about gun shaking?) and yes, that was the plan of the wound system they talked about many moons ago. Whether if it's still a plan is beyond me at this point.
-
Well I'm pretty sure that the wounded animations will clearly give you an indication of where you've been hit, not to mention being in 3pp you can easily see where you're bleeding from
-
The guy I quoted is assuming that we're done testing the game come 1.0. Where does it say that beta is done at 1.0? I don't disagree that the game is a complete mess and it was foolish of them to slap the beta tag on it right now but it is what it is
-
You do realize 1.0 is not the end of development right? That it's not even the full release still?
-
Not sure what to tell you bud. Welcome to game testing is all I can say.
-
What's "completely broken" about the game? I'm really curious as I've been playing and have had no issues minus the no gun sounds

Can no longer bring up the menu in offline dayz

Don't know what to tell ya. I have not experienced this and the only thing that comes to mind is people changing keybindings. Put it in the feedback tracker or whatever it is they are using now I guess -

They really need to add to the disclaimer to not touch the in-game keybindings for it will have catastrophic consequences -
Which branch are we suppose to be testing? I'm pretty certain I read that the experimental and stress test branches were going to be deprecated or something along those lines and that they will be focusing on the stable "beta" branch until those will be needed again?
-
Bases are not and were never meant to be impenetrable fortresses. Not sure why people keep assuming it's their safe spot. You don't want you base to get raided? Don't build a giant beacon that says, "HEY LOOK AT MY SUPER DUPER AWESOME BASE!!" Create it way off the beaten path where people never venture Keep it small and have a few stashes around. Again, why are people assuming they should be able to store enough gear to outfit an army is beyond me

A dedicated game engine that seems not so dedicated...
Guy Smiley replied to rickyriot's topic in General Discussion
Beta? Don't know what else to tell you. Am I happy with it? Nope. Key missing features: Vaulting, diseases, KEYBINDINGS WTF lol. Those definitely should have been in before they even bothered slapping the beta tag on the game but I can live with it because it's light years ahead of where it was. -

And that money went into funding the creation of the Enfusion Engine alongside other projects. The money still goes to Bohemia to pay their staff, pay their bills, buy their Lamborghini's(sarcasm), fund other projects etc.... -
Player speed is still ridiculously too fast on top of the fact they removed the steep incline slowdown. The fast movement makes melee horrible and looks terrible
-
What's next, adding auto navigation so you don't have to hold your movement keys down?
-
Why is your head torch red? Shouldn't it be the same as a flashlight?

Solution: Stop running everywhere
