Will never pick up a grenade again
pixel91 replied to frankyes's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah, they run after them. Tho it's gotten a little unreliable lately, so I don't even pick them up anymore. And I always always get rid of frags, they serve no valid use and only lead to screw-ups. -
So I killed a (pretty dumb) bunch of carjackers.

This was probably one of the weirdest situations I ever had in DayZ....and one of the funniest. So last night I found a perfectly repaired white pickup with half a tank of gas in Sosnovka...I couldn't believe my luck and just bailed with the thing...don't know if it spawned that way or belonged to someone...and who cares? Sadly, IRL stuff came up when I was near Pustoshka...so I didn't really have time to hide it good, just drove it into the woods, thought it would suffice...I'll only be gone for a night, anyway. This morning I decided to give it an hour of DayZ before work....and logged back on the server. And my truck was gone. :/ I raged a little but soon said to myself "win some, lose some". I decided to just quickly hit the airport, maybe get some shit out of it. I didn't feel like going through Vybor...cause that turned out to be a deathtrap more than once. So I decided to pass Lopatino instead. I arrived their without incidents and when I was just about to walk away, I heard someone honk (yes, someone actually used the damn car horn). I quickly made my way to the large warehouse just outside of Lopatino, and climbed up to get overwatch. I looked around and sure enough: I see my own white pickup barreling up the road towards Lopatino at full speed, with two guys sitting in it. The driver made a very adventurous turn at the intersection just south Lopatino and kept going at full speed (I winced when he nearly totaled my sweet truck...) And he just kept going and going and I wondered If he knows about the roadblock at the south entrance of Lopatino...the one you can't see when you're moving towards it in first person, until you're right at it. Well, what can I say....he didn't know about it...He slammed the pickup against the concrete barricade at full speed, completely destroying the two front wheels. I was mad, the asshole stole my truck and drove it to shit. The driver kept trying to move away, cause in first person you can't see the destroyed tires...meanwhile of course, the zombies I had spawned earlier were knocking at their doors. The passenger finally got out and began shooting zombies with his AK-74 (of course, there was a lot of them, we all know how loud cars are..) the driver soon followed when he finally realized the truck ain't moving anymore. He helped his buddy, shooting zeds with his M4 until they were all dead. One of them bandaged himself and then they surveyed the damage. At this point, I still didn't know for sure that it was my truck, but when the one guy swapped his AK for the M1014 I had stored in the truck, I knew. I took revenge....I took them both out from my nice little vantage point. And it felt oh so good to see them go down bleeding.... I went down there and checked the truck myself...yes, it was mine...the food and ammo I had stored were still there...the truck itself had a lot of engine damage besides the two missing wheels, but was still running. Sadly enough, my time was up and I had to get to work, so I couldnt find wheels and repair the damn thing. Right now I hope I'll be lucky and still find it when I get home from work...cause I want my truck! Lesson: if you gonna steal someone's ride: don't crash it two towns over. -

My sweet little Pickup has now finally gone the way of all things. Again it has been stolen (this time from my crew's tents deep in the woods, along with most our stuff and our other car, a red GAZ). I was moving south of Gorka when I heard an explosion in or near the town...at first I thought it was a frag grenade. Even tho I wondered why someone would use a M67 in Gorka, I decided to check it out anyway. I moved in closer and soon saw a smoke trail to the east on the road. I moved up the little hill and saw it, the smoldering remains of a white Hilux. I didn't think much of it...took it for some random crew's truck. The driver was dead right next to the car and I spotted the passenger not far off in a bush with his back towards me. I set up my M107 and gave him a center mass round to the back. I moved in to check their gear...and when I saw that they both had SVDs and were carrying all other sorts of rare goodies, I had my first suspicions.....suspicions that would later be confirmed, when my buddy informed me of the theft from our camp five minutes later... I wasn't too mad....it gave us a new goal, find more tents to create a new camp somewhere...and also: find new cars. It still sucked tho, I loved that truck! -
I felt like a f*ckin Navy SEAL after this! My first time in DayZ
pixel91 replied to deaddem's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Want to feel like a SEAL? Take a silenced M4, go to lake Prud (north of Stary Sobor) step into it and lay down. Wait for someone else to come by, stand up and shoot him. That's the classic "SEAL emerging from water" right there. Awesome story, anyway! Kudos for not Alt+F4ing out of it! -
Taking out 5 players in the span of 10 minutes.

Today was a very successful day, bandit-wise. And be warned, it's a long one. And it started rather crappy.... I got shot on my dirtbike....losing my entire kit AND the bike. A few hours after that, when me and my crew returned to our camp, our two vehicles and most of the stuff from our tents was gone. Turns out I had actually heard earlier, how the douchebags crashed our pickup outside of Gorka. The driver died in the crash, I gave the pessenger a .50 to the back...oh sweet revenge...I didn't know it at the time, I thought it was just a random crew with a pickup. Anyway we decided to change servers and find a location for a new camp. So we packed up what we cold carry and kitted up, and started our journey. At this time it was me (Pixel), BAEM and Paddy, who were moving through Cherna, all ghillied up and armed to the teeth. We soon made it up to Vybor, where we found an ATV, fully fueled and ready to go.At this point, Paddy was afk and several minutes behind. So BAEM and I decided to take the ATV for the time being and scout ahead...check a few known vehicle spawn locations and a find a good place for a tent. We found both. At first a nice little site, that we makred for later camping...and then another ATV, this time completely damaged and with lots of stuff in it (7 satchels, a MK48 with 5 belts and all the parts for the necessary repair, sans two wheels) Our goal now, was of course to find the missing wheels. At this time, Paddy was back and in bad need for food and drink, so he decided to go into Vybor, where we met him at the gas station. After a quick discussion, we decided that BAEM was gonna check Vybor for wheels, while I took Paddy to our campsite on the ATV (he had the tent) As fate wants it tho, I flipped the ATV going over the bridge in Vybor (damn you, Arma engine!). So now we had to flip it back, for which we need the second ATV, so we need those wheels. At this point Foxman, our fourth, logged on, he was still near our old camp. So he went back to that server, took our wheels out of the tents and made the long journey to the airfield on foot. In the meantime, BAEM, Paddy and I decided to make a run on the airfield, maybe find some wheels. We raided the southern barracks and adjacent buildings without incident...but also without wheels. But we saw zombies at the firestation across the field, meaning players! We moved to a overwatch/sniper position. BAEM was carrying a DMR, Paddy's got an AS50 and I quickly put my silenced M4 into my pack and took out the M107. We watched...and waited. Nothing happened, the zombies despawned. BAEM says he's gonna go to the other side, check the industrial compound for wheels. He moved over, we stayed. Nothing happened at first. He then aggroed a bunch of Z's and ran out of ammo for his silenced M9, so he had to use the DMR. At nearly the same time he fired, two other players fired on him, but missed badly. BAEM ran like a bitch and managed to evade without injuries. He retreated back to the damaged ATV in the woods, Paddy and I kept overwatch, sadly not seeing the two players. Things stayed like this for a while. Somewhere in between, I lost my ghillie suit due to a re-log error, so I was a little uncovered, but still in a bad position. Foxman soon arrived at BAEMs position, they repaired the ATV and moved towards the flipped one. So, at this point, Foxman and BAEM are far off the airfield and Paddy and I are on two sides of the same tree, hidden and waitiing....and now it got interesting! Pixel: "Hey Paddy are you walking around behind me?" Paddy: "No man, I'm still laying here." So I turn my head and whadda you know...two players, jogging through the wall and right by us (maybe 10 meters distance) like it's cool, without seeing us. Pixel: "Holy shit, don't move, two guys right behind us!" Paddy: "Oh fuck, why didn't I hear them?" Pixel: "Forget it, just get ready to run. Even if we take them out, we can't stay to loot after we fired our cannons." So I quickly slap the zero on my M107 to 100m....let them walk by..take a knee...and pray to god. I aim for the first one....BAM...center mass in the back, he goes down. I was shooting on my knees, so the recoil of the fifty was a bitch...It took me too long to readjust. enough time for the second guy to figure things out. he got off two rounds in my direction with his M4 before I center-massed him to the chest, taking him down too. I took a quick breath and then Paddy and I hauled ass, off the field and south, getting distance in. We decided to circle around and watch the flipped ATV, keep overwatch while BAEM and Foxman try to flip it (they werent there yet). I was going first, so I was also the first to see them: three other players. moving across the field towards a barn south of Vybor, not far from our ATV. I kneeled, guesstimated the distance and fired. I missed the first shot cause they were moving. But the last guy of the group hit the dirt as soon as I fired and started crawling and rolling, turning towards me, too. He had a DMR, so he needed to go. I readjusted....BAM..headshot, one down, two to go. The other two made for the barn and Paddy and me kept watch of the entrance, but we couldnt see the back of it.Lucky for us, BAEM and Foxman had of course heard about the commotion on TS and circled around it all, so they were able to get them from behind. We knew they were in a little shed off the main barn, but we couldn't get to them. What did we do? We used the old "scare the shit ouf of them tactic". Foxman grabbed the MK48 off the ATV and just bursted the shed with rounds. Sure enough, they ran, for the main barn. With the machine gun going from south and the sniper north, they didnt count for added accuracy from the south, too. As soon as they bolted from the shed, BAEM took one of them down with his DMR. The last one had made it to the barn, he was now trapped. He had a MK48 and a DMR pointed at the south door, an AS50 covering the north door...and I had moved to cover the west door. We wanted to take him down, too. I quickly grabbed my M4 out of the backpack and moved in, along with MG-Gunner Foxman and marksman BAEM from the south.I saw the guy in the small west door..and he saw me. I quickly moved from the line of fire and gave supressing fire onto the door, to keep him inside. While I did that, Foxman and BEAM moved to the main entrance and leaned around the corner... I heard one long burst and a few DMR shots and saw a couple of tracers fly out the backdoor, but most rounds hit their mark, he was now dead, we had taken him down without losses, without injuries, even. We had the sweet satisfaction of taking their loot...weapons, backpacks, night optics and of course....BEANS! Sadly...in all the goings on in Teamspeak..with the attempts of flipping over the ATV and the collecting of gear from the dead, we completely missed that our fifth guy, Melo, was moving in on us. So as I was moving some stuff around, I saw some guy a hundred meters north of us...and I called it out. There was a little rushing and shuffling, a slight panic...and then three DMR shots in quick succession. BAEMs murder count got up to 7...and Melo was dead. In the end, we got the ATV back on all fours, found a second tent on the dead guys (thank you!) and moved to set up camp without further incidents. Melo got picked up in Zelenogorsk, so all was good, as we had saved his gear, naturally. And I want to take this chance for something... You group of three people we took out: I do not know your names. But THANK YOU! Thank you for staying and fighting, you had several chances to cowardly log off (at least two of you did...) and you didn't! You chose to stay and fight like men, which is so rare in DayZ these days....I don't know if you had made the same decision had you known how many of us there actually were...but you made the decision anyway, which is good! Thank you! -

So let me get this straight.....you get bashed by the crew when using a "non-fitting" language in here....but nothing is done about the endless stream of people flooding the ingame chats with russian on US and UK servers, where english should be enforced? Why do you even care? Let him post German, what's the difference? He's looking for GERMAN players (probably to talk German on voicecomms), so why would people who can't read this, even be interested? The people that fit his profile will have no problem understanding this, so why should he post it in english, so that more players can read about something that doesn't concern them? Maybe you should do something about the often borderline insulting bandit-bashing in the bandit campfire before nitpicking over something like this. -
I had pretty much the same thing happen to me. I was guarding my friends body on top of Devil's Castle when I heard a can of soday and some beans being "used" in the lower story. Caused me to train my rifle on the stairs, previously I had been looking around the castle. If he hadn't opened that can, he could've snuck up on me. I later dubbed him the "supply-russian" cause he had all the things we didn't and he basically just brought it to us.

Airfield story: Me and my buddy BAEM met up just north of the NWAF, at the end of the mountain trail, looking for an ATV to get around faster. Needless to say, we had no luck. So instead we decide to make a loot-run to the airfield, check the barracks, maybe get some NVGs and other gear. We do an inventory check to see if all our gear survived the re-log. It did. I still had my FAL with 6 mags and my 1911, and BAEM was still carrying his AKM with plenty of ammo to go around and his silenced M9. With this, we were equipped for nearly all situations. His AKM would be able to hold off larger amount of zombies while only making a moderate ruckus, His pistol would be perfect against single zeds, while my pistol would be good for smaller groupings of the bastards. And of course, my FAL, which is an amazing piece of hardware and would be pefect in fighting other players, with the only real shortcoming being the loud report. So we moved in....slowly, carefully...not seeing a thing. We're coming from the northwest and pass the first two hangars when I suddenly spot them: two players. My hearrate goes up and hit the PTT Pixel: "Players...two players!" BAEM: "Where? I don't see them!" Pixel: "By the treeline, right next to that little building there, should I open up?" BAEM: "Hang on....yeah I got it, bag 'em!" I open up with my FAL. The first guy has not even a remote chance of survival, he gets two .308 rounds dead center into his back, going down, very dead. The second player moves away into the trees, I can't see him anymore and decide to save the incredibly rare ammo for my FAL. I leave it to BAEM instead, who sprays the little wooden area with his AKM. Unsure if he hit something, he stops shooting, there's no return fire. We don't know if the guy is still there, if he's hurt or not, if he moved away or simply disconnected. But we don't see any player moving and there's no incoming fire, so we decide to solve our next problem: zombies. Even the two lone shots from my FAL attracted every zombie in the area. We deal with them, using our pistols. We quickly move away from our current position, but we still want to check the dead body/bodies we created. So me make a long-arched turn and move into the little tree area. I crawl to the body and check his gear... Pixel: "A CZ550, guess he was the sniper of the two....ALICE Pack....Revolver.....HOLY SHIT! That dude has nightvision!" BAEM: "You goddamn lucker, that's what? The third set you found?" Pixel: "Yes, the third, but I never kept them long, I swear to god those things are cursed. I want to keep this longer than two hours without dying. We should move out, we made too much noise anyway." BAEM: "No way dude...you got your share of loot now, I still want mine, we're checking the barracks at least." So I accept and we move to the barracks. We hear an M16 firing on the far end of the airfield, by the other barracks, nothing to worry about if we're fast. We move in, of course we find nothing of use, the place has been picked clean more than once already. BAEM pouts cause he got no gear out of it, and we decide to leave. We exit the barracks and head straight north, deciding to leave the airfield now. BAEM goes first, I'm behind him. He crosses the little road, I look left and right for anything unusual when suddenly he yells. "PLAYER! right next to me, he just logged in!" I had my FAL on the guy faster than BAEM could unsling his AKM and I bagged him. Of course, that brought another wave of zombies down on us. Not really a problem, I unholster my M1911 and hit the PTT. "Just run man, we'll deal with them outside, but we need to get out!" But just as I had stashed my highly effective FAL away to use the flimsy M1911 against the zombies, I hear a rifle go off and BAEMs frantic shouts. "There's another one!! Ghillie suit, by the trees! I'm hit!" I make a dash across the road, intent on just getting the hell out...I take a hit...but minor...must be an M4 he's using. I slow down to give some supressive fire onto the trees he's in (with a 1911...yeah that's a clever idea...) and keep moving. I make it through the large hole in the ground, still my 1911 in hand, zombies hot on my tail, I lost sight of BAEM and the other player, which is a problem cause they're both in a ghillie suit. I move back out of the hole, towards the gorious exit. I keep telling myself "you're gonna make it! You can go back for BAEM, you're gonna make it!" Suddenly I see a guy in the ghillie steps out from in between the trees...and the one moment it took me to determine that this guy was holding an M16 and therefor is NOT BAEM, were my doom. He opened fire, I opened fire. I empty my 1911 towards him, I'm sure I hit but he didn't drop. And just as I shot off my last round I hear the sickening CRACK of my own leg, the bone succumbing to a bullet. I drop down, hit, bleeding, unable to move. I'm still conscious...but the zombies get me and beat me. I go unscious. But I can still watch the scene unfold and talk to BAEM. Pixel: "I'm down! But he's hit, get him!" BAEM: "I'm hit myself!" I keep watching...and I see BAEM come out of the trees as well. He's shooting his AKM at full auto. BAEM: "I got him, he's dead..." Pixel: "Can you get to me?" BAEM: "No man, I'm not gonna make it, I got zombies all over..." And just then I see him go down from zombie hits. I finally bleed to death in a middle of a warzone, with zombies snarling all over. BAEM passes not long after me and we take a breath. BAEM: "Well....I mean...it sucks that we're dead, but that was fucking amazing!" Pixel: "I just set a new record bro. I didn't even have those damn NVGs for 10 minutes, I told you they are cursed!" I'm telling you all, I'm never picking up NVGs again...even I find a whole bag of them, they're bad news, I tell you!

No No. There's one of those barricades blocking the street, you find them everywhere...the thing is, moving into Lopatino from the south, the road is sloping. And if you're coming from the south and use first-person you don't see the barricade until you're over the slope, and at that point, you're only about 30 meters away from it, which doesnt give you enough time to stop the car before you slam into izt.
