Wow! This is extremely thought out, man! Fantastic ideas! I love the depth that you put into the realism of bandaging and such. I don't think it's listed, but. . What do you think about the idea of Removing Bandages that are on you (Provided they become attached to the character model as a viewable item both physically and in inventory) - and being able to Reuse the Bandage? Of course by reusing a used bandage, the condition of it would have to appear as Bloody - But this would allow players to boil their old bandages back to a Damaged state at least. To add even more dependence on Bandages rather than Rags, Rags could only be listed as Damaged (when first gathered). This would really only work if, as you said, medicine and medical supplies were like gold.

Hey man! Thanks for the support and glad you like that idea! I thought it seemed rather simple to allow players to do so and the amount of interactions - and scenarios - by adding this change are just so immense. I do hope a Dev will look it over! Also, I've spoken on this a few times, but at the end of the week (Friday) I'm departing for more training in the USAF and to be placed overseas in either Japan or Prague, most likely, and won't be able to keep this post up. If anyone would like to do so - or even start a new thread - or a Moderator could take over also if they wished. I'm going to update the title of this post to be Community's Mega-Thread of Desirable Changes!

Well, I think there's a caveat that could be utilized within the current system of medical - Something to give it purpose. As of now, when we inspect an unconscious/dead person, we check their pulse for information. Technically, wouldn't it be smart to allow the defibrillator to allow to change that status back to "Has a pulse, etc.." Of course by doing this change, we would have to either slate a new design query for inspect when someone is DEAD DEAD - Or change the model of the character to be in a unique death pose (Which doesn't sound great) or make the character appear deeply contrasted (Perhaps GREY) to symbolize a corpse.

Fair enough. Thanks for the reply, guys. Looks like I won't see any new content for a long ass time >.< Leaving this Friday to go back to an AF training school and be stationed overseas. On the up hand, maybe when I actually do see the light of day the game will actually be finished

I'd rather like the Master Infected to also be implemented in the real game as well. A chance when attacked by Infected to receive the Infection (Already in game files) - But if they die with that disease, there screen goes red instead of black with a message *RAAAAAAGH!* I think it would deeply enhance the game to have certain players playing this role in the sandbox version, albeit there would be no timer or goal other than the natural game mode *Survive*. However, this would create a 'Juggernaut' enemy that could bring players together in wishes to hunt it down, or simply to survive it. Also, the Infected Master would give the Infection on a much higher percentage when striking players. Perhaps limit the Masters to about 5-10 maximum on a server. -
I'd love for there to be new types of areas within our own map expanse. I know that our current map is WIP, but I would love for there to be a more southern continent below Cherno across the ocean. It could be extremely urban and be a cityscape, perhaps hosting a military base in the heart of it. . This could be largely Infected and quite a horror to explore. . but also provide large gains towards those who venture in and are successful.

You know, besides 1911 clips, I find this to be one of the most mischievous ammo. . Occasionally, I find a ridiculous amount just flooding through normal homes. . Then there's full playthroughs of 8 hours where I never even find any of it. . It's generally just in homes to my knowledge.

I've always thought this to be a rather awesome idea to give Infected a personality that is not completely dissimilar from players. Set them to track through towns, wilderness, and buildings in search of food and water. . and possibly even heat. . I'd love to see a few even carrying melee weapons to enhance the 'Oh crap' factor xD -
Please share this in a new Suggestion topic! This is lovely. It's always bothered me that we can see so far inside of forests and even to other towns that are ridiculously far away. I know of no woods in RL that are so easily spaced out. . I think this would definitely excite the current atmosphere and bring some freshness to Chernarous :)

Survive how you can. This is the apocalypse. Sometimes killing is necessary. . But I will say that the game is infinitely enriched by helping others and then obtaining their friendship. It's up to you. . War never changes :)

Fair enough :) My thought was that suddenly tents would become a lot more popular and more sought out, making it dangerous no matter what. - But to depower the benefit, the storage space of the tents could be severely reduced to carry like 20 space, that way players couldn't amass a ridiculous amount of goods. The primary benefit being that you can spawn back to your tent and maybe acquire the one gun you could place in it as well as bullets.

I had an idea after I stole a car and tent from some military guys tonight. . What if as an added bonus to having a tent up in the world, it would allow the player to spawn back on their camp whenever they were killed. - This would benefit players who are working together, are hoarding supplies, and it's an easy access point for regearing. It would definitely save time, that's for sure. What do you think?

In the real world, yes haha. But in DayZ, and I know you know what I mean, there's specific animations for certain actions. . At least at the moment. Could certainly be Working In Progress.

To my knowledge, I didn't think it actually forced you to stand or change your stance when you wake from Unconsciousness. If I'm wrong then. . Hm. Agree with action being in the characters hands. - Unless you're eating/drinking/bandaging. Then you oughta to get into the right position.

Thanks for reiterating your information to me :) I can see your points and how they'd severely ruin loot distribution for players that are playing publicly and why the type of AdminLootHouse is pretty BS. However, that does go back to my reasoning that this is the reason why I stick to Private Hives. This kind of stupid noncompetitive looting so that others can go to normal public hives and play war is not in the spirit of the game and it ruins the 'fairness'. I hope to see it changed, but I'm unsure on a solution. . Other than stay on Private Hives that are respected and play right. Don't give creeps a chance. PS: I am an advocate for having to start over your character when moving across servers. I know there's plenty of argument against it and I'm not going to beat the drum atm, but. . These kind of issues arise from exploiting and from kitting by server hopping to a nondangerous server so that they can gear without the resistance of the true experience. -

Personally, this is the reasoning for my only playing on a select Private Hive - Because I don't care for server hopping methods to kit yourself. The only realllllll PvP out there is when things aren't really in your favor and everything is a surprise. This makes bloody areas like Military Fields, Police Stations, and the coast to be truly hell. . And it's the best. As for Helicopters, the only thing I'd be pleased with is if the spawns were more spread out and randomized - And perhaps a few more. . Or if not more Helis, then begin fitting gear in certain broken tanks/armored cars near towns as well. -
I recommended as a performance boost, which it does do, in FPS. It's nothing huge, but it does work. I know it's WIP, but I use it pretty regularly and don't mind not being able to see the tacked on statuses.

Wow. I only joined DayZ in the endings of November 15' and have never touched the Mod, as I'm kind of an elitist xD The fact that this SA broke away and began its' own march is incredibly brave. Now, when it comes to Infected/Zombies or whatever people would like. . I would be extremely happy to see MORE types of Infected and just denser population as well. Good post. I think you're quite right that players would go wild for them, even if they were stupid as hell. It'd be cool to see what a Dev/Mod thought about that! -

Also, to boost FPS slightly, open up your Properties in Steam for DayZ and Set Launch Options to -newui This will update you to a WIP build that helps smooth things over. It'd not perfect and it needs work, but to my knowledge it's better for performance.

Welcome to DayZ! There's tons of servers out there depending on your gaming style! First thing to know about DayZ is. . don't get attached to your loot, breathe out when you're killed - it will happen - And don't trust every voice, or every body that may see. There's good peoples in the community, but many others will backstab you or outright murder you. Be cautious! :D There's First Person Perspective only servers (Limited, but seen as more 'hardcore'. A few cater to Roleplayers, if that's your bag.) There's also Third/First person perspective. (If you're looking for the general feel of the game, most play on this type.) Your system looks pretty good, dude. I can't tell you where you'd best placed for performance/best graphics - But I'd say probably High for 30-45FPS, perhaps. Play with the dials and see what works for you. Feel free to ask questions! May you always eat beans :)
