Honestly, if this were fixed to these levels, I wouldn't have a complaint or care in the world for anything further out of this game. . It would alleviate so much of the frustration I have of the monotonousness of it all. Other things would be welcomed - Even more guns or clothes - But Zombies first. Then atmospheric things and survival flavors.

What is your honest opinion on the future of DayZ

Honestly, I'm losing my damn patience with this progress. The Devs don't seem to be very socially adept at all or have a good work ethic. I have no clue how large the team is, but it's clear that they need more people or a new manager to whip their ass into work. Biggest gripe is the focus on MORE guns/clothing? Why the hell do we need more so quickly? It is not even relevant to the whole theme of this game as a Zombie Survival game if there are NO Zombies to survive from! Gah. >:( There is much more to add to make this a gem, but man is my faith wavering hardcore. -
Looked back into Dev Tracker to see where to find the post that Status Updates would be coming out Once a week (Or was it two?) and found this: https://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/229665-if-you-want-to-stop-that-damn-vehicle-in-no-time-look-no-further-rpg-is-coming/ Why the hell has it been 2 months since we were told we'd be getting an RPG and there's a ANOTHER one here? Good God. Please stop working on silly things and pump out the Mass Zombies with Intelligent AI.. I can guarantee you that the majority of us would no longer complain if their zombies were actually a threat and a CORE part of this game instead of an afterthought. Can a Dev puh-lease give us some new information on them? It's literally the main reason why I was attracted to this game in the first place and I just don't see it getting any due justice or absolute focus.

Updated post to include a Removal of Inventory TAB/Updated Bag Entrance section!

I agree. . But until there is some kind of gamma limit/autobalancer of light for ALL computers, players will utilize the gamma/brightness feature to make it unrealistic. Honestly, I'd prefer there to be even dark ass places in the day time - Inside buildings for instance. Real lighting would be amazing.

All my beans.

Definitely been said before, but yes, I want this very badly. I think it'd be better off if there were simply corpses all over. . Some in the roads. . Some in the ditches. And even in buildings. These 'Sleepers' could wake out of that bunch randomly and charge you. The atmospheric horror that would bring would be amazing. It's in my suggestion list also.
-
Actually. . This entire idea could be molded to even say, The Infected are allergic to light. . Meaning, the majority of them stalk inside buildings during the day. . and at night, they go to the roads and roam around in large quantities.

Devs! One question! - What is the current progress on the Infected Horde Populations/Enhancing Zombie AI? I just want this one question to be answered in earnest. As much as new pretty shiny things can add more to the game, DayZ needs to work on the Infected and make them the monstrous horror that we all wish them to be. I don't think I'd have even ONE outstanding complaint after that. . Weather, More Vehicles, More Guns/Items, Etc - All of this can proceed afterwards for flavor, but we're all ready to TEST extreme populations of Infected (With Intelligence AI that semi-roams, beating down doors to come after you/climbing ladders even to reach you, and swarming you like pack animals.) Please give an answer if you find the time.. I'm getting a little discouraged with the present state of things.

Played for about 30 minutes until the server restarted. Came down from my wilderness lodge and -walked- into town.. Saw a few zombies and just went around. I found a dead body completely stripped so I looked around. A minute later a voice called out so I went inside a building and stared out. Two guys came running in with guns drawn so I killed them. No feeling anymore. Turns out they had no bullets for their guns, but I didn't feel like dying from strangers. Oh well.

What is your honest opinion on the future of DayZ

I haven't been a part of this community for as long as a grand majority of a lot of you, but I've put a lot of my valuable hours into it because I really enjoyed the potential of it. . Of learning new things and how the system works. But over time, my personality in the game has gone from seeing someone and automatically being SO happy and trying to initiating friendships - to being an outright killer. . It's been a hard lesson to learn because in general I WANT to feel attached to my character AND to have an ounce of care for others' as well. - But truly the only fun I even have on the limited time I spend here now is really either running alone for hours on end, being murdered without any reason, or straight up killing others myself. The worst thing about DayZ at the moment is the utter lack of care I have for my own life, besides the stupid, predictable, atrociously available gear that is completely inconsequential, and the complete lack of desire to even raise my voice any longer. The only thing left to do in the game that has any real feeling to it is murder. And honestly, if I want to just play a distanced shooter, Battlefield 4/Hardline is better. Until the Devs really surprise us with the actual shit that this game promises (Zombies that are a serious threat, Actual Survival depth, Base Building) it is absolutely weak and simply not a good product. I have hope that maybe this game will eventually develop itself out. . The question is, will anyone even give a damn by the time they've got their shit together? I hope the Devs read all of this and respond in kind. . Or all the time any of us have put in has truly been a waste. -
I wouldn't mind firing an RPG. . That's pretty neat. Good Status Update, guys. I hope that these things go into Public Testing phase soon and that the .60 Stable is late next month, as you say.

Yeah man! I like the idea! It's supposed to be a game-changing situation that gives you a beneficial boost for a short while so you can *attempt* to get the upper hand on someone/something that's got your life in their hands.
-
I feel like the longer I play this game waiting for content the more I walk down the dark path and simply play to kill others. The sense of being alone is very strong - and it is compelling to meet another. But right now, without much else to do. . It's either kill each other, or team up with them to kill others.
-
Just a fun discussion to have :) I personally want Enhanced Ambience and Updated Infected/Dense populations.
-
Bump! Still here for a little while. Changing the title before I go - If it falls after that, I hope the knowledge is passed on :)
-
Hahaha you know, as much as I try to be neutral and antisocial without engaging others in the game much, I can admit to having that same thrill when you take on others. That crazy excitement is probably the longest lasting and jolting emotion you can gain from this game as of right now, except boredom. I like your take and honesty about why you murder xD Very enjoyable video man.

TENTS and PERSISTENCE, Keep-Out PUBLIC SERVERS and THE DEVS
Espa replied to pilgrim*'s topic in Suggestions
Just an interesting idea for a solution to the abuse we see: What if by server hopping from Public to Public, all goods are kept that are on character - except weapons. So while someone may be kitted up and have tons of ammunition, this would prevent people from going to No-Challenge Servers to Full Population where they can go on killing sprees. It at least hinders them by creating an obstacle that they'd have to overcome that is just as dangerous as everyone else who is playing the real experience. -
So... What's that about? I'd hate to get my hopes up for something amazing coming out of the woodworks xD Is this normal and am I not the only one who's perplexed - or am I just overthinking the business? Haha.
-
I'd be impressed if someone was legitimate about coming to pick you up with their car >.> For all they could know, you just want to shoot them and take their fixed up vehicle lol Granted, the same could be said about someone who's like, "Oh yeah! I'll come help you out, Mate!" And then is really just a murderer xD

TENTS and PERSISTENCE, Keep-Out PUBLIC SERVERS and THE DEVS
Espa replied to pilgrim*'s topic in Suggestions
Good idea. I'd like this in effect so that we can stop loot abuse and hinder those who have Kick Servers. -
Super good clip! Love artistic stuff like this :D Good job!!
-
Gotcha. I just think of the durability of a bandage being used many times. . Wouldn't it degrade, even if sterile? Just a tidbit! I enjoy all of this business and hope to see it uploaded into the game. More variables to need to take care of is important!

Brainstorm a DAYZ TvT idea with me (originally BrianStorm)
Espa replied to OrLoK's topic in General Discussion
I actually think the ability to Team-Kill is rather realistic. It's an unfortunate occurrence, but if we put friendly fire on in a game mode, it would only serve to make the game feel cartoony (To me, at least) As for more thoughts on the TvT Game Mode - Or simply uploading the Infected Masters to the base game - I'm very hopeful that this could be done well with a humongous amount of possibilities. Infected Ideas: First of all, I imagine that the Infected Masters would have a unique character model (Or a few - Guy/Gal) - or simply be an addition to a player model. Perhaps they're. . purplely grey? Second of all, to truly make these baddies a true scare - allow them to have twice the amount of stamina as normal players, allow their movement speed to be something like 50% faster, and of course increase their durability to around 3X the amount of a normal players. -Also their melee attack ought to be pretty devastating, around the damage of a small firearm. -These guys ought to be a sight that you see and go, "OH SHIT!" - And attempt to hide, run away, or go guns blazing. Third of all, allow the Infected Masters to continue to respawn without any set number of lives. - This could be transmitted to dead survivors so that their next life would be a Infected Master rather than a Survivor - But this would also provide the Infected Masters' death to return to a fresh Survivor (Albeit eating up a set Survivor life-line) Fourth of all, in a population of 50 players, allow there to be 5-10 Infected Masters at any given time. (Or 10/20% of current population) Survivor Ideas: -Allow the player to start at one of the most northern towns. -Give the player slightly enhanced inventory than the base game - Such as a flashlight, knife, rags, battery, upgraded radio (So players can communicate), and small backpack. Game Goals! Survivor Win: The players have marched down to Cherno and have fixed the radio beacons at the top of the school, industry, and police station - and have called the U.N. Relief Boat to the dock. OR have fixed up the cargo plane at the Berezino Airfield and taken off. Infected Win: The Infected have overrun the Survivors! All Life-Lines have been murdered. (Probably set at 100 to allow a 50 population server a technical 2 lives for each survivor.) OR have held off the Survivors from fixing the Radio Beacons for 3 hours, causing the U.N. Relief Boat to pass. --- Of course, I still believe that these guys could be placed into the base game without the Game Goals at all. Simply an addition to fear - and an incredibly dangerous player-controlled monster. Criticism?
