  2. Sometimes I wonder if an inaccessible densely wooded area would work better as a map border, but those types of map borders (Fallout for example) always just make me angry that I can't explore them.

    I played a bit on NE 0-2 today in and around NWAF/Vybor area today. Me nor any of the 3 guys I was playing with heard any distant shots the whole time, we could hear each other's shots when we were in view and less than 50m of each other, and we also heard shots from people who were very close, but we heard no distant shots. I shot a guy who killed one of my friends with SKS about 150m away from the lone brown house to the west of Stary Sobor, and my friend in the house didn't even hear the shot or any of the Blaze shots that killed his friend, making him completely unaware of the sniper's position. I don't know if it's just on certain servers but we couldn't hear the majority of shots fired during the play session, and it seemed to have something to do with distance. It also rained on the server and I had a great time shooting a couple deer and hunkering down in a shed to warm up and cook the meat. The survival is real :D

    I had similar bug near Veresnik hill with AMD graphics card. It only happened when I used right click to zoom, it stopped after leaving the area.

    Yeah I would like more unripe/rotten apples that'd be cool ------ There might be a sound glitch with the M70 Winchester. I was in the deer stand above Staroye and my friend was on the hill about 150m away and he shot Winchester twice and I couldn't hear it. Later on, we were on Veresnik hill and 2 people sprinted up to my friend and started spraying him with AK. I killed the first with a Winchester and the other didn't even turn around to see who shot his friend. He just kept shooting at my friend and I killed him as well. My other friend less than 100m away in the base said he couldn't hear any of my shots either. Edit: come to think of it my friend didn't hear any of the multiple gunshots on the hill from their AKs or my Winchester. I think sounds might just be glitched overall. We could hear some shots but in those 2 instances we didn't.

    In previous patches shotgun blasts to limbs only broke bones and dealt no health or blood damage. My friend is loyal because he agreed to shoot me for science.

    I don't know if this has been discussed yet, but shotguns got changed. I had my friend blast me point blank in the calves with a double barrel and it killed me instantly. My blood went from 4800+ to -90 and I was dead! They also cause bleeding now.

    Can someone explain this phenomenon to me ?

    I think it's because when a player empties an ammo box and has no room left, it turns into a piece of paper and stack of ammo, the ammo goes in player's inventory and the paper is created on the ground, making it count as a spawned item and therefore persist like one. This is just something I heard, but it seems to make sense.

    I thought it might be just because I was hitting in the back of the head, but I also 1 hit sneak-killed zombies in the side and front of the head. I thought it might've been desync too, but it was pretty consistent that non-aggro required 1 headshot while aggro required multiple. I can see why this would work with weak melee weapons as it would be much easier to deal a lethal blow undetected, but it doesn't make sense with guns as the bullet would do the same damage regardless.

    Made it my personal mission to test the long wooden stick today. On surprise attacks it almost always 1 hit kills zombie to the head. When the zombie is aggro'd however, it's gonna be a 6-8 hit kill with the stick to the head. The aggro seems to be the deciding factor with the stick. The Sporter is acting strange, I hit a zombie 3 times in the head with it to kill it with aggro, 1 hit without aggro.

    Yeah same, I've got a couple one-hit kills but I think it's mostly when I get a free stab in the back of the head. Haven't had much PvP with a stick so I can't tell if they changed that. Recently I've had 2 friends die because they couldn't tell they are being shot without the snap sounds. All the sounds are great but the snaps are some of my favorite ugh it's frustrating!!!

    Anybody else notice they nerfed the long wooden stick? Used to be a 1 hit kill in the head for zombie and people but it seems to take 6-7 hits now.

    @Noctoras I agree and I'm eager to see the survival elements become more of a necessity in DayZ. .61 has been a harsh but awesome reminder of how grueling the survival struggle can be like huddling next to a fire to stay warm then realizing you're on the brink of starvation. Can't wait for more exciting ways to struggle on this game xD

    I thought the tiny dot worked perfectly as a sight. There are multiple things that the new sight affects though, such as the position of the gun vs the position of the player's eyes (when swinging a gun left to right) and it's nice to have that info sometimes.

    This patch... so many zombies! It's freakin' glorious, they chased me and my crew out of Elektro haha. I've been testing the cannibal mechanics recently, and it seemed like human steak took longer to cook over an open fire than chicken? Cannibalism seems a viable survival option on the coast with the lack of food resources there (just make sure you cook the meat!) Also the game seems quite choppy and I'm getting fewer fps than usual.

    Haha I leave my mic on when talking shit in game half the time anyway. Sometimes I'll go through cities singing with the mic open just for the hell of it xD. Really like having a mic icon though.

    I heard huge bangs going off at Balota airfield. Went closer to find a single survivor holding off 30+ zombies with a trumpet. We laughed about how loud the trumpet was, ditched the zeds and continued towards Kamenka. I ended up getting killed by a kid screaming about "Blue Pants Lives Matter" but whatever, it was still a good time rolling with the first guy. Choose your encounters.

    I went into a shed to trap some zombies in and barely squeezed through as I was shutting the door. I ran away, but kept getting yanked back to the room as I was running, I relogged outside in the grass and when I was back in I was inside the room again. Also, I went in a house, opening the doors as I walked in, and my character starting bouncing around the house off the walls. I used my hotbar to pull out a weapon and sprinted out of the house and that fixed it. Also I ran into a very sad and angry person on the coast who "just wanted to get his first kill on .61" I hope he enjoys the ammo rarity. :)

    Joined NE-01 and was 36 in queue. After about 30 minutes I was in and server crashed, and kept crashing every 2-5 minutes when I rejoined. I switched to SC-06 and it stayed up for a long time, 30 mins before first crash and then played for about 45 more minutes before logging out. Infected seemed really slow, and the best way to deal with them was to lock them in houses or run away since they're pretty dangerous with melee combat. Jumping works great, except when I'm walking against a fence it seems to take a few tries, in the open jumping is very responsive. I had to build a campfire to keep from freezing to death. YAY!

    Morale System

    I agree with @Decembrie, the morale system is already in a game and shouldn't be underestimated. Whether alone or in a group, morale already plays a huge role on what encounters you survive, what risks you take etc. Everyone reacts psychologically to the choices they make in game and to force everyone to have the same psychological effect would take away some of the randomness imo.

    It's pretty silly to complain about there not being enough stuff on the coast, but honestly I'd just like to see a reason to go to Novodmitrovsk, Cernaya Polana, or NEAF again

    Stable Branch - 0.60 Discussion

    Plate carrier items spawn in Russian and American heli crash sites, I have a full set now and found the final piece at an American heli. I've found a couple smersh vests at Russian helis but no backpack yet. I haven't seen a 75rnd akm mag in a long time.
