What do you use your mouse buttons for in DayZ? Do you actually use the mouse buttons while you play? I've been trying to think of something that would be practical to use the mouse for. Currently I have a Razer Deathadder and I use the 2 buttons on the side for increasing/decreasing zeroing and I use the middle button for throwing. I use them but it's not often that I'm zeroing or throwing something.

I like the zooming idea, I was trying to use my mouse buttons for combat-specific actions but my hands usually get too shaky in combat to press the right mouse button lmao
-
I think the justification people usually use is that the players are "immune" and most people in the world weren't, so when we get hit by zombies (which happens often) we would become sick if we were regular people.

I actually still think the cold is underpowered :3 but that's just me LOL. The main problem I have is that the temperature changes are unrealistic atm For one, people don't drop 2 degrees of body temp every second they stand still and somehow magically maintain body temperature simply by sprinting If you've tried sprinting in cold weather you would know it gets exhausting and your lungs get cold fast

I've heard multiple people who have tried PVE only servers say that it is the most boring way to play the game. Personally I just like to make goals like assemble a ghillie suit, hold someone up, or just playing with friends. I agree there needs to be more focus on PVE because the end game of killing people with the loot you've acquired is silly for a survival game. Clearing towns of infected should be a big and fun ordeal. But hey if the game is not doing it for you then stop playing. There's nothing that turns people off more than feeling obligated. Maybe check back later to see how much it's changed. I feel like the new animation system is going to help out melee and zombie combat so I'm eager to see that.

Yeah the game is much better, my only advice is stick to private servers, hi pop public servers suffer multiple performance issues which nobody seems to mention here. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

It's funny how very reliable weapons IRL (Mosin, .22 sporter) are so quickly damaged. I don't have a strong opinion on this because ALPHA but still, just kinda funny. However, when you think of the fact weapon cleaning kits are what's used to increase gun condition in the game, it makes sense guns degrade quickly because they must be cleaned regularly to keep operating correctly.

You made a BI Forums account to say that you want a refund lol? If you don't like taking chances and waiting on development don't by Early Access it's that simple buddy

I only use 3PP because I enjoy looking at my character while he's running for a while or next to a fireplace, in animations etc. I never use it for combat because I feel it makes me play differently.
-
I feel like this is a bit too controlling honestly, yeah 3pp corner peeking is fucking lame for gunfights, but I honestly feel the less the game TELLS you what to do, the better. 1PP Servers are still there *tries to conceal laughter*

Just got my ears melted off in a firefight with the new sounds and the varieties of zips/snaps, they're awesome!

Yeah, rotten food would be awesome to have again, maybe a chance of apples picked from a tree being rotten. Also I feel like the zombie combat isn't as enjoyable as it could be.

To me, this game at its core is a Survival game, not a PvP game. I like running around the map, making goals for my character and just surviving. When I run into someone randomly, the PvP feels so exciting and rewarding. My pulse goes way up, my hands start to shake and I'm engaged in this gritty fight for survival. However, when I play specifically for the PVP and go to dangerous areas just for that purpose, I end up feeling like I'm wasting my time; kills don't feel as satisfying and deaths make me feel like a worthless sack of potatoes. Anyway this makes me wonder if anyone can relate. What makes PvP in DayZ fun to you?

"ERMERGERD! Zombies got in the way of my epic KoS PvP!!! Game's broken!" lol nice video
-
Defibrillators do work in that they return a player's pulse to normal if it becomes irregular, but irregular pulses don't have any negative effects yet so there's no practical use for defibs.

I like the mechanic because when you think about it, most stuff in a backpack is kinda lumped together anyway and if a powerful round burst through all that stuff, you'd be hard pressed to find stuff that wasn't busted up after that. Also if you've noticed when you're hit by say a .22 or .380 your stuff is less likely to be catastrophically damaged. Like many other things in this game it could use some tweaking but I like the incentive to hold people up instead of blast them, and sometimes you get genuine dismay after finding out you've ruined everything that could've been useful on a character's body. Side note I really hope sorting out ammo comes back :X

I really hope snow gets into the game, mods are great and all but many just don't measure up quality-wise. To have winter weather in the core experience would be mind blowing, We have winter hunting jackets so one can dream

These map changes will bring back NEAF era emptiness of the west.
Kohlbar replied to Connect3d's topic in General Discussion
I never played when NEAF was a proper military base, but I remember when it was quite when it was likely to have pistols and ammo like Magnums or 1911, and maybe an SKS and a few rounds at one of the tanks. I hope they buff the NEAF so people at least have a reason to visit again. It was one of my favorite places, but it's really barren now. Also why no more Mosins on the coast? D: It's such a *civilian* weapon! -
Seasons would be so cool... there's winter hunting outfit in the game so fingers crossed I guess

I think the debug zone is immersion breaking, cant we make cherno an Island?
Kohlbar replied to degoe's topic in Suggestions
Sometimes I wonder if an inaccessible densely wooded area would work better as a map border, but those types of map borders (Fallout for example) always just make me angry that I can't explore them. -
Can someone explain this phenomenon to me ?
Kohlbar replied to General Zod's topic in General Discussion
I think it's because when a player empties an ammo box and has no room left, it turns into a piece of paper and stack of ammo, the ammo goes in player's inventory and the paper is created on the ground, making it count as a spawned item and therefore persist like one. This is just something I heard, but it seems to make sense. -
@Noctoras I agree and I'm eager to see the survival elements become more of a necessity in DayZ. .61 has been a harsh but awesome reminder of how grueling the survival struggle can be like huddling next to a fire to stay warm then realizing you're on the brink of starvation. Can't wait for more exciting ways to struggle on this game xD

I also saw a fishing vest one time in a sports store and thought it would make a great civilian vest type that could spawn on boats
-
I thought the tiny dot worked perfectly as a sight. There are multiple things that the new sight affects though, such as the position of the gun vs the position of the player's eyes (when swinging a gun left to right) and it's nice to have that info sometimes.

I agree with @Decembrie, the morale system is already in a game and shouldn't be underestimated. Whether alone or in a group, morale already plays a huge role on what encounters you survive, what risks you take etc. Everyone reacts psychologically to the choices they make in game and to force everyone to have the same psychological effect would take away some of the randomness imo.
