    Does he have to be? If you could actually read then you would know the answer. First off, you already missed his post and second, it says ACCORDING TO THE DESIGNERS. What do you think that means? Geez might or might not be a developer but he does assign tickets to developers so he either is a developer himself or works with the developers.

    Built walls despawning?

    Cars are a different subject. I think when you drive with them or interact with their storage, that the persistence gets reset. But probably interacting with their inventory will do the trick as well. On the other hand, I think your car is despawning for a different reason. If you leave your car on a slope, leave it without wheels or in (certain) buildings, there is a very high chance that your car moves by itself on a restart or crash. I'm not sure what happens at that point because we can't see that, but chances are it moves into an object or flies up into the air and gets fucked up by that. After that, it despawns and your car is gone. When you park a car, make sure it's on relative flat terrain, doesn't touch an object, not in a building and that the wheels are not sticking in the ground.

    Well, I agree with that. This should've been in the changelog. But saying the developers broke it is subjective, since I and other people think it's a nice and good addition and that it makes sense.

    Instead of telling someone he doesn't know anything about the CLE and blaming the developers, how about you read sometime? It is INTENDED. Loot areas with a different loot area than a certain loot area are going to contain loot of that certain loot area now.

    In fact, yes, I've had walls despawn as well. At least, that is what I'm expecting. They're persistent 45 days but they need to be reset. I recently sent ImpulZ a message and asked how to reset them. He said interacting with the inventory is the way to go. He also said the best way to do this is to take some nails, add them to the wall and then take the nails again. This should reset the walls to 45 days again. I think this method works because on our server we have the BuildAnywhere mod where I have two walls build on top of each other. A while ago I reset all my walls where I build a platform to reach the top wall (adding the nails and planks) and on the top wall, I dismantled a part of the wall and build it back up again. Only my top walls despawned so dismantling and building it back up does not reset the persistence it seems.

    Idea with First person view

    The walkie-talkie would make sense, the chem light wouldn't. In order to make the chem light light up, you need to break it. So taking it in your hands makes sense. Also, have you tried putting your walkie on the hotbar and holding the key and see if that gives you the option? That might work as well.
  9. That is very true. I don't know a great deal about the Arma 2 lore but I know there was NATO intervention during the Chernarus civil war. Given all the guns which the U.S. uses, I'm assuming it was primarly U.S. forces. Although one EP is about the British (British Armed Forces) so some British weapons would make sense as well (hence the Lee Enfield in the mod). It might also be the case where the U.S. intervened under NATO and had expeditionary forces from other NATO countries.

    In the dayzOffline.chernarusplus folder there is a file called "cfgspawnabletypes.xml". In that file, there are items listed and you can list the attachments of the items and the chance percentage to make them spawn on the item. I don't know if you can configure that for the trader though.
  11. Here is the thing. There won't be hunderds of FAL, M249, MP5, etc. laying around because the majority of NATO guns will be the M4, since that is the standard issue. If one joins the army, they're not going to ask you "which weapon do you want?". Most of the army consists of people having the M4A1 and some specialists would have guns like the M249, FAL, etc. So there might be a M110 left behind in Cherarnus but not 100 of them. That's what I'm getting at. The majority of the NATO guns will be the standard issues like the M4A1, the NATO standard pistol, etc.
  12. They wouldn't fit honestly and I don't know why Arma 2 (at least the EP's) had so many different NATO guns. A place where NATO would intervene wouldn't have 1000 different type of NATO guns. They would have the M4A1 which is the standard issue and a few guns for specialized roles like the M249, a sniper-rifle kind of gun, etc. But there wouldn't be much of these specific guns around but rather the M4A1.
  13. The NATO weapons don't really fit the lore. There should be a few but not hunderds of them. Eastern weapons like AK variants, Bizon, Vityaz, old Soviet weapons, etc. should make more sense.

    I understand that the measure is there but is there no time-out or what ever? If I play on Server X on day 1 and Server Y on day 2 and get moved because of that, that doesn't really make any sense plus it beats the point of the public hive.

    People should NOT be forced to play on 1 public server. Why is there one big hive across multiple servers when you can only play at one server? The entire idea behind the public hive goes lost then. If I join a server, quit the game for 1 hour and go on another server, I should NOT be moved because I "server hopped".

    Where are you placing them? I believe that placing a barrel in (certain) buildings will make them despawn. When placing a barrel, make sure it doesn't stick in the ground.

    Well, it means that if it's true that it is a global BE ban, you will never play DayZ again. You probably have cheated or used macros or whatever in another BattleEye game, likely Arma or PUBG or something.

    Yes, you can use the Steam Workshop for that. Go to Browse -> Items -> Select either most popular (and time period total) or most subscribed.

    That is indeed correct. And about the servers, it highly depends on your preference. There are servers which are PvP-oriented/only, servers with increased loot, servers with decreased loot (DayZ Underground), etc.
  20. See, again, you didn't read. They clearly state that these servers will go offline and for that reason, they named them Persistence OFF. Also, there are console subforums and for each console. There is New Player Discussion, Recruitment, Trouble Shooting, Report a bug and the General forum and that for each console.

    How to ruin a private server.

    That is old info indeed. It didn't use to be that way but Bohemia decided to change that for certain things like assault rifles. It's their solution to balance that not everyone has assault rifles and 100 stored away. Honestly, it's a shite solution because now there are fuck all spawning which is not something we want either. Tents are the same deal, they don't spawn anymore after a few have been taken. Not entirely, it depends on the item. The VSS for example does affect the loot economy when a player picks it up.

    Gun Spawns

    Not sure if duping is still possible on Xbox but I know on the PC version, they made top-tier guns like AK's, M4's count in player storage as well. So if there is a maximum of 10 AK's allowed and players have stored 10 AK's away, none of them are going to spawn. Our server has been running for 1,5 month now and multiple people have visited multiple military bases and none have found assault rifles lately. It's because they all have been stored away in storage of players. My guess is, is that the developers want to prevent everyone running around with these guns. This does in theory work but it isn't very pracitcal. Usually guns in storage are laying there rotting away and no new players nor old players on the server can't find any now. I think the CLE needs a big overhaul because it has some gamebreaking flaws like this one.

    As far as I know, DayZ doesn't use a MySQL database, so not sure why you would have access to something like that.
