That the server files are obtained and/or game files is not a secret, the source files of 0.42 were leaked a long time ago. I also saw in what I believe was 0.59 or 0.60 a server where you spawned at an edited version of the NWAF with all kinds of buildings from tenament buildings to a school building. You spawned in fully kitted and ready to go and that was literally a deathmatch. It was fun and it was handy to improve your gun gameplay a bit. I'd rather see some of these server than 99 % of the servers where people do nothing than PvP. The funny thing was, it didn't need a cracked version of the game or what ever. I could use the original game to join the server.

Unfortunately the only way to ensure you have more interaction is if you find a suitable RP server. Most RP servers have a whitelist, are on a private hive and have certain rules on KoS. It doesn't necessarily mean that KoS is forbidden but they encourage interaction instead of shooting someone in the face, no matter the situation. If they don't follow the rules they will be punished for that of course. That's the only way at the moment to force players to use communications rather than bullets. Keep in mind, DayZ Underground doesn't have such rules, despite being a RP server. The majority of the people will probably welcome you with bullets instead of words. I suggest looking in the server list for a RP server and check their website if they have these rules.

Well that's not our main mission anyways. Like Emuthreat said, we basically make a decision on where to go or what to do and what happens along the way happens. This can be anything, PvP, having fun with the infected, hunting, etc. It's not like we go to NWAF to PvP, if we go there, we go to loot there and if it ends in PvP then so be it. That's the fun thing about playing this way, it makes the encounters much more special. Yeah, killing yourself to get that favorite spawn to get the best gear as soon as possible is hardcore survival. And filling someone up completly with lead until the point that all his/her gear is ruined is also hardcore survival. Also shooting everyone in the face without even interacting, specially bambi's is hardcore survival. /s Don't come and cry to me if it's not possible anymore because you need to really survive. I'll whip out my cooking pot, not to offer you water but to catch your tears *slurp slurp slurp*. But it's true, players are the biggest threat and that's because they're humans. However, not interacting and just ruthless murdering people is not what the game is meant for. Of course you can choose this path if you want to but sooner or later the game will make it harder and harder to just kill everyone you see without any form of interaction. Of course it's everyone's personal choice on how to play the game, after all that's what the goal of the game is. Although it makes me sad when the majority of the players just kill everyone they see, even the people who pose no threat to them like fresh spawns, etc. You will miss out on a potential fun/weird encounter and trust me if there is a game which has potential fun/weird encounters it would be DayZ! The only difference is, at some point stuff is going to run out. And then you need to resort to farming, raising animals for meat, etc. Also, bullets would be rarer and rarer as time goes on. You have no idea how a real apocalypse scenario would turn out but I'm confident that it isn't going to be the way you described it. Perhaps in the beginning but after a while resources are going to run out and from that point killing everyone you see will cost you eventually, perhaps it will cost you your life. Don't base realism on TV shows or movies because I have the impression that that's what you're doing. Sure, there will be rotten apples but not how it is in DayZ where almost everyone is a rotten apple. That's just because they can just pew pew in a more realistic way without having to think about feeding yourself, etc. I say let them go if they want to because DayZ is NOT going to turn out something like Escape From Tarkov. I also will probably play Escape From Tarkov but that's because I like open-world shooters which are kind of realistic. Of course I also like (hardcore) survival game and DayZ would be my go-to for that genre. It's just how BioHaze said, if you know how DayZ 1.0 is going to turn out then you know that the shooting everyone on sight is going to be something from the past. Although people like to think DayZ is PvP based and is always going to be, they are wrong. Why? Because Brian Hicks himself said "We want to see the game in a way where a player has to make the choice to either shoot that bullet with all possible consequences tied to it or choose to solve it another way". And that my friend is real survival. Making critical choices which can keep you alive or either can get you killed. You're wrong in this part because they want DayZ to be a somewhat REALISTIC survival SIMULATOR. I like the way how you think but you need to think a bit deeper to understand how humans would react to and behave in an apocalypse situation. All life forms on earth are interesting species, this includes humans. Humans NEED each other in order to stay alive, otherwise they go insanse and will be depressed and maybe even commit suicide. Also killing people when the world has gone to shit would be incredibly hard and specially when bullets run out. Killing someone with guns is easy but killing someone up close with a knife or what ever really takes some guts. Because you need to look them in the eyes while you do it, you will hear them scream from up close and will feel their pain. And it will be especially hard if they're innocent!

This mod is already out, you should definitely check it out: http://store.steampowered.com/app/292730/

Trust me, PvE functionality is tested. I hunt a lot, I fish sometimes, etc. And others I know do this stuff too. Don't pass on an herd of deer or cows or @emuthreat will get upset! Replacing food with other items can be replaced by other items but then the loot would stay the same except for food. The reason why they want to generally reduce canned goods is because of it makes the game easier and thus make survival easier and the PvE aspect easier.

For those who don't follow Experimental/the Experimental forum, vehicles made their comeback on the latest Experimental patch. I have to say they did a pretty damn fine job because there was almost no desync (as driver and as passenger) and handling the car also felt better. Vehicles are back and they are better than ever! Here are two clips showing the improved vehicles. The first clip is where I drive and the second clip is where BioHaze drives.
-
Thurman Merman, Starvingart and me already tested it. The desync problem with 2 vehicles near each other has been resolved. Although I noticed indeed some frame drops which people mentioned, specially if you look towards a vehicle but looking the other way you'll be fine. I think this might because of the items in the inventory of the vehicle but I'm not sure. I might hop on later but I'm not sure yet.

Alright, first of all on the topic of apples, in the future the apple trees and probably berry bushes will change into an inventory based system. Which means you will need to press TAB or search for apples and you will get an inventory menu and you can take the apples out of there. This means that apples aren't going to be infinite anymore and spamming doesn't work. You will be able to get a few apples but if the trees empty, it's empty. At least this is how I think it will work and I hope it will be balanced where apples are not the main source to get yourself energized, hydrated and healthy. In Experimental I tried to get healthy without the use of apples and I started to loot Berezino. Finding food was hard so I had to resort to farming which also didn't help that much but I could keep myself from starving by the bit of food I found and the crops I farmed. I finally got to healthy after I started fishing and that's how I like to see it. Loot the town for supplies and optionally farm crops to keep yourself from dying of starvation until you can hunt or fish which is a way better energy vs. stomach content ratio. Also, the developers are reducing loot or at least canned food with each build or patch. I think there are two reasons behind this. The first reason being that they need to analyze the data they get when they tweaked the loot. This takes time and after they analyzed it they can tweak it again and rinse and repeat. The second reason is to push the players slowly but surely towards the end game. If they suddenly reduce the loot severly there are going to be a lot of deaths and a lot of tears suddenly which results in gasoline cannisters full of tears to keep me hydrated (yeah, I live on those tears). The developers mentioned many times that DayZ isn't supposed to be easy but rather hard. And in the endgame we will see if they keep their words and in my opinion I'm sure they will and I'm seeing it happen even though it's slowly. Wait until the stamina system comes in with weight and no more endless running. In the latest status (or was it the 2016 review topic?) they mentioned that sprinting everywhere is going to be history because that's why there will be vehicles. On the topic of diseases, there already some diseases in and I peaked through the game files and there are already more diseases in but I don't know if they're active at the moment. But I saw someone mentioned cholera and that drinking from ponds need to have an higher risk. Perhaps you don't drink a lot from ponds but if you're not healthy and you drink from a pond without purifying your water there is an high chance you will catch cholera. And I believe cholera is at the moment the worst disease you can catch. Just like when you're soaked or drenched you need to act immediately or you'll die when you catch cholera. The problem is, cholera is a slow and torturing disease and it takes multiple hours to get rid of it. As soon as your get the red status messages all you basically can do is sit still because you're losing blood slowly and your hydration goes down hard which means if you move you'll lose even more hydration, speeding up the process of your death. I do hope they make wells a limited source of waters which slowly regenerates again just like I think how the apple trees are going to work. This will make it also harder to stay hydrated and you need to plan carefully with your hydration. In conclusion: at the moment DayZ is easy to survive although slowly but surely you can see they are pushing towards the PvE and survival aspect which is great. We will see survival getting harder and harder going towards the release of the game so I shouldn't worry about it too much now.

The server had only a couple of players in there, less than 10 people. It was Southcentral 0-2 which normally is always full but I guess that nobody really knew that this already hit Experimental and a lot of people are on Stable now as well. Audio level for other people are acceptable I believe, haven't really tested it. Although someone named Eddie Currants came racing through Berezino when I was a fresh spawn and I didn't hear him until I could see the car. As for the drivers and/or passengers the audio is very loud and you need to put your Effects volume down in order to hear other people on Teamspeak or to prevent yourself from going deaf. I'm up for that, I'm probably going to hop in, in about 30 minutes or so. I'll be on the Welcome to the Jungle Teamspeak server so if someone wants to test it let me know.

Recon costs 500 k now only since yesterday, before it was 208 k which is not that bad. I mostly play on the German side and I have 2 infantrymen, a tanker with all light tanks bought, a fighter pilot, a recon and a paratrooper and 95% of it is grinded. I do buy veteran membership each month, if I play that is. And that's because I like the game and want to give back to the developers. It isn't really pay 2 win in my eyes because sure, you can buy weapons faster or unlock things faster but this doesn't guarantee a win. It only gives you advantages over non-paying users. Also, I rarely see hackers and I believe I haven't seen one yet. But let's not go overboard here. If we want to discuss it further I guess we should continue it in our inbox. :P
-
And that's why I play Heroes & Generals. Well not entirely because I generally love World War 2 games and H&G is one of the best WW2 shooters at the moment which has come out and the best part of it: it's free!
-
Please rephrase it to "That's all people do because that's they think all there is to do". Even though I run with my fully kitted AKM with some other people we still rarely go somewhere to actually find 100 % PvP and instead go hunting deers, cows, wolves or do other stuff.

CLE: easier to get m4/mags than civilian weapons (now with expanded feedback)
IMT replied to Bororm's topic in General Discussion
What are you guys talking about? The popular military locations I visited are pretty barren. Also, I still have to find the M4 this patch. I do find ammo on a regular basis but what good is ammo if you can't find the gun? I like the current loot situation but I agree, military locations should still spawn less loot. But I don't want to see civilian guns increased either. There is an Improsived Bow in the game for a reason, use that. Also you are talking about "taking a spawn" @Bororm. But yet, you are complaining about the spawn points. Just be a man and keep your original spawn point. Even better, make sure you don't die. And on another note, the loot is getting tweaked all the time, this isn't the final situation. This game is still in development and tweaking the loot takes time because you need to gather the data and analyze it when there were new tweaks. So expect changes (some postive, some negative) throughout the development road still ahead of us. -
Thank you for sharing this with us, always nice to get some insider information. DayZ has seen some massive changes in 0.60 and 0.61 for me and slowly but surely we're going towards the game we like to see. 2016 has seen some great changes for DayZ, no doubt. But I'm sure 2017 will see even more changes and I can't wait for that. Take the deserved rest and recharge yourselfs to go fit and full of energy into 2017. I wish everyone of the DayZ Development Team and the community a merry Christmas and an happy new year!

That means there are 2 people who dropped that vial because this is in Pavlovo military base I believe and there is also one hanging at the town hall in Cherno. 2 deaths makes one innocent. One innocent may mean that the other one is innocent as well. Plot twist: you are the one who dropped the vial.

I have a question regarding tickets. Does it matter if you make a "duplicate" ticket, in other words "search before you post" or can I make a ticket for everything I find even though it might already be reported. I also need to start checking the feedback tracker more often because I sometimes get a reply and see the reply more than a week later. I might be on to something though, I got a memory crash when trying to make an Improvised Bow while I had a gun already on my back. I do think these memory errors are related to (other players') items and/or other players. When on Experimental I was looting Berezino and there were 3 players there as far as I know, probably even more and I got 2 or 3 crashes in a relative short time while on the first day of Stable I ran on a low pop and had no memory during multiple hours of playtime.

Have you tried it? My first reaction was "ok, where did it go?" whilst looking at the fireplace. Then I started to laugh: But normal fires work as intended luckily. It is nice that the crosshair is gone, it provides better screenshots. Now a way to remove the text messages temporarily in the left bottom corner and we're golden. I noticed a bug in the animal AI. Emuthreat and I noticed it first while tracking some deer. We heard the sound of them constantly go from east to west and we're wondering what's up with that. When we started to hunt them they ran of course. But they came back and ran again, and came back, etc. The same happened again yesterday with wolves. I finally made them flee with only 14 rounds left for my SKS and started to collect their juicy meat and did some inventory management. I thought it would be best to cook them a bit more north instead of right next to the northern highway. While going north I heard howles coming from the south and yep, there were they are again, three of them. Well, back to the house again of course. After killing two of them with my Makarov to spare SKS ammo the final one ran along the northern highway. After collecting their meat and when I was going north for a second time I suddenly heard some pistol shots coming from Severograd (the way the wolf went). Probably another killer put the last one of the pack down, some free meat for him because I did all of the work and he just avoided confrontation with a whole pack

Let me just whip out the cooking pot here, ahh there we go. Fill it up nicely, I need the tears to stay hydrated! Get used to it buddy, quantity of loot will get probably even less in the future. In my opinion, there is still too much military loot. Although I didn't find much loot initially, after a server crash there was more than enough. See my video above what I have in my inventory, if you think that's not a lot of loot please stop playing. Keep in mind, there was no server hopping or duping involved. It was on a low pop server and I joined not long after the update. I went to Staroye military tents, Veresnik, NWAF, NWAF again (server crashed whilst looting there so I decided to start over), Tisy. I then took a break and after coming back looting Tisy again and finally the western tents at the northern highway. With all the stuff I currently have I can kill I guess up to 25 people, maybe even more.
-
Apparently handicapped wolves is a thing in DayZ. After looting Tisy I decided to hit the far western tents of the northern highway with there being an high chance of encountering wolves in the back of my head. When I was running down the northern highway I already heard them and turned around. Afraid but also curious I decided to see if they would come but they didn't so I thought my best chance would to go south of the forest looping around them. In the fields I saw 2 wolves which were stuck or something and decided to snipe them. After waiting a while and when walking away I saw the rest of their comrades going towards them but after that never to be seen again. I thought this was my chance and they would be away from the woods so I went back to the northern highway and started making my way towards the tents. When I was not far from the tents I started to hear wolves again and prayed that they didn't come down to attack me. Once at the location I looted the tents real quick and it seemed untouched even though the patch has landed quite some hours now. Maybe the wolves are keeping people away from there? I will probably keep away from there as well now. But after looting I decided to play with them and I caught my experience on tape. Here are some screenshots and a video in chronological order: Unfortunately 1 got away so I guess that makes him a lone wolf now.
-
Yesterday I had around 50 .308 rounds on me. Some I got from others, some I found myself. We also encountered 2 or 3 wolf packs yesterday which we had no problem with but that would be normal given we were with 3 to 4 people and all had high caliber or good working guns. That would be something interesting which I would like to know as well. Awh boohoo, are you going to cway? Awhhhhhh, let me give you a rag or do you have them yourself? Do you even know how to acquire rags or do you only know how to acquire high caliber guns and go pew pew? Hold on, I'll have a better idea. My cooking pot is not full, let me whip it out and catch your tears. Instead of blantantly posting something, why don't you take that time instead and read on the internet how the development process works and also catch up on their development process. When you did that, you would know why updates can take a while. I don't think they will push every new Experimental patch to Stable. My guess is that they will continue to develop on the Experimental branch until all the blockers and milestones of .61 are fully functional and then push it over to Stable and continue with .62 on Experimental as soon as they have it ready for the mass.

Is this game worth it? First of all, we all know that DayZ is still in development and it's currently in alpha-stage. Yet, I have about 1.300 hours of playtime at the moment. I purchased this game at the 26th of march 2015. This would mean I have played DayZ about 2 hours each day over the past 627 days which isn't all that bad. Each new patch brings new things and joys for me and I still love the game. Although the game gets a bit stale at some point but that's when I take my breaks and wait for new content or at least Experimental which is always a bit more interesting than Stable in my opinion. Hopefully the endgame won't get stale after a while because at the moment, if you've established a camp with multiple duplicates of items with some other players there isn't really much to do after that. It was clearly visible that our group all stopped playing around the same time and occasionally play a bit but really returning back to DayZ this Experimental patch. I definitely recommend DayZ, even in it's current state or stage. If the game genre suits you then you're going to have a lot of fun and probably a lot of hours. I have to say that I started to like DayZ even more when I started to play with other people. But on your own the game can still be fun and will lower your life expectancy by a few years when someone suddenly scares the crap out of you. Encounters with other players in this game is of a whole different level than other games. When things get hairy, your adrenaline will rise, your heartbeat will rise, your temperature goes up, etc. And somehow, that's the thing what keeps me playing. Getting in-game and not knowing what's going to be ahead is great. This game is also perfect for roleplaying if that's your thing. I haven't tested roleplaying yet but with the reintroduction of infected, I will probably give it a shot when this hits stable. So my conclusion: yes, buy the game, it is most certainly worth your money. Before you learned the game and the map a bit you already played numerous of hours and already got your money worth by then. I must warn you though: don't buy the game if you expect a PvP shooter. The game is a sandbox game, you decide how you live "your life" and various factors decide a possible outcome of that life.

1. Let me explain this to you: There are 2 stages of natural blood regeneration low and high. For the low natural blood regeneration you need to be at least dark green energized and at least have neutral thirst, this will increase your blood by 1 each time. For the high natural blood regeneration you need to be at least light green energized and dark green hydrated which will give you 3 blood each time. With natural health regeneration there is only one stage and that is the healing stage which was a few patches ago a status indicator as well but they took that out. For natural health regeneration to occur you need to be full blood first of all. You also need to be light green energized and dark green hydrated which will give you 1 health back each time. 2. Right click on the heatpack and click "Turn on" or "Break" or what ever the option is. I don't know if some clothing will warm you up faster, for example putting it in your pants would warm you up faster than when it's in the backpack but I don't know if this is the case. I always put it in my pants or shirt just to be sure. There is however a bug that it shows up that it isn't working/getting hot but actually it is but the visual status of the item does not update. 3. No, I haven't noticed this bug (yet). Perhaps maybe bad luck? If it happens again I would definitely report it to the feedback tracker!

What location comes to mind when you think of DayZ?
IMT replied to Tatanko's topic in General Discussion
First city/town which comes to mind for me is: Elektrozavodsk but it is not what I call home. For me home is Belaya Polana, I see that as a quiet farmer town (because of all the green houses) in a generally quiet area of the map. -

Wonder which camp it was. If it was ours I guess I will hear about it soon enough. What did the camp consist of? What kind of gear, how many and which tents? -

If I knew the SVD is such a big issue I would've taken them when I found them. Only took the scope twice or three times now. Next time, I'll stash them away.
