In the trash can. Sorry I couldn't help myself not to make this comment. :)
-
The only thing which left me thinking of after reading this was: where did you/the player die from of the missing 1 %?
-
With BIS do you mean the World of Warcraft term Best in Slot? If so, it's completely up to your personal preference. Personally I would go with the FAL, AUG or SKS, maybe even a SVD. Ghillie can be used pretty well there but most camo's work if you don't want to spend time towards a full ghilie.

And what about the limping animation? :)

Another juicy status report, thank you! :)

How many people here do legit real banditry?
IMT replied to The_Lonely_Bandit's topic in General Discussion
I'm sorry but I have to decline this invitation. First of all, I don't really want to be in a clan. I play with a lot of people, I guess it's a group but not as in you need to be online monday at 9 pm in Elektro. I don't have any restrictions, I can come and go whenever I want and if I don't want to tag along on their journey I can play solo a bit. Second of all, I'm not an hardcore PvP player, I'm most certainly not bad at it but I prefer random encounters. Third, really, a scout? No thanks. If it's only one or two people why wait until the "main squad" arrives? I have taken two people on multiple times and have come out victorious in the end. I don't feel like being bait. -
I won't deny that a lot or even most people play DayZ to PvP but in the end they will not end up playing Vanilla DayZ but rather a mod. That's why this would be better as a mod rather than an option for Vanilla DayZ. I tend to disagree with this. I have no idea for Z Nation but this doesn't count for The Walking Dead, that's for sure. Remember the group near the shore which got robbed by Rick and their group because they had guns? There are plenty of examples where people got robbed because they had shit in The Walking Dead. I don't think it's a good idea. It would make survival way more easier and it's a survival game after all. Besides, trying to survive encounters or rather avoid them when you're a fresh spawn counts as survival too in my opinion. Also coastal warfare where people go up to the north and then go back down to the south isn't that common anymore these days. Why would I want to watch a person who PvP's in Elektro? I'd rather watch someone who runs into people randomly instead of playing on a server where 80 % is in Elektro PvPing. Of course they are going to find a lot of fresh spawns there because people can or will spawn there. It wouldn't even surprise me that people will suicide to get back to Elektro to try and grab the gear of their body. That's what DayZ is all about or at least it should be. DayZ has or is going to have a learning curve to it. I believe the or one of the developers even said that it doesn't matter how many people end up playing Vanilla DayZ. They are making Vanilla DayZ for a certain audience, an audience who would like to experience an hardcore survival game.

I would call this banditry since you give the player a choice and not just shoot them. :) Who says that I need to kill all of you, only one or two would be enough. A big group does have its downsides, the biggest one is shooting each other. I'm more of a troll when it comes to that. Kill one or two and then fuck off and let the group search themselves senseless while I'm somewhere else laughing my ass off. :) Maybe after a while when they cooled off and are feeling at ease again, I might take one or two out again, rinse and repeat. At some point they are going to shoot each other or there will be disagreements between each other which means that my mission was successful. Even though you think you have everything covered, there will always be sneaky people like me who will ruin that good time for you. By the way, holding a location like the airfield will be extremely hard, on a full populated server. Your group will eventually get wiped out by others. -

IMT replied to The_Lonely_Bandit's topic in General Discussion
I don't play as a bandit mostly, I try to be a friendly guy but it is hard to do. Although I love to fuck around with fresh spawns sometimes like putting a gun in their face and pretending to shoot them and saying that they can put their hands down and I'm just fucking with them. To be honest, I would absolutely love some more banditry in this game. And let's be clear here, I make a clear distinction between KoS and banditry. For me, KoS is NOT banditry but rather douchebagery. :) Oh I would love me to have a go at you guys. 1 guy, 2 guys, 3 guys or 30 guys, I'll have a go at that. :) -
I agree with this... and vouch for this.
-
I don't think this will be implemented in Vanilla, but for those who would like it, it would be a good mod. But to your comment about everyone spawning in the same gear. How does your character know that from your character's point of view? That's what a lot of people lack, the ability to place yourself into your character, that's a part of what DayZ is about.
-
Some things will be realistic, some things won't. If everything was just realistic, the game wouldn't be fun. Think about, you think it would be a challenge if your character can live 3 weeks without food? If we're making everything hardcore realistic then loot shouldn't even respawn, new players would be fucked by this. Sometimes they need to take away some realism in order to satisfy the fun factor. In my opinion there should be even less loot than there already is, it represents that people have been there before you or people took things when they left.

LOL! Confused the $h*t out of him (0.62 stable) - short clip
IMT replied to Irish.'s topic in Gallery
That thumbnail though. -
I believe they stated that they would be very rare. I think they will spawn at Tisy which will be hazardous at some point so it will be hard to get.
-
This, this will fix it. I think the last one is the problem, at least it was for me.
-
Did they say that on the stream as well?
-
Damn, that's fast, fingers crossed for 0.63! :)
-
The first thing might work but the latter won't. When I was stuck in a rock once I tried this twice or three times with no luck. The best bet would be to make a ticket on the feedback tracker. Best to read this thread:

The spawns are spread out already. You can spawn way down south, way up north or in the middle. Spawn points are good as they are at this moment, not sure what you are whining about.
-
Why are all spawns west of elektro still removed?
IMT replied to SparkyBoy's topic in General Discussion
Because most military loot spawn points are located in the west. Tisy, Lopatino road block, Kamenka road block, NWAF, Veresnik, Pavlovo, Zelenegorsk and Myshkino. The distribution of players is at a very good point at the moment. Stary, Novy, Staroye and Gorka are the places where you will find mid tier PvP, in the west you will find the high tier PvP. I'm pretty sure you will find players all around the map but if you just stay around Staroye, Stary Sobor, Novy Sobor and Gorka then you're indeed not going to find any players anywhere else. -
Actually, you can't kick/ban on a public hive server because people were abusing to play alone or with an handful of people to load up very easily and then go PvP on other servers. And no, the current server mod tool doesn't allow for spawning items, setting up spawn gear or the loot rates. I don't think this will be possible until the server files will be released, just to keep the game fair.

Installing stable AND experimental at the same time?
IMT replied to WOLFGEIST's topic in Troubleshooting
I'm not sure if this method will work but Right click on DayZ -> Properties -> Local files -> Create back-up from game files and choose a directory. Then switch to the other branch and do the same thing. Now you can import the version you would like to play, you might have to delete all the files before importing though. It's not quite what you exactly wanted but I believe there is no other way doing this I'm afraid. -
I'm sorry, I totally forgot about renting your own servers. Yes, you can indeed host an own server, either a public one or a private one. The public one gives you indeed limited rights. The public server is connected to the central public hive which shares the same character over all servers. Over the private server you have full control as far as the admin panel allows you, this includes kicking and banning players as well. The private hive has a separate hive on it's own which means that a character is tied to that specific server. It is possible to connect multiple private servers to the same hive so servers connected to that hive will share that character.
