So because you had a bad experience, it is a bad idea? We've had plenty of times where we added the people who killed us/who we killed on Steam (if it's a low pop or we knew who it was) and had a civil conversation. We've even had an instance where the two who we were fighting ended up playing a few sessions with us. Perhaps it's the server which you play on, since I never had a rando add me in Steam trying to get some PvP. It's a good idea and I believe even the developers back in the day liked this idea. It's not the first time someone has suggested this. It's also way better than the "Check pulse" option we had back in the day.

Yes they do. You can refresh them by attaching nails to them. What I do is I grab a some nails, attach them to my parts, remove them again and go to the next part.
-
Of course I was exaggerating, but you got my point, didn't you? I counted one time, each half hour I had to repair my shoes. If you play sessions of a couple of hours, you're going through a lot of sewing kits at that point. As I have pointed out before in another topic, this doesn't make the game challenging, it doesn't make the game harder and it isn't realistic at all, not even accelerated realism because it would've been accelerated more than 100 times. How it currently is, is just tedious, annoying and not fun at all. It keeps you from doing stuff properly. Oh and I wasn't exaggerating about building a wall though. Whenever I build a single fence, my tool changes status. To build 10 fences, you would need at least 4 to 5 tools which is fucking ridiculous. And you know what? A lot of long time players and who have somewhat the same vision about DayZ as me, agree with me. Furthermore, I'm commenting on a topic about DayZ, I am allowed to do that. And I didn't make a mistake, I exaggerated on purpose to point out how dumb the balancing is and how the devs don't give a damn about it. Sometimes I wonder if the developers even test their own game.
-
Funny, look at these console kiddos. You have no idea what the game is meant to be at all. This game is basically PUBG but with some annoying aspects to it. Don't come here and tell me what the game is supposed to be about because I have been here for 4,5 years. I have read everything what the developers have put out and I have seen them break all of those words. Go back to your CoD games because this game isn't meant for consoles and that is a fact.
-
They fixed the glitch but didn't balance the game. Run 10m? Shoes damaged. Get hit once? Clothing damaged. Build a wall? Hatched damaged. Shoot your suppressed pistol once? Suppressor ruined. The duct tape glitch at least made it somewhat bareable.

I got a fun little challenge for you peeps. I got quite good at driving my Gunter and I was wondering if someone can beat my top speed: Rules: - No cheating - It has to be inside the boundaries of the map, so no debug land! Good luck, have fun and stay safe! 🙂

Doesn't show in this post but Xbox replied on DayZ's reply with the fact that they have the wrong date.
-
Don't spread misinformation please. First of all, the article is littered with grammar mistakes and typos, so I already don't trust this source. Second, it isn't confirmed that Livonia comes with 1.06 nor is the release date or price announced.
-
To be honest, I don't think that's possible. The CLE cleans stuff up itself constantly all the time anyway, so no need to do it after a restart.
-
I'm not saying that. I'm saying that for all we know, we're getting quad bikes. In other words, we don't know which new or old features we're going to get with the DLC.
-
What do you mean exactly? I would leave it at default, to be honest. Most items will despawn after 30 minutes except for some specific items.
-
5 minutes and 30 seconds is for ruined items to despawn. Once you dropped a ruined item, it will despawn after that time has passed. The lifetime (in the types.xml) is the amount of seconds it takes before the CLE start cleaning up that item after it was dropped or spawned in.
-
<var name="CleanupLifetimeRuined" type="0" value="330"/> 5 minutes and 30 seconds. Also, the despawning of specific items are set in the types.xml. Every item has a lifetime, this lifetime is the time it will take before the CLE will clean it up.
-
Why are you complaining about a lot of things which are out of the hands of the developers? The server stability, support for servers and log viewers, tools, etc. are completely out of their hands.
-
This is a moot point since map makers aren't the one fixing bugs, unless it has to do with the map itself.
-
I'm quoting this one since the quote on my post has the same information as this one and this one has more. To react to your original quote on my post: they do deserve it, if the price is reasonable and there is no previous or promised features behind the paywall. There has gone some work in the map and it's not that this work took from development of the game. Or would you have the map designers rather sitting in the office all day, jerking? A lot of people who are long-term players like me, feel this map as refreshing since most of us know Chernarus out the back of our hands. So having that feeling of being "lost" again is going to be refreshing. Also, this map is paired with some old and promised features, which come free with the DLC I presume, which is a big positive. Although I wished they stated a long time ago, that some features will come to the game at a later stage combined with a surprise (the map). We can only speculate for now what these features and content are going to be and grab what we can from the video. But for all we know, we're getting a quad bike, since the terrain is mostly forest. We'll have to wait for more information. As multiple people already stated, with a price of 5 euros, I would definitely buy. 10 euros is going to be most likely and 15 euros is a maybe. Anything over that is a no-go for me. I think 10 euros would be a fair price. And no way I'm saying that development is going great, because it isn't and I have expressed that multiple times. But I feel a lot of people are overreacting with the little information we got.

Let's hope the payed stuff doesn't contain any features which used to be in the game or were promised features, since ImpulZ explicitly mentioned that they wouldn't put these features behind a paywall or DLC. As for the map, I'm on the fence with this one. On the other hand, I think a new map is a welcome addition to the game. They did mention they are going to release a new map as paid DLC at the end of the year, so I would say it's most likely a paid DLC, which I'm ok with as well. However, there are some points which don't sit too well with me. On one hand, the map is just a port from Arma 3, it would be way more awesome if it was a complete new map. Also, in the video, it shows mostly already existing assets. I would love a complete new map with new assets. It's also nice we're getting at least some of the promised or previous features back with this update, like the promised bears, radio/music and I saw a book as well. These features are most likely free otherwise they will suffer a severe backlash. I think we're only paying for the map and maybe some new features which haven't been promised or have been in the game. Then there is the price. The map came with the Arma 3 Contact DLC, which I believe is/was around 30 euros. Obviously for a ported map and probably only a map, I'm not expecting the same price. I'm hoping for 5 euros to 10 euros. 30 euros would be as much or even more than what I paid initially for DayZ, which would be crazy. I also see a lot of people complaining that it's bad that they're releasing a paid DLC while the game isn't finished, has a lot of bugs, is here and there unstable, etc. I'm on the fence with this one as well. As I said, the map is a nice addition but if it's too pricey or has old/promised features behind the paywall, it would be a very bad move on their part. A lot of people also think it's because they need money, which might be true. But let's not forget they made a lot of money with the initial sales of Arma 2, the standalone and the console releases, and I mean a lot of money. It's not a good marketing strategy because a lot of people might not buy it right now because the game isn't finished, not entirely stable, has a lot of bugs, etc. A better strategy was to first finish the game and yes, this might mean they lose some money but I don't think it would make them bankrupt. This would mean that a lot of people would come back to the game when it's finished or buy it and more people would buy the DLC. Now what's a better strategy, making some money now or make more money when it's finished with more potential customers for the DLC? I'd say the latter. I also can understand why some people are disappointed because they already paid for the map in Arma 3.

In PluginRecipesManager, you override the method ReadCacheFromFile, however, there is no ReadCacheFromFile in that class or any inherited classes apparently.

Translation: DayZ mod map recovered, but no loot appears. As you have already read, I have a problem with my recovered map, which doesn't spawn apples. I have laid out an apple bed with the correct trees, but no apples spawn at the bottom, but normal stuff was in the missiondata again, regardless how high on the map. Sorry for my bad English. This is a rough translation. Maybe a native German speaker could correct some stuff in my translation.

Are you sure it's not the other way around, that the server version is 1.04 and yours is 1.05? That would make more sense.
-
The Z does in fact stand for Zero and not Zombie(s).
-
And as far as I can remember, the developers have confirmed that vanilla isn't going to have any NPC's except for the infected and animals.
-
I agree with pistol suppressors but disagree for suppressors for the bigger guns. They are still loud in real life, pistols probably as well but for game play purposes, it doesn't make sense. Why would you bother with a pistol suppressor otherwise. I have always said that gun suppressors should be used for players and pistol suppressors for the infected. Another thing which frustrates me is that when you shoot a mag, the suppressor changes status and they ruin in no time.

I'm not justifying anything here, I'm stating facts. You can't just spout shit without looking at the background. Imagine something horrible has happened in your life and that affects school or work, would you find it fair if they would say "your work isn't done, you're shit!"? No, you're going to give them the background as to why your work isn't done. And in this case, you're not looking at the background. If you're saying that the argument "the game is better than it used to be" is invalid for a new player, then the argument "it has been in development for 10 years" should be as well. Because why would they care if they don't care about the background? Also, everyone who is active here or knows me somewhat, knows that I changed my stance on the development ever since they announced that they would release the game, which is fair imo. Yes, I still play the game (although modded). Do I think the current version of DayZ has flaws? Yes I do and I let these flaws know honestly and openly. However, I'm not going to bash the game and/or the developers with misinformation or lies, that I will not do.
-
While I sort of agree with you, that the development is slow, their priorities are not right, they make/made wrong deciscions, etc., you are spreading a lot of misinformation. Yes DayZ has been in development for a long time (release of the game doesn't change that, by the way). But the slow pace and lack of updates during alpha was understandable because they were working heavily on a new engine. Since approximately april 2018, the game is on this new engine and it is a totally different game since then. Yes there is a lot of features missing from the game but the game performs and plays way better than it used to do. That's where the priorities, wrong decisions and slow development pace come into place. But to say that this game is a heavily modified version of the DayZ Mod is an insult. To be fair, I don't believe you have been around from the mod, otherwise you would know all this stuff. Watching videos is not the same as actively following the development, neither is playing the standalone the first month it came out and coming back now.
