    I think you need to learn the definition of a couple... and small. 1 - Already going to be a thing. Devs are working on it. 2 - No, this is DayZ. If you lose you stuff hard luck. There are no safety nets. 3 - Maybe, the devs haven't said anything (that I've seen) about it. But I doubt its something they are currently working on. 4 - They are working on the "Black face" bug. 5 - They are working on it. There are ways around the bug, just have a look around the forums for a guide.

    While I agree with a lot you have to say. You need to remember that it's only a small 5 man team working on 0.62 (4 artists and a programmer, I believe) while the rest of the developers work on the 0.63/beta patch. edit: although thinking about it now. That number might have increased considering the new addition of new audio.

    sigh I really doesn't matter. The fact of the matter is development is taking long because of the Enfusion engine. It is true that the Enfusion engine will allow the devs to port the game to consoles but it is also true that Enfusion will allow the devs to improve the PC version of the game a significant amount. To such an extent that one of the devs have referenced the changed systems allowed by the new engine as a quote unquote "DayZ 2.0".

    Hell here is a quote from Brain Hicks: "The PC is our flagship platform for DayZ. That is where 99 per cent of our development resources are focused. And while there was a lot of push from Sony and Microsoft to get up on their stages and say 'yes, we're coming', our focus has been exclusively (I want to say exclusively because there's about a one per cent development resource trying to keep those platforms at a point at which, once we get to our beta and our bug fixing, we can start pushing forward on that) on the PC. We can't really move DayZ over to these platforms, at least on a playable level for consumers, until the base engine, Enfusion, is complete.     That is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. The reason DayZ is still in development is because they are making a new engine. You might have heard of it, it's called Enfusion. Made for the new generation of BI games... It has nothing to do with consoles. The devs have even said they are barely working on console port because they want to get the PC version as good as possible first.

    Yeah. I just re-read the SR. They said that they will upload a short demo of 0.62 if they have it ready in time. "We're hoping to be able to show some teaser video content at PAX East over at the Astro Booth showing off some of the progress on the visual overhaul of wild Chernarus for .62, rest assured this will also be shared through our standard channels if we're able to have this available in time."

    Long term depth of dayz

    I like how you think. I agree that the survival part of this survival game isn't really challenging. However I think we should wait for 0.63 before we start to suggest new ideas. With the new systems falling into place we will get a quote unquote "DayZ 2.0". We don't know how different this new DayZ will be and that makes it quite hard for us to suggest changes to the current DayZ.

    Yep, I agree with every point you made. Great video. But it does make me wonder if this is the kinda thing the devs are talking about when they mention balancing in beta. Because I find it hard to believe that this is how they want the loot to be for the full-release. Also, about the heli crashing. This is something Hicks said when asked about the same thing: "The way they work right now is essentially just creating the wreck. Initially we had ripped out any form of support for creating an actual flying craft with pilot AI that would fly a bit and then crash - we've looked at changing the way this operates in the future. I'd very much like to have the event created as a flying craft that eventually crashes, we'll see if we can get that done sometime before launch." Source:

    Just because they played a lot of DayZ, does not mean they can't be ignorant. 99% of the negative reviews come from people who do not follow the development of DayZ, they make false assumptions from what they see. If you follow the development almost every complaint they have can be explained.

    This game is in it's Alpha stage of development. If people thought the game was perfect as it is now, I would be worried. People can hate if they wish. The reviews of early access do not mean anything. It's like reviewing a cake when it's not cooked.
