Everyone knows about the AS50 TWS and that's the only one that's really OP/imba.

If you haven't saved it in the lake, it might respawn where you founded before.

they should make non PVP servers!!
dallas replied to PresidentEvil's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
What I do. If I want to play with friendlies I play with my bros on teamspeak. If I want to team up with friendly strangers I go to Cherno, because that's where there's most players. Ofcause populated areas mean lots of bandits, so you got to keep the eyes in the back of your head open, avoid being an easy target for snipers and be readdy to run at any moment. If I want to play PvE I switch to a night server. -
Banned because i hacked in the earlier version's.

If you own a digital copy you're screwed. If you own a real copy, you can still use the plastic box as a paper weight. -
1. Official whitelisted DayZ servers usually have around 40-50 player slots. You character progression is saved on the oficial character sever and whenever you login on an official server, you'll continue from where you logged out. Servers are usually full while it's daylight in game, so people will often leave, when the sun goes down on the server and join another server with different time settings. Play at night is a great experience, however if the moon isn't up or is new, you're completely blind without artificial lights. 2. No, you actions determine what you are. When you start you have 2500 humanity points and wears a regular survivor skin. If you kill someone, you'll probably drop below 0 humanity and turn into a bandit, wearing a headscarf to hide your identity. If you don't want to stay as a bandit, you basically have to avoid killing other players for a while or do good deeds: Give blood transfusions, bandage other bleeding players. If your humanity get to 5000, you'll get a hero skin. Whether you meet a survivor, bandit or hero, you can never be sure, if they are going to help you or kill you, eacher play is motivated differently. However you can also find skin around the world, you can pick up these and wear them, they will cover whatever skin you have. Ghillie suits and camo clothing, makes you less detectable in grass and woods. 3. If you're used to regular first person shooters, you'll have to get used to a different way of playing. Although it shares some of the basic controls, not all controls are intuitive and takes a little time to learn. Food, drinks, bandaids, right click, left click to use in your inventory interface(G key as in gear). Stuff you interact with in the world, items on the ground or doors, you use your mouse wheel to select an action. V = to vault over small fences. Notice the ear/eye icon to the right of your screen. The taller you walk, the faster you run, the easier it is for zombies to detect you. If they look in your direction, get out of sight. Also important you starter backpack has room for 8 items. if you place more than 8 item in it, you will usually destroy/delete the item you're trying to fit in. So if you're trying to store a rifle in a backpack, make sure you have room for 10 items or 5 items if you're storing a handgun. Lastly when you and your friend joins allow yourself to experience the utter chaos of being completely new to the world. You might die alot, untill you learn, but when you've become knowledgable about how the game mechanics work and know your way around the map, you sometime kind if missing being completely lost and confused, like in the begining. Also don't hack. :)

I'm sorry you had to record your buddy saying he disconnected to avoid death. Might have been a hacker, what are the odds? However I've run into players before in the wilderness on almost empty servers before. We had fixed up the chopper and flown it around all day and decided to park it up north in the middle of nowhere, only it turned out we landed it 3-400 meters away from the camp of the two only other players on the server.

Dont play DAY Z today! Massive CD stealing while IN GAME
dallas replied to thelonewarrior's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Massive amounts of hackers. And massive amounts of bans. It just doesn't add up... -
Let me paint you a picture of DayZ game mechanics.
dallas replied to SillySil's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The design allows players trying to survive with their humanity intact or without it. No matter if you're the friendliest hero or the best geared bandit, the bottom line is: In DayZ everyone dies. -
Flashlight's on guns, or in general not working
dallas replied to MattTheMont's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Torch is Englandish for flashlights. -
Since you made an effort to fix it, I'm obligated to read it. What a dissapointing read. I can't believe you decided to throw away your game for a bottle of water or for your top tier gear. I'm not sure whether you got banned for scripting or if you got scammed and downloaded someone's banned game ID. I've been in similar situations a couple of times, you know what I did? One time a door broke my legs and I started to bleed. I died crawling around Zelenogrosk desperately searching for a bandaid in the supermarket. Another time I was dying of thirst and frantically found something to drink after looking at my declining health for what felt like a looong time. I'm sorry you was so attached to your gear you decided to cheat. Because you decided to cheat, you deserve everything you got. Also scan your pc for trojans/malware/ect. you have to be insane to download anything from hackers!

Try the default grey font and size 14, you burned off my visual cortex. :)

It's a bug when an aircraft crash and burns. Some players see the fire at the burning wreck magnified way out of proportion. You won't take any damage unless you get all the way up to the crash site and the fire accidentally cooks off. I'm not entirely sure if the only way to fix it is to restart the game or if the fire bug dissappears, when the wreck stops burning after 5 minutes. Possibly a hacked chopper, because hackers can't fly worth shit.

Just don't whine on the forums about getting instakilled or teleported out to sea, if you decide to keep them.

Does your dog or goldfish have access to your pc? Anyways if I had been banned for no reason, I'd contact BattleEye and demand an explanation, before I coughed out more money for another game. Ofcause if I had been banned for hacking, I might just go meh and instantly buy another copy. Are you sure you didn't hack just a little bit?

I was banned from IRC for asking for help with a stress test.

How about common sense(don't spam)? -
I'd defenently like to see a few more isloated islands far off the coast. I'd also love to see Guba bay stretch itself further into the land or a few river cutting across the mainland. Maybe a few of the big cities having a ferry departure structure of some sort. I also really miss the tall bridges from Armed Assault's Sahrani island.

Do bandits put people off the game?
dallas replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Without bandits it wouldn't be fun to play as friendlies. Venturing into Cherno to meet/help other friendlies wouldn't be any fun, if we only had to worry about zombaloids. -
If there's any other loot near the backpack, you have to move the other loot away, before you can access the take Alice pack option.

Can't you just jump off the lighthouse like everyone else? Anyways when CNN hear there's an official suicide button in DayZ, Rocket will need a legal team and spend the majority of his time giving interviews saying: "No no no, I repeat, we're not trying to promote suicide in our game, no no no, you're not listening to what I'm saying. We're aware that suicide is a very serious thing and we're in no way glamourizing or justifying suicide..."

[Suggestions] Professions and other features
dallas replied to Freez (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
But didn't Rocket say something about class specialities to increase teamwork? -
[Suggestions] Professions and other features
dallas replied to Freez (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think Rocket dropped a few hints about classes to incentivize cooperation/teamplay. Don't see why you can't select a speciality after selecting gender. Mechainic - specility in vehicles. Engineer - speciality in underground structures. Doctor - speciality in medical treatment. Weapon smith - speciality in weapon attachments. ect. ect. Don't know if skills related to speciality is only available to specialists or if specialists just hav a bigger chance to succeeed. Everytime you repair/heal/build/ect. specialist have a 80-100% chance to succeed. Regular folk have only a 60-80% chance. -
You hacked the Mountain Dew in, didn't you? I called it!

Why is everybody so satisfied with ARMA2 Engine?
dallas replied to EndEffeKt's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I like OFP/ArmA's achievement system. When you achieve something, it's a personal achievement, not just a tiny icon you unlock. -
I guess he was a good hacker after all.
