  1. ArmA isn't a first person shooter. So ArmA isn't restricted to first person perspective. 3rd person view and command view has been an important feature of ArmA, since ArmA was called Operation Flashpoint. So OP if you don't agree with core mechanics, maybe you're playing the wrong game. As I already said, whether you want to call it a extremem hypersimulation to the max or a game, whatever it is, it's more than fist person running and gunning. ArmA is also a RTS in CTI, ArmA allows you to control a small fire team, squads, mechanized infantry or entire armies. ArmA is maybe a sim, not it's not exclusively a POV solder sim, it can be, but it can also simulate the entire battlefield, where you need more than 1st person view to command your vast army from infantery, to armor and artillery. So..
  2. Maybe if you didn't want your thread to come off as a whiney ass bitch QQ thread, you should have given us a proper poll. Anyways bandit tears taste like victory, with a slight aftertaste of pee.

    Found a As50 tws.

It's hacked, you can't get globally banned, you can get locally banned if detected by the server admin and no you shouldn't keep it. imo people who carry hacked weapons support hacking, instead you should pride yourself in owning a cheater, who had a AS50TWS with your legit Cz550. Why stoop to their level, when you're clearly better than them.

  5. Fine as it is. Other peaceful survivors can recognize you as at least not being a bandit, that's a pretty severe benefit already.
  6. I think humanity regenerates slowly as long as you're actively playing, it will continue to rise untill you reach 2500. So just stay alive and keep scavenging and you'll lose the bandit skin within a couple of hours. It makes perfect sense that you can't gain much humanity on your own, I mean you need other human beings around you to be humane. You can't develop yourself as a human being by only talking to yourself.
  7. Those froggy people, they creep me the fuck out, I can't have it, I can't take that shit no mo!
  8. ^^If you change the UI to debug monitor, your needs icons stay green, so you can't tell when you get hungry/thirsty and risk losing blood. Don't know what happens if you select the remove all UI icons option. I think it's difficult to determine whether removing all the UI autocmatically makes the game more believable and authentic. If you have to rely on stomach growling/shaking hands, the needs system becomes binary instead of gradually. I wouldn't mind seeing ammo counters removed, when the ammunition system is reworked, but cutting eys/ears/needs icons just for the sake of cutting them seems like a bad idea. But I'm afraid all these different needs sounds will become really repeatative and annoying.
  9. 1. OP learns that it's not possible to get banned for picking up hacked weapons, which means his friend hacked and lied about it. 2. The lesson OP draws from this thread isn't that hacking is bad, just that he should pick up over powered hacked in weapons.

    DayZ Standalone Confirmed

And static buildings shouldbe visibly closed off.
  11. I prefere assault rifles, but you can only find FN ammo at crashsite and since you had none, you made the right choice.

This is how you take care of hackers

    Takistan - Is it fun?

Desert and zombies, I just don't feel it. Check out Insurgency servers if you like Takistan.
  14. I'm all for new players, but playing Insurgency, you see alot of new and unskilled players flocking around the vehicles and rather than contributing to the succes of the mission, they seem to do everything they can to slow everyone else down. Trying playing at night, when shitty pilots crashest several aircraft in the AO, their burning wrecks rendering NVGs completely useless. Trying to locate enemy shooter with a dual rotored damn Chinook hovering 2-30 meters above you. Let's not forget about all the friendly fire from vehicle mounted grenadelaunchers, bombs, mortars and rockets. I'm not saying I agree with the abusive admin in OP's post, I'm just suggesting some players could try a little harder not killing off their own teammates.

    players are dropping real low

Without the open alpha, we'd never have gotten the standalone. I feel like we're in a transition phase, I'm a little busy with Guild Wars 2 atm, I still play DayZ, but I needed a change of scenery, so I put it on the back burner.
  16. Polana supermarket. I felt nothing.
  17. ^^huh backpacks don't eat gear, just misplace them a bit? Usually the overflowing items will spawn around the tent a few moments later.
  18. Look great with you're zooming by in a little bird, but when you're at ground level you're far from Chernogrosk quality. Still if it was possible, I'd love it.
  19. I'd be willing to play a scaled down version, where the city might have been ravaged by a fire, leaving most buildings in ruins. The main problem is optimation, the ground graphics are pretty basic because it's a flight sim, but seriously what I wouldn't give to a major American city with maces of highway ramps, parking garages and subways. I have a dream...
  20. I know both guys flying! I'd pay serious cash for a DayZ Seattle map designed for ground play. However you'd need a monster future PC to run it.
  21. Seems like a dick move to kick new players for being new. However... The official Operation Flashpoint motto is: Practise flying offline.
  22. Paying hackers, so we don't have to... When hackers aren't busy spreading disinformation(lies) about BattleEye, they are busy stealing cd-keys, they can sell cheaply to those BattleEye succesfully caught. Don't believe everything you read on their $10 forums.

    Tent mechanics - please clarify

My tents are saving correctly atm. I'm not sure how they work, but whenever I place a tent, I never place any valuable gear in it, untill next server restart. I'll either leave it empty or place a can of food or a pile of wood in it.
  24. Yo shut up! We agreed to keep quiet about our little secret, remember? When people are playing DayZ, they are really playing ArmA. Keep it on the low guys, you know: Hush hush...
  25. Never use the "drop" button, unless you're throwing stuff away. Use the < arrows > on the left side of the inventory window instead.
