  1. I don't mind 50 cal snipers, however I wish they were less rare than empty tin cans.

    Nightvision

The most ever awesome experience I had was cleaning up Solnichniy with a six man group on a pitch black night. I had a M4A3, another had a glock, some carried glow stick and all of us threw road flares on regular intervals. Our two flashlights would light up zombies and the rest would take them down. When we reached the south part of town, we spotted a bandit KSK in the dark and man, you should have been there. Watching his reaction as around 10-15 road flares rained down lighting up the whole neighborhood, he died running around like a headless chicken, not knowing where to go.
  3. I believe being friendly to others in DayZ is a bannable offense, I sincerely hope you reported him to BattleEye!
  4. And we're still fucking waiting for you to post it!

    Define a bandit

As a sniper you have to set up your position where people are. If you don't, you're not a sniper, then you're a fool in a bush.

    Nice guys finish last.

I'm to be trusted, whitelisted medics are to be trusted, lots of people are to be trusted. The trick is in order to meet trust, you must take a leap of faith, but nothing breeds trust as well as breaking line of fire. If two friendlies are seperated by a shelf in the supermarket, it's harder to get killed and easier to exchange a few kind words. If the other player is talkative, showing a minimum of courtesey and you're not carrying mountains of top tier gear to provoke jealousy, you're increasing the chance of an short friendly experince in an unfreidly world. However if you shoot anyone on sight, because you're affriad someone wants to steal your makaroni and starter backpack, maybe you're missing out of an alternative aspect of this mod. Some might even consider this aspect, what made the different, making this mod standout from the already done to death zombie genere.

    Grounded the little turd

OP btw please scan your PC for malware. The cheat your son downloaded might just have been a virus replacing your cd-key with an already banned one.

    A new drink:)

We really need to be able to wear bathrobes and mix white russians in our standalone strongholds.
  13. No matter where you place a tent, it will eventually get discovered, either because the hinding spot isn't as original as you thought or because someone as original as you decides to place a tent near your's.

    Is this Legit?

I think "SmallSecondary" is the name of an explosion effect, I don't know if it's the effect of the 40mm grenade exploding.

IF YOU WANT TO LIVE COME WITH ME The only two things you can really trust in DayZ is: #1 People can't shoot you, when there's solid cover between you. #2 People can't shoot accurately and run at the same time. Whenever you meet someone, take cover. Whenever you talk to someone, do it from behind cover. Always be ready to run, always be aware of escape routes. Players who doesn't make great effort to always point their weapon away from at you, are either dangerously negligent, doesn't care much about your safety or are actively conspiring against you. So never apply medical aid to anyone threatening you. Players pointing the muzzle in your face is either a small accident or a tiny change at heart away from pulling the trigger. Whenever you're talking to another survivor always remember there's a distinct difference between what you want to hear and what you're really hearing. So small talk for a while and pay attention to the answers. If you don't hear 100% friendliness or if you get the feeling of you being rediculed, get in cover, say "good luck" and get away as safely as possible. Lastly anyone who robs you at gunpoint, expect you trying to revenge it as soon as you can and they will often kill you, after they get tired of toying with you. Instead of waiting to get shot on your knees, as soon as they show hostile intent, just flat out run. Zig-zag and place as many obstacles between you and the shooter. They can't shoot unless they stop running or aim accurately. If you keep moving fast and unpredictable, everytime they try to shoot, you increase the distance and your chances of surviving.

Invisible wall at edge of map?

They must have placed a setDamage 1 trigger on the edge of the map. I think it's fair to allow vehicles and tents to get deleted after an hout outside the map, but this seems a little excessive.

    What is it about DayZ

That you can go from 0 to 160 just by turning a corner or spotting two runners in the middle of the wilderness. Some player interactions leave my hands shaking from excess adrenaline, doesn't happen in other games.

DayZ: Night Life, the way it should be IMO

I spend atleast half my time on night servers and really enjoy nights being a completely different game. When playing at night you're relying much more on your ears and if you haven't got NVGs or exploit gamma settings, artificial light becomes a valuable rescource. You have to be really careful, because light draws in unwanted attention and many times flashlights, chemlights and road flares, just provide enough light to make you even more scared, because it also creates a contrat between your very limited light scource, while killing your eye's perefial nightvision. Mostly I think NVGs need to be much more exclusive and we have to even the playing field, by finding a sollution to players exploiting gamma/brightness. I'd classify running a city's powerplant, lighting up street lights serious end game content, atleast a 5-10 man task. There'd have to be implemented serious pitfalls, random powerouts suddently blinding the urban population, dangerous critical malfunctions, with the risk of deadly explosions or electrocution for those maintaining the turbines/generators.

    2 Questions About DayZ

If you just want to fool around in the editor, you can find models in the editor similar to the ones used in DayZ. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zj05Y1qGSNk&feature=g-upl
  22. People who have shed their humanity, does not qualify as humans anymore. You don't lose humanity for shooting goats either.

    Your favorite weapon?

Because all functional tents for so long automatically kept duping top tier stuff, I've been enjoying downgrading. A very big fan of any shotgun with pellets, m1014 to rule them all, but I've grown fond if the double-barreled.
