  1. Just a derogatory term, like carebear, that gets thrown around in games with both PvP and PvE players.DayZ's perfect mix on PvP and PvE, enriches both playstyles.

    Secondary Weapons

I like the M9 SD because it's sexy, not because it's best.

Remove 3rd person or make it worse

Play on vet servers with 3rd person enabled. I enjoy playing on 3rd person servers, since the player model is fully rendered in the game, why not enjoy it. While first person is way more immersive and 3rd person is mandatory to exploit in PvP, I feel first person mode is lacking, when it comes to accuraccy of movement and physical awareness. I've seen alot of examples of players never switching to first person in firefights, forgetting that the elevated 3rd person camera, makes shooting alot more inaccurate. I don't see the point in why the standalone needs to seperate character saves for different difficulty settings. I mean it's not easier to get fully geared on a 3rd person server and a 3rd person player will be in a dissadvantage, when joining a first person server. On the other hand, being able to have two active characters seems like a positive. As long as server hosts can enforce their prefered difficulty settings for all, the playing field on the individual server is level.

    How to change DayZ Name

Ingame your player profile is tied to your pc name. So you have to create a second profile with new name. Since your characters is tied to your game-id, it makes no difference which profile you use.

Shoot all un-armed bandits on sight.

Yo own fault for not KOS. Bandits are proven playerkillers, it's your duty as a hero to put them down.

    Spawn in groups.

I like it, if your friends don't die, you have to wait hours to respawn.
  9. If you're unarmed it might be because you're leaning or pressed right click.

What's the point of playing as a bandit if you can't even stay alive?

    How to hide a camp?

You need a tight group of pines, you also need to look at the map and make sure you camp isn't located between points of interest and on a potential travel route.

    DayZ Standalone Confirmed

I think the point is that the engine is so easy to modify and create user content that it allowed Rocket to create DayZ, when the entire industry said there's no market or interest for challenging gameplay. The point of the standalone engine is it doesn't have to be wide open to cater to user made content, because all it has to do is to run DayZ.

I think the last official word from Rocket is it wont make it in the official launch.

"Oh, it's night. Guess I'd better leave"

I play at night and almost always without NVGs. I killed a hacker in Cherno, picked up his AS50 TWS, his NVGs and rangerfinder and placed them in my full backpack, deleting everything without hessitation. If you got a map and a compas, natigation is pretty easy at night, just use the sound of asphalt as a reference point. You select your next waypoint, where your path crosses a road and while you can't see much, it's easy to hear when you reach it. I should clarify, when I say waypoint, I mean a mental waypoint, none of those regular-mode waypoints. When you have to enter a settlement, you use chemlights, road flares or flashlihgts. Playing at night is a different game, more claustrophobic, 80-90% reliant on sound, less players, but you're more exposed, because many play with gamma maxed. With less players, comes less hackers, exploiters and griefers. All in all win-win.
  18. If you give him your CD-key, he doesn't have to steal if from you or fool you into downloading a virus, because you gave it to him willingly. If you give him your CD-key, he'll most likely sell it to someone who already have been banned. So. For the love og God! Don't give him your CD-key! Guys, guys! Not everyone on the internet is your friend. Not everyone who wants to help you, but charges money for it is your friend. Not everyone who wants your unique CD-key, your creditcard info or your private password is your friend. Not everything that sounds too good to be true, is always true. Infact often it's not.

    DayZ Standalone Confirmed

The facts is the only thing WarZ will be first at is being the first DayZ knock off. While DayZ was busy going viral, WarZ was nowhere to be seen. When DayZ drew the attention of mainstream, WarZ suddently appeared out of nowhere. While DayZ has hours, weeks of user content on youtube/twitch, WarZ has two staged videos, where you at best see one or two players reading a manuscript. Whether WarZ rushes to go standalone first, DayZ made headlines first, made waves in the industry first and paved the way for WarZ. DayZ might just be a mod in alhpa stage, but unlike WarZ, this alpha mod has occupied hundred of thousands for months, while WarZ only bears proof of two unique players. WarZ's only selling point has been, we're like DayZ, only flawless. It's a bold claim and they better deliver a bold game, because a cheap knock-off will expose them as unoriginal and lazy scammers.
  20. Seriously in a near future, I'd love to play DayZ in Seattle. I know the graphics settings for making a HD video in the editor and for 50-60 player experience is very different, but I just can't help dreaming. Maybe by improving the ground textures slightly or adding some visual effects, smoke, fog, smog, dust, grain, you could lower the view distance and mabye squeeze some reasonable fps out of the map. You could have a majority of the city be scorched by fire, leaving most houses and building in inentrable ruins and turn sewers, subways, a few large buildings into large instanced maps of their own. C'mon Rocket I know you want to.
  21. Cherno/Elektro is the easierest place to find loot and get sniped. Perfect balance imo.
  22. Confirmed: Vampires can't enter DayZ churches!
