  1. All those nice models of magazines, wouldn't it be nice to use those, if the ammunition system gets reworked. If we have to locate both boxes of rounds and empty magazines. Nice animations for weapon maintenance and an animation for reloading magazines.

    Calling "friendly!" in towns

trolling again are we Leroy? OP it's a good idea to combine your "friendly, friendlies?" with taking cover behind a shelf in a store or something solid. People react more peacefully when they don't have to make an instant decision, while someone is waving a large handgun in their face.
  3. Don't ever comply with hackers. Whatever they can do to your characters, the worst thing you can do is allow them to use you as their little handpuppet, untill they get bored.

    Do you trust Rocket's vision?

I want DayZ to be DayZ.
  5. Huh? That quote baffles me. People have been so busy combat logging, they actually think shutting down the game, is a part of survival. It sounds like 1983's Wargames: "The only way to win is to not play..." Everybody knows that supermarkets are points of interest, so on full servers, you better loot with your back against the wall, you better loot fast and you better get the hell out of there, before a wizard with a high caliber wand turns you into a sitting duck!

Why no single player option rocket?

Rocket has had limited resources, haven't been able to do much, but to keep up with the roaring demand on servers, trying to crunch the severe bugs and now shifting his focus to the standalone. Player interactions make this mod, but they don't dictate your play style or play mode. If you want to play PvP or coop, you head for the players hubs, if you want to play solo, you live off the land and one of your gameplay challenges becomes how to avoid PvP, how survive on your own, to disengage from combat and seek out the alternative locations on the map, where human encounters are more sparse.
  10. I prefer the system as it is, where players chose their paths based on their play style and how they treat strangers they come across in the world. People are free to play as murderers or saints. I don't believe in incentives for being good or bad, it's all about survival, whether you survive with your humanity intact is up to yourself.

    Few words about crossbow.

Crossbows will get some love in the standalone, Rocket revealed an image of a crossbow with a scope on it and has talked about quivers.

Suggestion for a new death screen

Agree I like it a lot, but it shouldn't grant you any information about you killer, you can ghost/relay to your team mates. I also love the graphical layout, since the old goth death screen has outlived it's purpose.
  15. Much has been said and more has been repeated, let's check it out before we dismiss it.

What Does DayZ Mean To You? (PvP or Survival)

I'm a pure survivor. But DayZ isn't about me, it's about allowing every player to find his own motivation for carrying on. Other players is what makes this a crazy experience, as a survivor, you're always on your toes, even when you meet another survivor. You never know if he's going to change his mind and shoot you in the back or a bandit close by overhearing your friendly conversation in direct chat. DayZ is a perfect mix of competitive and coopertive gameplay, which means players encounters are far more advanced than any other game out there.
  17. Still play on a public server, I always stuck to one server at the time. Never liked server shoppers.
  18. Wont you like for example give away your own position and loudly and proudly announce yo come get my mk48 to everybody else?
  19. To be heard you must either cry loudly or clap frantically or at least that is our misconception. We rate games with either a 0 or a 10, not to show our opinion, but to influence the average score. These are the ways of gaming forums. :|
  20. One community to rule them all.
  21. These are the same kind of people, you can catch near any airfield with laser pen lights.
  22. Regular MMOs tie characters to a single server located in a specific timezone, but then again, MMO nights just dim the lights a little bit, while DayZ offers people living in light polluted cities a reality check with a 400.000 volt stun gun. I've had similar thoughts, but I always reach a dead end, where I'm basically trying to force other players to adopt my own DayZ preferences. I think DayZ appeals broadly because, you can select servers who offers different difficulties. DayZ's unforgiving pitch black nights, no matter how real they are, is a real showstopper for some, while a few of us, really love having to play a completely different game after dark. A major turn off has also been the uneven playing field. Earlier in DayZ's development, when time didn't synchronize correctly, some player would be virtually blind, while new player who joined or rejoined the server, would have hours of daylight left. As long as people can exploit gamma and brightness easily, where they basically have functional black/white night vision. Lastly lets also mention the rampant duping of thermals and NVGs. I haven't really used a night vision device since in 90s, but I'd love to see some outdated NVGs in Chernarus, with more visible noise or bigger grains.
  23. Do you honestly think that DayZ would even be relevant right now if it wasn't for ArmA's engine?
