    I'm new and need tips

Don't trust anyone, who says: "Don't trust anyone."

    Cant understand KOS moaners :s

Asking someone to drop his weapons is a hostile action. I refuse to unarm myself, while bandits and zomboes are around and I never ask anyone else to disarm, but to lower their weapon or point it in another direction. No need to demand total surrender from a stranger, just keep cover close at hand and be alert. I'd rather go down fighting, than to be shoot unarmed on my knees, when the bandit gets bored. Anyways if you loiter around, taking forever to loot, you're asking to be KOS'd or robbed. If you got stuff to lose, you need to keep your back against the wall and your guard up.
  3. Berezino is a nice quite place, but it's a place where experienced wolves go and they can be dangerous.

    Standalone Zombie Jumping

I'd like it to be more feral, more low and forward, savagely. I want a tackle, not a piggyback mount. :)
  5. I believe people, who KOS should be lined up in front of a wall and shot with a soft ball or get told off very sternly by God himself or the President of the United States or forced to go hunting with Dick Cheney or date Chris Brown and sing a duet with JayZ, who copied his name from this mod. There!
  6. I predict and you all know my predictions are always correct. It's released between July 8 and 12 and if not there, either earlier or later. I also predict the standalone will divide people into three factions: Those who love it. Those who hate it. Those who think it's okay.

    Magazine. Not clip.

I clipped yo mama's hedges. If you're an overzealous drill instructor with a stick up your ass, it matters greatly. If you're talking shop with other enthusiasts, you may want to come off knowledgeable. If you're neither, you don't know the difference and really don't give a fuck.
  8. Lefty here too, but I've always used right for mouse. Pinky on shilft Ring finger on A Middle on W Index on D Thumb on space
  9. ArmA in general is about personal skill progression regarding basic land-nav, movement, situational awareness, tactics and combat. I really don't see a need to dumb down the controls, when you have access to the best controller ever: Mr. Keyboard and Dr. Mouse. Learn to use a mouse and keyboard combo, you'll be way more accurate, than you'll ever be with a toy controller. ALSO LESS CAPS PLOX
  10. I didn't mind the very short log-in spoiler and to be honest I mostly used it to check my days lived. but mostly, I was preoccupied with other stuff and therefor missed the information the most of the times and was always to lazy to re-log to spoil my game.
  11. I'm not that smart and I do like the whole scavenging and survival aspect of DayZ. With most buildings now being enterable and with a lot more potential loot spawns, you have to decrease the amount of loot substantially, otherwise even the smallest of towns will yield as much loot as the entire city of Cherno did in the mod. I'm not completely against repetition makes your bandages or repairs more effective, but such leveling mechanics will also be abused(skill grinding). I'd like to see "skills" being a result, not just of repetition, but also a result of days lived. so you can't grind yourself to become an expect brain surgeon over and over, because you get yourself killed over and over. KOS served a purpose in The Road thought, it wasn't primarily for the lulz like in DayZ. In The Road, the man and the boy had been on the road for years, in an environment that has been scavenged, picked apart and where nature has been devastated and aren't providing much in resources. The Road's marauders are cannibals and while they probably will rape you a bit, they primarily see you as lunch.
  12. In The Road, weapons and bullets were scarse. The Road's marauders knew ammunition was rare and assumed that the man's revolver was empty and the man was constantly negotiating with himself, whether to use his last to bullets to end himself and the boy. I remember getting cruched between a wave and the wreck at Rify and watched by corpse with great gear falling to the bottom of the sea, knowing I wouldn't be able to loot my silenced weapons, large backpack and survival gear again. After respawning it took me a long time running north to find a weapon, I found a Enfield with one clip in a barn and thought to myself: Right now this rifle with 10 rounds feels like the greatest treasure, if this had been a real situation, this would have been an invaluable find. However I knew within the premises of the game, I knew exactly where to find an assault rifle and more ammo than I could carry. I knew that while it felt like a lifesaver, I also knew that weapons were so plenty, I'd ditch this rifle like an empty tin can, because weapons in DayZ were so easy to come by. When weapons and gear are too easy to find, they lose their value and when you can instantly recover all gear after dying, the game stops being a survival experience and becomes a respawn experience. The main reason why KOS is so predominate is because there's no consequence to death. If you die, you'll have less than 5-10 minutes travel to Elektro, Cherno or Balota and if you spawn at Kamenka, you simply run for suicide bridge. Attacking other players, seeking out conflict is dangerous and often results in death, but because this is a respawn simulator, people sprints around like the infected killing everything they see. DayZ is not a question of PvP or PvE, it's about survival, but when recovering from a death is without consequence, survival simply becomes a question of personal preference, instead of the essence of the game.
  13. I'm looking forward to handing over money for the standalone, but in some ways I feel, I'm kind of done with Chernarus. Just like I felt I was done with Chernarus, when Operation Arrowhead was released I saw no reason to revisit good old Cherno. However DayZ came unexpected out of the blue and reinvigorate a game I thought, I was done with. I've played DayZ on and off for a year, so I'm very curious to see if the standalone can keep my interest, but since I bought ArmA in 2009 to play ArmA, the only thing DayZ cost me was a little patience and a lot of time. I also think you'll need same kind of patience and happy go lucky attitude, you needed to enjoy the mod, to enjoy the standalone. I feel confident about my expectations about DayZ, I've voiced some concerns, some criticism and then there's a genuine hope to see Rocket succeed, not only with DayZ, but making a difference or his own niche in the industry.

Why do you chose Dayz over Origins

Politics over content, I can't support something I find unethical.
  16. Love the context chat.
  17. Now with bullettime!!! ;)
  18. I just don't see the book making for a really good big budget movie. You need a big name like Brattifer Pitterrous the Third to tie the chapters together. It's a bit like with Game of Thrones, I really liked the book, but I'm happy that the tv show takes certain creative liberties, because it's another media and if I wanted the exact same story again, I'd be better served re-reading the books.

    Dayz Virtual Reality support.

I remember when Virtual Reality promised to changed gaming as we knew it back in the early 1990s, so I'll watch from the sidelines on this.
