How i learn to love 3rd person

I think he's indicating what 3PP servers are filtering the riff raff from the elite 1PP servers. I totally agree and I'm fine with playing with my fellow riff raff, maybe this realization will decrease the amount of "I hate 3PP servers" threads, but I doubt it.
  2. Great comparison op. Do you know why the dark side of the moon is just as dark as the dark side of earth? Because the sun is on the other side. In order to see anything you need a light source. At night you either need artificial light or sun light reflected off the surface of the moon. The moon however isn't a static object on the sky, it rises and sets, just like the sun and depending on the calendar, earth also casts it's shadow on the moon, limiting the surface to reflect sun light back on the dark side of earth. Since the workers at the powerplant are busy being dead or busy eating brains, there are no artificial lights at night and you'll have to rely on the moon's good grace and as you know, the moon operates on it's own clock. Without the moon and without electricity, the only light a night is star light and star light ain't shit. The closest star is obviously the sun. It takes the sun's light some eight minutes to travel to earth, but nights are usually defined by the lack of sun light, as the sun is on the opposite side of earth. The next closest star, it's light takes more than four years to travel to earth and it's so distant and weak, you can't use star light to distinguish objects and shapes on the dark side on earth. Well... that's not entirely true, you can use star light, if you happen to have a night vision devise, modern day night vision devices usually enhances star light by 15,000-30,000 times. Flash lights aren't the end all be all either, while their light do help a lot, it also messes with your natural night vision and the contrast between what's inside the light cone and outside it, limits your vision to what's inside the cone.

    Whats wrong with server hopping?

At least in the mod people were ashamed of server hopping/combat loggin, you know it's bad and rampant, when people begin to openly justify and brag about it.

    Why ARMA Engine?

Sure DayZ isn't wow, but the hive setup, the character saves across multiple servers, pretty much is an MMO structure. Just think of the servers as instances and voilá, there's your MMO. Sure DayZ isn't the most massive of massive MMO's, but plenty of other MMOs have offered small instances too. You don't have to have 90,000 players in Elektro at the same time to use the term MMO, to explain how characters are stored and interact with each other. It's like saying ArmA isn't a simulation, because it has third person view. Every sim out there has fly by camera and external cameras too. Stop being so rigid and broaded your definitions a bit.

    Why ARMA Engine?

This might be a stupid question, but if you don't like the RV engine, what are you doing here?

Fix (not remove) Third Person Perspective

I still don't get the exploit part, it's readily available for everyone. Anyway I don't want to get drawn into a discussion with your trying to redefine a feature as a cheat. I only commented on a first person player, who's got a history of wanting to remove third person view completely form the game, who has no intention to ever playing on a third person server, but somehow think he's entitled to dictate what goes on on third person servers.

Fix (not remove) Third Person Perspective

Why you wanna dictate what happens on third person server, when you're playing on first person servers anyways?

    Can we talk about gambling?

To be fair, he did correctly put "safe zones" in quotes. Just like you put "Friendly" and "PvE servers" in quotes or like if someone tells you to please not shoot, and you say "Okay" while making air quotes.

    Combat Loggers Get Pooped on.

    Too homophobic though.

    A badly needed attachment

A masterkey attachment is a must.
  12. I think you maybe are overestimating the importance of your poll.
  13. dallas

Fix (not remove) Third Person Perspective

If only that 'poll' was actually representative of the activity on the servers.

Dyslecxi shows just how amazing 1PP only is in NEW video.

phlogist0sh which servers do you play on yourself?
  15. dallas

Fix (not remove) Third Person Perspective

Yes in your tiny pole maybe, but the majority playing on the servers apparently clearly disagree.

Dyslecxi shows just how amazing 1PP only is in NEW video.

The problem with removing 3PP is that ArmA/DayZ isn't designed purely to be a 1PP game and it unfortunately shows in 1PP.

How do you protect yourself against betrayal?

Never let your guard down and also accept that everyone dies in DayZ. + Do they keep distance. + Are they are polite. + Are they guarded. + Do they lower/shoulder weapons. Any disregard for your safety or disrespect/irony/sarcasm is a warning sign. They come off as overly friendly, insincere or trying to convince you to do certain things, are all alarm signs. Don't get tunnel vision, people aren't more friendly, because you really really hope they are friendly. So if you want it too much, you might miss any warning signs. Just because you meet a friendly player, doesn't mean you have to marry him. You're also in constant danger from other players, while you're feeling out your new found friend(figuratively!).
  18. I totally agree, I'd really love to be able to pledge $1500 to DayZ, so I can always spawn with an AS-50. Also for your giant Star Citizens pledges, you can run circles around your ships in a hanger.

Regarding spraycans: I hope you'll also be able to mark the n00bs you round up at the beach, maybe even brand them later in development.

    A badly needed attachment

There's no foregrip at the moment, but there're several CBQ parts already. A CBQ buttstock and different handguards. I assume that the bayonet will count as CBQ, when it's functionality is implemented. We've already seen data mining for a m203 attachment and since the M4 is considered endgame, we'll probably continue to see more attachments for it in the future.

Fix (not remove) Third Person Perspective

So when did we all agree that 3PP is an exploit?
  22. Do we really need four new topics about 3PP, every time Dslysechsixchi posts a video?

3rd Person and KOS are connect

I expect we'll see several 3PP threads and polls, because Dslysxexi posted a new video saying what's been said over and over again.
