Let me get this straight... You're comparing DayZ to WarZ, WarZ who got kicked off from Steam after 48 hours, because they were claiming that their map Colorado was twice as big as Cherrnarus and contained other exaggerated or non-existing features, DayZ on the other hand had an ALLCAPS warnings about the status of the game and recommend that you only purchase, if you're willing to put up with serious issues and wanted to actively help development. When WarZ heard Rocket say "Think of the Standalone as a foundation we build upon," Sergei Titov quickly announced: "Alpha stage is done, WarZ has now reached it's foundation and this foundation build will be released on Steam." Nothing had actually changed in WarZ, they just changed the word Alpha to Foundation, then launched on Steam and subsequently got kicked off for false advertising. While WarZ claimed to sell a finished product, DayZ did not. You problem is that you knowingly bought an unfinished game, but expected a finished product. Next time do a little research before you purchase your next Steam game.

I just took down two players, I rounded a corner in the hospital stairway and blasted both barrels. I quickly stepped back into cover and reloaded and when I rounded the corner again to finish the job, the job was already finished. Thank god I had zeroed my shotgun to 50 meters.

did Dean suggest intractable furniture last stream ?
dallas replied to badman85@gmail.com's topic in General Discussion
Dean talked about making fridges intractable objects, they just needed to design a script to place them. -

Yeps, but if they implement fridges, I demand they implement decapitation too. -
Rocket answers to everyone who complains about 3D view

Bottom line: If you have a problem with third person, you have a problem with the Real Virtuality engine. -
Maybe you guys are cleaning a little too much.

I doubt will see a decrease in firearms, but top tier military weapons will decrease. The reason why the M4, an endgame weapon was was so easy to find in the beginning, was because the M4 platform is probably the most moddable weapons platform. It made sense to model the most difficult and advanced weapon first, simply to make sure it was possible. As more and more weapons makes it into the game, it makes perfect sense, than they decrease the spawn rate of the top tier M4. With the rampant server hopping, every bandit had a M4 with 60 round magazines and if The Road was an inspiration for Rocket, bandits running around spraying and praying like headless chickens, probably wasn't the intention. You can still have a lot of fun with a handgun, revolver, Mosin and a shotgun, you don't have to carry a M4 with 700 rounds to drop a n00b at the beach.

I'm roleplaying as an Asian chick too.

So after a month of 24/7 day light servers, people need NVG training wheels to play at night. Let's also hope server hopping/loot farming has been fixed, before we add NVGs to the game.

First off this is the Standalone forum. :) Here's the DayZ mod forum I've reported the thread and asked a moderator to move your thread there. Not to be a bastard, but you'll get more responses from mod players there. I played the mod for hundreds of hours, but after buying the Standalone, I've never looked back and seriously, I can't recall much from the mod. I think G for Gear opens your inventory. M for map, but you have to find a map somewhere first. You first objective should simply be to move off the beach, begin to search the area and learn which types of buildings are enterable. Where there are zombies, there are usually enterable buildings, where there are enterable buildings, there are usually loot. And yes the DayZ mod inventory is unintuitive and hard to learn. ;)

Rocket answers to everyone who complains about 3D view

See I don't judge. I think maybe separate Hives will work, just like Dslyxhisgy's videos can encourage people to check out the 1PP experience. I joined a 1PP yesterday and actually had some hours of fun. I have to say, it's nice to be able to have two active characters, even if it kind of undermines the fear of permadeath. I can enjoy playing on a 1PP server and then I can go back to enjoying myself on 3PP server. Having fun is enough for me. I don't need to dictate how others enjoy themselves within established parameters of DayZ. I don't like bandits, but that doesn't mean I want friendlies to congregate on PvE servers, where the only challenge is, who gets first in line to loot the military spawns. I don't like KOS, but without KOS, player encounters wouldn't be filled with fear and paranoia. When I play on 3PP servers, I know I'm easier detectable from a futher distance, than in 1PP, so I take that into consideration. I also know that roof top snipers are stuck in a static position and know how to out-maneuver someone stuck on a roof. Keeping a speedy pace and choosing your access routes is everything. If you're standing still in an exposed position, it really doesn't matter if you're in 1PP and 3PP. Problem is OFP or ArmA isn't hardcore simulation, it's not even a first person shooter. It can be. You can enforce certain difficulty levels, you can download realism modifications for your server. It can be as hardcore as the individual desire, but ArmA/OFP was never designed to be played in one single way. It can be a first person shooter. But I can also be everything else. ArmA and OFP were also third person shooters or RTS, when you lead infantry or mechanized groups. And because ArmA and OFP isn't designed with one single game mode in mind, the compromises it was forced to make to cover all aspects of the engine, means that ArmA and OFP isn't a 100% perfect first person shooter experience. -
I hate to be the kind of person saying these words: But Rocket teased the hell out of us with the "Too edgy for Steam" DayZ Standalone trailer. we were promised that if we played as an Asian chick, we'd be able to blow out brains out with a cool animation AND IN SLOWMOTION!!!

Is kicking players instantly from servers allowed?
dallas replied to duulis's topic in Server Advertisement
Problem is that right now, this is a loophole in the terms of service. Hopefully this will quickly be addressed. -
At least give us four more: F5, F6, F7 and F8. F5 = Cross hands bird flapping wings. F6 = Barking dog shadow hand. F7 = Jazz hands. F8 = Invisible box mime hands.

How to use the Walkie Talkie / Transmitter

DayZ isn't an instructions kind of game. -
It's just a nod to the Payday guys. I don't like the masks, so I don't wear them. I don't like yellow rain jackets either, so I don't wear them either. But just because I don't like some particular clothing, doesn't mean someone else don't like it and this being DayZ, where bandits play a huge and important role, I think it's perfectly within the game's nature to have different kinds of masks to cover up their faces.

Reported just to make sure. A moderator can make the call, whether this unintentionally promotes hacks or not.

1. Regular and Hardcore servers have different character Hives. You can't play your Regular character on a Hardcore server. 2. Character resets happen, when you join a server, that can't connect to Hive(the character server). If the game can't retrieve your character data, it automatically respawns you on the beach. So if this happens, you should disconnect from the server instantly, because if you don't, if the server connects to the Hive, your new life will save and overwrite your character data on the Hive.

Hahah, after a full month of 24/7 daylight servers, it's a nice change of speed.

What we need is a burlap sack with two holes for eyes.

This is a concept video and so far, we've only seen a street and a police station and 3-4 voice actors pretend playing from a written script. It unfortunately reminded me of the first gameplay video from WarZ, where a single person walked around a corner, walked through two buildings, activated two zombie encounters, while pretend talking to a dude, allegedly standing out of sight on a highway overpass. We've seen nothing from The Division, but this gameplay trailer, which I believe, at no point stated this is actual gameplay footage.

Problem with speeding up time, is that you also use time for navigation.
