C'mon now buddy, we're not that stupid. We all know people always press the wrong F-key and you pull that trigger instantly. It's perfectly within the game to kill people for lulz, but let's not pretend, you weren't always going to kill him. -
Right now they are testing a logout timer on the experimental servers. When you disconnect, your character stays ingame for 30 seconds and places itself in a sitting position.

How about a bigass army green duffle bag with a small red cross on each side. But the inventory slots are only three wide and 12-15 high, making it perfect for medic kits or boxes, but not suitable for weapons. Or maybe only medical supplies can fit into it. If you want to carry ammo, you're limited to pockets, pants and chest rigs. Something like State of Decay's duffle bags, but with a red cross.

If you see someone combat logging, you need to change position fast or back into a corner you can control. hopefully we'll see efforts to curb this cowardly behavior soonTM

Two questions please. If he can't hit you from a distance, while you're standing still, why would you think it would be the greatest idea, to keep standing still, while he was walking towards you still shooting? Did you at any point consider that if he couldn't hit you while standing still, it would be even more difficult for him, if you, you know... simply ran away?

I'm all for being friendly, but only so far. Someone stalking you, shoot or warn them off. Warning someone is a generous act in DayZ, failing to heed a warning, justifies more permanent action. Told someone, "If you run away, you're safe. If we see you again, we'll assume you're tacking us and is hostile. You get one chance." "If there's doubt, there's no doubt." -

I don't think I've been wiped ever. Three-four weeks ago, Hive went down and I couldn't load my character. As soon as the Hive was up, I logged in and recovered my old character. I imagine, that if you join a server and think you're wiped, it's mostly because the server isn't retrieving information from the Hive or because you've joined a hardcore server. Never been wiped. The times I found myself on the beach without my gear, changing to a server that followed the naming standards always fixed it. -
Just rub tuna on it.

Probably respeccing balance for next airfield raid. -
DayZ is far, far from perfect, but it generates real emotional responses unlike most other games. Shooters have become a very generic experience in the last couple of years and the cinematic experiences place you more on the sidelines as a member of the audience, rather than throw you in the midst of it, like DayZ does.

Sounds like Rocket defines that as exploiting and calls it "ghost combat logging." And I gotta agree. -

combating server hopping and combat logging is worth as much inconvenience as it takes. Because combat logging and server hopping is a major problem for legitimate players. -
I thought saline bags had been fixed, so they now only grant 500 blood, not 5000 blood, making blood bags at 1000 blood twice as effective as saline. I like that blood testing kits are rare and hard to find, instead of standard equipment in medical kits. Making it difficult to determine your blood type, encourages players to value their characters, when they've finally determined their blood type. It's a simply way to add value to life and support the survival aspect of DayZ, rather than implementing other types of RPG skills to encourage survival artificially.

Patches only wipe, if there's a reason for a wipe, like if a duping exploit has been fixed and if said duping has been determined to have a sever influence on the item economy.

Rampant duplication is always a decent reason for a character wipe. Would love to fit it in with next patch, not the wipe in particular, but certainly the fix.

How do you else explain servers, which are set up to automatically kick all, but you and your buddies game ID? So you're just going to rent a server to farm all the top tier gear and ammo, to kill zombies, who never respawn? -

No artificial skills you can grind to max, please. Keep the game skills based, in the sense that personal knowledge and experience help the player, not some bonus for eating 15 bloodbags in a row. -

People began to placing their routers near their keyboards for this very reason. So they could "lose" their connection instead of pressing alt-f4. You saw it all the time in the mod: Player was killed. Player is losing his connection... -

You back yourself into a corner, you cover the entrance, you pause your screen and while the 30 seconds time out, you can at anytime unpause the game and kill whoever enters the room to continue combat. That's what he calls ghost combat logging.
