Got a Loot Farming Server shut down :D

Just keep an eye out for it and reported them once every second day. Some people have more money than common sense and are willing to pay dollars after dollars for cheats and exploits. Make it a mission to make them pay. No need to take it personal, just make it a hobby of your's. ;)

    Where to find SKS?

Those factory buildings, that are not really factory buildings, but have a piano on the ground floor.

    is dayz teh new tf2?

I just can't wear anything ingame, I wouldn't be seen with IRL. This is why I can't wear motorcycle helmets, hardhats, bandanas, berets, designer sunglasses, respirators or other masks. I just can't.

    Allow Server Configurable Pve Only

But why would the dev team spend 15 minutes on a PvE Hive, if they don't even allow servers to have a No Kill policy?

dean is streaming dayz on twitch

Seriously No Pants Guys stole the show. Legendary screamer!
  6. I kind of hope that they were forced to leave it there for Monday. I hope Rocket and the team have been instructed to take more care of themselves, after spending the most of 2012 chasing after the ever expanding mod, constant increasing demand and after the last six months of crunch in 2013, until DayZ was finally released. As much as I'd like they to work all weekend to hotfix the latest problem, I'd rather have them pace themselves for the long run, instead of burning out midway through the alpha.

    Women Clothes

There's been talk about using horses as transportation in the future, maybe also some riding clothing and even riding helmets for protection.

    Bandit Standoff

Damn, I gotta say revealing his position by rolling, kind of subtracts from the overall achievement.

I hate to do this, but I think the cowboy hat is riding a little high on the player's head.

My opinion about KOS and Friendly

It might not be popular, but someone has to keep the pants wearing population down.

Lower Fall Damage for Alpha Plz

I think all fall damage should be automatically converted into a broken leg.
  12. Too bad, you're renting a public server, you know the server being connected to the public hive. When they allow private hives, you can knock yourself out, until that treating your public server as a private server, is a violation of the rules and if you get enough warnings, your server can be taken down without refunds.

I'm not trying to start a war

It's like complaining about Project Zomboid being isometric instead of first person. It's just a design decision and as result of using a specific engine for DayZ. Then again, I see you're locked in pretty good in your misconception, I'm just telling you how it is.

    Women Clothes

OP I think you're going around it the wrong way. I'd rather you suggest individual clothing pieces. I think right now, feminine clothing suffers a bit from the unisex approach to modeling player clothing. Maybe because we're still early in development and emphasis is more placed on items, that can be worn by both genders and focus is primarily placed on "practical" clothing. I think it would be nice, if we'll see more gender appropriate clothing in the future, without turning into WarZ or Barbie doll simulator 2014. Still for a survival perspective, I feel like the examples you posted, is the type of stereotypes DayZ is trying to avoid.

I'm not trying to start a war

I'm talking about the engine. The engine is wonderful for DayZ, infact without the engine, there'd be no DayZ. The engine just isn't a purebred first person engine and because DayZ uses this engine, 3PP has always been apart of the engine, ArmA and yes DayZ. And not only that, it's been a very popular part of the engine and DayZ. And the engine also allows the players to join to servers where 3PP is disabled. See you continue to mistake Real Vistuality for something it's not. DayZ is just not a first person shooter. Sure it can be played as one. But it's just not limited to that. Sorry.

    Hat Simulator 2014

Buddy, I'll forum friend you just because if the ski-goggles idea. I'd also love it the engine allowed some items to block other items, but that might be opening a can of worms. Like you can't attach a flashlight without a RIS rail. Gasmasks should block sunglasses ect.

Anyone else hate the word "loot"?

It's just part of the DayZ vocabulary and the DayZ vocabulary is filled with MMO terminology, because in many aspects it is an MMO.

You could make an argument for 3PP in the engine, but then again, I already did.

What do you think about TRUST ind DayZ ?

Don't trust strangers. Trust yourself. Trust your skills, your intuition and your decision making. Trust can be extended to others, but in DayZ trust should only fully be extended to close and known friends. You can extend trust to strangers, if your intuition approves, but intuition isn't an exact science and you should always have a backup plan ready, in case you misjudged the stranger or the stranger simply changes his mind. I can afford to trust a stranger as far as my escape plan allows me to. Never let a person with raised fists, weapons get near to you and always keep one eye on the stranger and one on all other entrances, because it doesn't matter how friendly your new best friend is, if a guy with a heavy weapon and clown mask enters the backdoor. Always keep cover close, because as long as you're on the move, you're safe from melee damage, but you can't outrun a bullet and need objects to place between you and the shooter. Trust, like security, is always an illusion and reality is always only a gunshot away.

I'm not trying to start a war

You're confused, because you're wrongly assuming that Real Virtuality is a first person engine. Before it was called ArmA, it was called Armed Assault and before that Operation Flashpoint. All games are battlefield or modern warfare simulations, all games have a story arc from the single solider's experience to the entire warmachine. From to tank drivers and fighter pilots. From being a part of an infantery unit to leading the units yourself. It's a first person experience, it's also a driving game, a flight sim and an RTS. You can switch between first and third person for fighting, driving and flying and use tactical view for large troop maneuvers. But ArmA and Real Virtuality is much more than that. It's also a mission editor and every unit and mission, is a template for user content. Where Real Virtuality shines the brightest, is with it's user content and for user content, DayZ mod outshined even ArmA itself. Where ArmA and Real Virtuality shines less bright is in first person. It's far from unplayable, but it's not preferable for everyone. Real Virtuality encompasses everything from first person, third person and RTS and because the engine was designed to embrace all playstyles, it's a jack of all trades, but a master of none. Don't fret... third person goes as long back and server enforced difficulty levels. See Real Virtuality allowed you to modify every aspect of the engine, including the difficulty settings, but at the same time, the engine allowed the individual server admin to enforce whatever settings, they wanted to. So if you don't like third person, you can always join a first person server, where third person is disallowed and disabled.

    Darkest darkness

Imagine the absence of light, that's pretty dark. Without sunlight, the night is pretty dark. Without sunlight reflecting off the moon's surface, it's pretty black. Without major cities beaming up city lights into the atmosphere, we're talking black-black. Then there's starlight. The sun is our closest star: The sun, it's light takes +8 minutes to travel to Earth. The next closest star, it's light takes 4.2 years to travel to Earth. You can't use starlight to see, unless you have a night vision device, modern day devices enhances starlight thirty thousand times.

    Todays Fix Erased My Character

    - If a server can't connect to the character database, you're not actually getting wiped. -If you can't load your character data, the game spawns a new character on the beach. -If you can't load your character data, join another server. -If you still can't load your character data, it's probably a problem with a character database. -If you disconnect, as soon as the character database comes online, you'll load you old character. -If you don't disconnect and the character database comes online, you probably overwrite your old data.

    Allow Server Configurable Pve Only

I think we also need a separate server for people with blue shirts and a separate server for melee only and maybe one for left handed people. Or we could just remember that DayZ isn't a PvP or PvE game, it's just a game that doesn't dictate or judge, how you interact with other people. Oh but Rocket do indeed want to scare players away from the alpha, just look at the allcaps warning on the sales page and the pricing. This is not about increasing sales, this about a vision, a harsh and unforgiving one.
