    Player runs at 50%speed.

A Olympic sprinter will quickly outrun a marathon runner on the first 100 meters, but the rest of the 42.095 meters the marathon runner will lead. Sprinting uses all your stamina quicky and are only meant for short burst distances. Over greater distances you're better off running in a relaxed tempo. Sprinting after your stamina is all used up, slows you down to a jog.

    Allow stmovement!

Don't get me wrong, I too would like the ability to spin around with my big bulky backpack with my assault rifle fully extended like a ballerina in narrow dorrways, but most of all I want my little harmless custom addon to give me an unfair advantage when fighting other player indoors and a pink tu-tu.

    3rd person with no nametags

I haven't done this from a server perspective, but if you go into the difficulty settings, there should be an edit option, to customize with features you want to allow on Regular or Veteran. You should probably edit Veteran or Expert difficulties, rather than Regular difficulties, because Regular allows alot of helping aids like player markers on the map ect. Options/Game Options/Dificulty/Veteran/Scroll down to "3rd Person View", select Enabled/Disable.
  5. Good read, what I like most about these first hand accounts are the stories people make up. We don't know for sure what goes on inside the other player's head, but we decide whether they are worth trusting, killing or too unpredictable and someone to simply avoid. These stories travel by word of mouth, are worth gold in an industry where AAA titles get mandatory minimum 95% ratings or where haters and fanboy vote either -1 or 11 on metacritic to influence the average percentage.
  6. Played since OFP, 50% of the times I forget to switch to rifle, when climbing a ladder and either take a nasty fall or have to climb all the way back and switch.

Am I the luckiest newbie player?

I love/hate the bliding darkness. The only advise I can give is to fully enjoy DayZ's beautiful sunsets, because night is comming. Suck up all that delicious and precious daylight, soon it'll be gone and you'll regret not appreciating it more.

Can't have delicious pepsi? Drink delicious tears!

    soda

You drink whatever is highest/first in your inventory. If you have a water bottle before a can of pepsi and want to drink the pepsi to first, press G(gear) go the left left side of the inventory window, where it says < Water Bottle > click on < to drop the bottle on the ground, click on > to quickly pick it up again, now the water bottle is placed behind the can and when you seclect the drink option, you'll drink the can first.

Can we Filter Servers for only Dayz Mods?

I filter for: "DayZ Zombie RPG - " "DayZ Zombie RPG - EU1" "DayZ Zombie RPG - Chicago 1" Without the quotes.

    The PvP Discussion Thread

Now that we have identified Kophka as a playerkiller, how do we distinguished Kophka from anyother non-Kophka players? Paint a detailed portrait of his custom face on the barn and how soon before all barns are painted solidt red from all the announcements?

    Replacing Humanity with Morality

Murderers however get labeled as murderers in real life. The same way a bandit's actions can set another player's progression several hours back, I feel restoring negative humanity should cost time too. Resetting negative humanity by simply clicking respawn grants Bandits total immunity.
  14. "NO KICKING TO MAKE ROOM FOR 'FRIENDS' OR CLANMATES" Instead of them having to join your teamspeak channel to tell you the rules, couldn't you just read the rules?

    Replacing Humanity with Morality

"If you gaze into the abyss the abyss gazes into you." Not evil, just inhumane. You've gone from killing in selfdefense, to killing bandits and people associated with bandits. Soon you'll be killing for beans.

    Winchester OP?

Lots of mmo similarities in DayZ. Not sure it it's op. It's probably the best weapon out there since zombies got imba, but I don't know how it competes in PvP.
  17. Kicking players to make room for friends or people with teamspeak, is hardly supporting the community.

    Humanity Information?

The more people you kill, the longer you play as Opfor. Promotes PvP.

    Replacing Humanity with Morality

I believe humanity covers the struggle Survivors are faced with best. For me morality is something connected to societies or communities and in Post-Chernarus society has ceased to exist. Even the best of persons has to struggle with his own humanity in a desperate attempt to survive. If you're a good natured person, you can be forced to destroy another human being to protect your companions or the belongings you absolutely require to survive. You can come face to face with another survivor in a looted store, both needing the leftovers to survive, none of you having the moral right to the last can of beans, but someone will either have to give in or the situation could escalate to the lose of life. I think alot of players have experienced some regret killing other survivors. A sadness about being fueled by selfinterest or survival to destroy another player's character progression. I don't think you need to make an ingame feature for all of these psychological experiences, some of them arises natural from the circumstances and situations the players are put in. The cool thing about the humanity system is even Survivors can find themselves hunted as Bandits, if they are too quick to chose their own survival over human kind's.

This..This is just bringing me to tears.

Have no experience with Sixupdater, this is how I mannaged without: Find your main ArmA2: Combined Operations folder. Create a folder inside called @DayZ Create a folder inside that called Addons Download all files from http://us.armafiles.info/ dayz_anim_v0.1.rar dayz_code_v1.5.7.rar dayz_equip_v1.2.3.rar dayz_sfx_v1.1.rar dayz_v1.2.4.rar dayz_vehicles_v0.1.rar dayz_weapons_v1.1.1.rar Unpack these to ArmA 2 Combined Operations/@DayZ/Addons Create a shortcut, add -mod=@DayZ -nosplash in the target line.

    Do non-PK servers exist?

Stay away from large cities and get off the beach as fast as possible. If you're not much into PvP, make it your own game to avoid other players. Move inside the treelines, instead of on the roads, listen for gunfire and change your direction. Find small villages for loot or a supermarket for survival equipment. If you have a waterbottle you can refill it by swimming in lakes. You can collect raw meat from wild animals with a hunting knife and make a fire place with matches and cook the meat.

What version are you running, bottom right corner?

    Voip?

Direct channel is a bit of a hit and miss. And using any other channel broadcasts to everybody on the server, which is pretty annoying, when you're listening for moans in the dark. For a team experience an external voice program is mandatory.

    Deer Stands

+1 what mr. combover said. Deer stands could have been occupied by deserters. You can easily take out the three zombies guarding the deer stand and you really absolutely should. Them there deer stand guards are solder zombies and them be dropping all kinds of sexeh loots. Before the zombie buff/screw up, deer stands were unprotected and for anyone farming deer stands, it became a mind numbingly lame experience. Now you atleast have to sneak in or shoot a few walker in the face. Where there's loot, there ought to be zombies. It's not like two walkers and a bunny is an impossible obstacle.
