  1. Haven't played Insurgency in a long time. A decent way to kill time is also to open up the editor, double-click on the map, press enter and then press preview. This will drop a rifleman into the map editor. After that, experiment with dropping different units/vehicles/enemies into the editor and preview it.

    Guilt?

One night was I was bored, back in ze old side-chat days, I ended up crossing the map east to west to help out a new lost player. I picked up a remington 870 with a flashlight for him from a deer stand on the way and showed him a few tricks about survival. Stranger ended up joining our team.

Video: How is he still alive!!!?

You better unlearn those FPS habits. A bullet is not fired from a crosshair or a scope. The crosshair is not perfectly accurate in 1st or 3rd' date=' since it's camera angle is attached to the player, not the bullet. ArmA's bullets are fired from the chamber, so if your muzzle is clipping a corner or the crest of a hill, you wont hit your target. Nor is your bullet fired from your elevated sights, just because your sights clear the corner/hill, doesn't mean the bullet's path is unobstucted.[img']http://i45.tinypic.com/2mwyle.jpg Windows aren't bullet proof, but firing through glass will change the bullets trajectory. Also who in the video was shooting an AS50 though glass, OP was firing a much less powered suppressed M4 though a window. You hear the target getting hit, but he could have been struck in the arm, while the majority of bullets missed him or were doing reduced damaged from passing through the window.

Shooting the driver of a vehicle

If you kill an AI driver somestimes, they die with the foot stuck on the gas and you have to hunt down the vehicle. Haven't tried it with a player.

He didn't have to switch to scope, just switch to 1st person.

    Debug Plains forever?

Search for debug wilderness. If you can't find any other sollution, you have to run south east for 1-2 hours. Someone claimed by joining Canada 2 server or something, they would spawn in the deug forrest instead and only have to run east 5-10min. Good luck.

    Stuck in teh Wilderness

1-2 hours running south east or respawn if you don't have awesome gear.
  8. After the remaining 2% of the population realize they have survived the infection and are immune, they promptly seek out other non-infected humans and kill them on sight, seems like a natural reaction for a generation raised on violent video games and gangster rap.

Video: How is he still alive!!!?

What mostly amazes me is he stuck around and didn't disconnect.

Video: How is he still alive!!!?

Nothing in the video shows you score any critical hits to the player, no red mist. Windows can also deflect a bullets trajectory quite a bit. Don't rely on 3rd person in firefights and if you do, pay attention to bullet impacts and correct accordingly. This is where your bullet lands, when you're relying on 3rd person and hud crosshairs:

Video: How is he still alive!!!?

There's a discrepancy between the 3rd person cam and rifles actual aim. In 3rd person you can't rely on the hud crosshair is spot on. You either have to switch to sights or 1st person. Your sniper keep hitting the items infront of the player, hence the white dust cluds, instead of red mist. While 3rd person is great for "peaking" around corners, you're gimping yourself when it comes to accuracy.

    How to dupe items?

We need a moderator in here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch.

    TWO HIVES

PvE only servers would offer no challenge to any semi-decent players.

    How to dupe items?

    Nice try.
  15. Atm DayZ is more a murder sim than a survival sim. Remember the book/movie The Road, where the man has a revolver with two rounds. Where his constant dilemma is whether to save them for himself and the kid or use them to kill. Maybe it would have been another movie if he'd had a shopping cart full of ammunition or a sexed up assault rifle or if the kid was a child prodegy biathlon champion with a preference towards dual wielding desert eagles John Woo style. Imagine if weapons and ammo was reduced in DayZ. Where you'd be forced to conserve your rounds for special occations and couldn't just relog to refill your magazines. You might get lucky to find a weapon, maybe extremely lucky and find some ammo too, but since you only had a handful of rounds, you wouldn't waste them on the first noob survivor on the beach, who probably wouldn't have anything as valuable as the round it would take to kill him. Maybe you wouldn't waste your ammo, maybe you were all out of ammo, so instead of killing him on sight, you'd try to bluff him and go: "Hand over your beans ...or else?!" Noob just might cough up his beans, noob might make a run for it. Maybe you'd shoot him in the back, maybe you couldn't justify the couple of buttels and let him run off. Instead of turning bandits into something magical 6th sense easy to detect or punnish them for not participating in the all out coop love parade, how about we try out limiting access to 30round assault rifles and piles of magazines? Limit assault weapons to military instalations and only spawn double-barreled, Enfields and Cz 550 in deer stands. Makes you think, doesn't it?

    Rearm 5.56 ammo

They spawn near crash sites and baracks. They are legit. Either a small ammo crate or a medical box. Either mixed medical supplies or mixes magazines, around 25 magazines. If you ever see a screenshot of a hacked ammo crate, it will have 50 of 10-15 different types of rifles and 50-100 of magazines for each type of weapons. Legit crates and hacked crates are very different and easy to tell apart.

    why

You're stuck in the "debug Wilderness". It's a bug and you have accidentally spawned outside the normal map, where player models are teleported, while receiving character data. Do not kill anybody out there, it's considered a bannable offense. To get back from the debug wilderness, you have to run south east for 1-2 hours. If you spawned in the debug forrest, you only have to run east for 5-10 minutes. If you don't have some really awesome gear, you should consider pressing respawn, instead of running for 1-2 long hours.

    Why do you murder?

Because bandits often miss their first shot, which I consider an open invitation to do a good deed for humanity.
  19. On a 225km2 map you can't really blame people for sniping and there's alot of ways to avoid snipers or atleast become less of a sitting duck. Sniper set up where most players congregate. It makes absolutely no sense to cast your spiderweb, where there's no flies. Snipers, like predators are drawn to wateringholes, where there's most traffic and where their prey are forced to enter their kill zone. If you absolutely must enter Cherno or Elektro, keep on the move, do not cross open areas or move in a too predictable manner. Keep cover close and change direction constantly, skip through alleys and turn every corner. Inside the city, be constantly aware of tall buildings and the surrounding hills. Exiting cities, search for concealed escape routes, treelines and terrain.

    Map & GPS

Three digit square = 100x100meters. Two digit squares = 1000x1000meters. Go into your options, filter infantery controls and assign a key to "GPS toggle". Then you can switch your gps on/off and watch it, without using the map.
