    Chernarus vs Ireland

Not funny at all, well... kind of funny, pretty funny actually. +beans. Don't add a disclaimer, disclaimers ruin lives and jokes. :)

    How much would you pay?

I bought Mount & Blade in the alpha/beta for $11 or something, but ended up buying the full retail game, just to support to the final product. In DayZ's current state, I've had more hours of enjoyment, than some of the $50-60 titles in my library. I think a price point around the lower part of $30-40 would be reasonable.

    MAKE NIGHT TIME MORE LIGHT

Buddy if you actually stayed long enough on a night server, you might realize that the moon, like the sun, isn't a static object in the sky. Like the sun, the moon rises and sets on the night sky and it follows a lunar calendar too. At the moment the moon's lit surface is diminisihing towards a new moon. In two weeks time, when a full moon rises, you'll have all the light you need at night, that is as long as the moon is up.
  5. Depends on the server, some servers allow you to swim forever without losing anything. I swam from Skalisky yesterday, but before I swam with all my gear, I dropped my rifle, ammo, backpack and binoculars and tested swimming only with a can of food in my main inventory. Since I didn't drop the can after 60 seconds, I picked up my stuff and swam across. Didn't lose a thing. However if swimming with gear is not enabled on your server, you will drop everything but what's in your toolbelt, you handgun and your gunbelt. P.S. I'm not a big fan of hackers, but I can't believe the people, who got teleported overthere, didn't disconnect like you wisely did and started killing eachother, like some kind of reality show. Kind of funny :D

    Pending Update: Build 1.7.2.4

It's certainly encourages players to stay alive, which fits well with the overall theme of the game: Survival.
  7. Guns are deadly, that's what make them guns.
  8. Beans for feeling guilt, means you're not entirely psycho and that you're able to enjoy the mod for what it is, an intense and sometimes psychological experience.
  9. I know the difference and I only cringe, when people, who should know better, confuses the two. When Kurt Russel tells Sylvester Stalone to "pass me a clip," I'm perfectly relaxed. They are actors in a movie and in a few movies, the grips even manages to switch the hero's gun with the villans and them being actors, they can't even tell a revolver from an automatic. They are only focused on saying their lines wiht intensity and as if they really mean it, when they say: "I'm out, pass me a clip!" Had the honor of shooting a Garand for six months in 93.
  10. How much did you did you pay to play DayZ, I don't really distinguish if you paid for ArmA or DayZ and how many hours have you clocked in DayZ? If you spent 30-40 bucks and spent more than 50-100 hours in this unfinished, sometimes buggy mod, I'd suggest you've gotten your money's worth. If you get another 50-100 hours "enjoyment" out of DayZ, maybe you've even gotten more than your money's worth. I own a few $60 titles, which I only squeezed 10-20 hours out of and since I've played the hell out of DayZ, I think I made a good deal. Being an ArmA2 player, I got DayZ for free, but in a sense I'm in the same situation as you. I have to buy both ArmA3 and the DayZ standalone. I also know I've gotten several hundred hours worth in both the original game and additional hundreds in the mod. Me, I can hardly wait buying DayZ, knowing that some of these money will go directly into Rocket's pockets(rhyme). No matter if you bought ArmA for DayZ or not, when DayZ goes standalone, we have to move forward, just like most original ArmA2 players, will have to move forward, when ArmA3 is released. Bohemia Interactive will have to reserve their rescources on updating ArmA3 and fix, whatever bugs it brings, Rocket will too with the standalone. Having said that, BIS isn't a stranger to updating their past titles, even their 2001 title received an update last summer. Maybe the last update DayZ the mod receives will allow people to run their own small hives, but I don't think Rocket will be able to support two hives, on for the mod and for the standalone. Maybe BIS will support an ArmA2 hive, since DayZ has been very good to them. But again, when you're deciding whether or not to buy DayZ the game, ask how much you paid to play the mod and if you think you got your money's worth.

Poll: DayZ or The War Z?

    post moved to warz chit-chat.
  13. I'm not a big fan of 100% KOS, but DayZ without PvP is like L4D without zombies.

Poll: DayZ or The War Z?

Me, I'm just one of those basement dwelling asberger fundamentalist fanboys, but if you don't disclose conflicts of interest, you open yourself up to all kinds of accusations.
  15. Reassigned mine. Changed F to vault. Changed Space to weapon mode. Changed V to switch weapon. I also changed Binoculars to 2xB, so I don't accidentally switch to Binos, if I miss click.

    Your favorite death?

Got to say my favourites include static objects. -A firefight in Zeleno left me with low blood and no bandages, accidentally pressed prone and turned in a doorway. Crunch leg broken and started bleeding, bleed out trying to crawl to the supermarket in search of bandages. -Tried to board the ship wreck at Rify from another boat. Got crushed between either a wave or my boat and the wreck. -Swam below a boat bridge and got crushed between a wave and the bridge. Swam bleeding to the beach and bleed out, while bandaging. -Fell off ladder, climbing with a handgun several times. You have to have a sense of humour about it.

    Effectiveness of Battleeye

As Jean-Paul Sartre said: "The only problem with online gaming is other people."
  21. Most groups you come across will be communicating and scheming on external voice programs. Most of them are hostile to strangers, at the moment it's very hard to meet new people and team up.

    Bandit camp goes boom!

A satchel charge is like a little ladies purse stuffed with C4. They are ingame and very fun to use.

    No Respawn button now? /sigh

Oh man... imagine if killing is decreased because of this, less killing, more crippling. :)
