Can you store a 2nd primary or secondary gun?
dallas replied to Obsolescence's topic in New Player Discussion
Lost a M107 and later a M14 AIM, had it stored in my backpack and when I logged in later, it looked like the game loaded an earlier backpack version. -
Some people play DayZ for the experience. Other people play it purely for the gear.

Tom Berenger has a lot to answer for
dallas replied to Gogster (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
In PvP speed and solid cover is everything. Become unpredictable, plan your route to pass as many obstacles as possible, keep on the move and keep cover close. If you're moving, you increase the chance of the first shot missing you. If you're constantly moving in and out of sight, cutting corners and only stopping for short moments, you might force the sniper to rush his shot or wait for an easier target. It doesn't take alot to miss a long distance shot and if you keep cover close, you can do your best to deny the sniper a chance to correct and hit. If a shot misses you, you have a very short time to react. As sound travels slower than bullets, when you hear the bang, the shooter has already had a half second to reload, recover his aim and adjust the shot. When you hear the first shot it's time to up and run, keep runnig till you reach cover and use whatever follow up shot that misses you, to figure out which side of the cover you want to hide behind. Trust your flight instinct and just go! If you have to alert the whole towns zombies, do that, but keep running until you have solid cover between you and the shooter. When you're behind cover you can decide if you want to deal with the zombies and then the sniper or keep running. If you decide to run, stay unpredictable and chose the path with the most bushes, corners and obstacles. If you want to take the sniper out, you have to find a way to locate his position, without presenting a static target. -

Shut your dirty whore mouth about TOM BERENGER!!!! Sorry I'm a little bit sensetive about America's greatest ever actor. On the subject, I suggest you plan your approach better, move fast across open areas or put as many obstacles between you and potential sniper positions. -
okay, okay, I'll be good cop... Before you learn to lose chasing zombies, I suggest you learn to avoid zombies first. Look to the right side of screen and notice those ear and eye icons. The faster you run, the taller you walk, the easier it is for zombies to see and hear you. First thing you want to so is to toggle crouch, runing crouched will keep you moving around at a decent pace, but will make you harder to detect. Secondly you want to press shift(2xshift to toggle) to walking whenever you see or hear zombies. Don't run of roads/concrete, you're loud and very visible. If you have to corss a road near zombies, crouch/walk/crawl. If you need to pas close to zombies, hit the dirt. Also pick up empty cans/whiskey bottles, press F to change weapon mode and hold left mouse down to throw and distract zombies with the sound of a smashing bottle/clunking can. Lesson #2: How to cope with other players(assholes) in DayZ. (but lets save that for another day)

Don't play on private hives, unless you're buddy tight with the admin, there's a reason why they are private and don't abide by whitelist rules.

Like the lack of a vertical grib on the A1.

I've got some loose change you can have at NWA.

Nice story about a good guy, who gets what he doesn't deserve and another that got exactly what he deserved. +1 to karma. Agreed.
-
Well then a standalone is perfect news for you, since you only have to buy DayZ the standalone and not ArmA3. win/win
-
Hopefully you took that truck for a spin over their tents, before you went on your merry way.

Get a paper route or tell your parole officer to get his shit together and find you a better paying job.

Actually the bullets don't just drop. The game has real ballistics, so the bullet climbs till the halfway point of it's zeroing, then it begins to drop. If you're zeroed to 300 meters, you'll overshoot your sights slightly at 150 meters and hit below at +400meters. Also unlike other shooters, your bullet is spawned for the chamber of the rifle and not from your 1st/3rd person point of view. This means if you're relying on your artificial crosshairs you wont be as accurate. Using your sights wont automatically mean you score bullseye hit everytime either. Some sights are elevated high above the barrel, which means you'll hit much lower on extreme close ranges, so the best possible thing you can do, untill you know exactly what your sights can and cannot do, is to be very aware of where your hits impact your target or it's suroundings and correct accordingly.

The blood animations are ridiculous

Just a flesh wound. -
Try it out without first. PMC will increase the textures of the male survivor skins. BAF will increase the textures of the camo clothing and ghillie suits(?) BAF skins does not spawn in this build, but will get fixed next update.

I guess we're even Mr. OP Bandit. A lone runner passed very close by my NVGs tonight, I heard her bandit heartbeat, aimed high on her little person, while she ran down the coastal road. I watched her for 20-30 seconds, before I let her slide out of my sights. Keep your heart cold, but your head colder. :)

This is why I destroy or empty tents and then saves them.

Crossbow is a low tier, impractical, easy to find, silent weapon. Once you get the hang of using the lines on the bow to aim with / \ you got a nice reliable silent weapon.

Let's play from beginning with every new big patch!
dallas replied to Dedulka's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Snipers are already testing. You ability to zig and zag. We don't need to reset every character to cater to the lowest common demonimator. If you haven't already found a scoped rifle, some decent gear or NVGs, no amount of resets will help you. If you want some gucci gear, you gotta put in some work around here. -
Bohemia and Dayz Devs fail to protect their community
dallas replied to BIOSEMTEX's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Obviously if you bought ArmA for DayZ, you wouldn't have the first clue about BIS' dedication and support to their modding community, in fact DayZ is a testament to exactly that. The few of us who actually owned ArmA before three months ago, aren't shitting bricks or ready to burn our bras in the street. So good luck with your entitled petitions, boycotts, outrage, conserns ect. ect. bla. bla. -
Great choice for music.

It's sad that people leave when server hits night
dallas replied to Rager (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I only play at night. Most recently I got by without NVGs. If you use your lights with caution, you'll be just fine. If you're reckless, you'll risk getting hurt, day or night. Last night a bandit passed me close enough to hear her little bandit heart. Trained my M4 at the back of her head and watched her slowly fade from my sights. Easy pickings, but I'm no bandit. -

Old guys in DayZ? I don't think so.
