    lore driven payment model

As it's Bohemia made, think more along the lines of Arma III DLC's: namely added items / skins / features only accessible to those who have bought the DLC. I can envision DayZ progressing this way. I.E. you can find a littlebird helicopter and can fly in it as a passenger, but can't fly it yourself without the Dayz Helicopters DLC. Same could go for unique items / areas of the map. -C

    Stable Branch - 0.55 Discussion

Patch notes would be really helpful right now. I'd like to see the changes as well. My thoughts from 3-4 hours last night: PRO: • Zed's are great. Stealth is great. decreased loot spawn is great. CON: • Temperature variables have been buffed. I went from just above orange cold to hot in 20 seconds at a campfire with 5 logs, and from wet to dry in almost exactly a minute. The flipside? Back to wet in 15 seconds of rain, and back to cold in about 3-4 minutes. • Silencers absolutely need to be working. I popped a zombie at the edge of kozlovka (one to the head, two to the body) and quickly found 8 more on top of me; all but one from that town had aggro'ed. • While decreased loot is great, your object dispersion ratios are not. I'm finding nothing in half of cities, and then mini-loot bombs in individual spawn points (3-5 items on top of each other). The coding here needs to be revamped to not allow for multiple items spawned in one location, and also only allow for a certain amount of items per n units of space (I.E. 350 spawnable items per 1000m2. I understand the downside with this thought process, but if it was recoded from <20 minutes of respawn to something like an hour or two, you would still be able to keep loot farmers from being able to move gear / cycle while still repopulating barren areas with loot. You could also "zone" the map and require gear repopulation of a zone based on the decrease of objects in another zone - effectively making the whole map respawn based on activity in other areas. Just a few different ideas. • In 3-4 hours of playing, I never stumbled upon an axe of any kind. The one I had went from damaged to ruined after 3-4 fires of wood, and now I'm orange freezing without heat. I'll try and survive the night with my knife / branches. -C Edit: reading about Central Economy as we speak. Looks like you are already on the right track, it just has a little ways to go. Nice work!

    0.55 confirmed?

Smoss - I run a chemical company, and every year on 04/01 I send our vendors / employees potential leads on new sales opportunities for different chemicals. Mr. Lyon (random phony company name) (phone number of random zoo) Works like a charm. B) -Colton

    Exp Update: 0.55.127059

Has anyone tested the sword / mace yet on the new zombies? I'd like to see if they've improved it from a 2-hit to a one. That additional attack distance would be amazingly helpful.

A new way to start a fire

Alcohol used as rubbing alcohol (which is what the tinctures are implying, in my opinion) is typically 99% Isopropyl Alcohol (worst case 70%, but normally 99) and is indeed flammable, at both concentrate and 70% dilution. generating a spark via tazer with gasoline will also ignite, probably taking off your arm hairs while at it. :) Flares would be a great way to start a fire also.

Weapons that degrade require far too much cleaning

No need to add a full additional mechanic. Just remove the ability for guns to become "ruined" and run the system as an in-place dirty mechanic. Pristine = shoots well Worn = carbon buildup after 100+ shots damaged = carbon buildup after n shots / being subjected to water badly damaged = multiple of above, 2n Or make it such that the only chance for a gun to be ruined is for it to be "hit" in the hitbox for that weapon. PS - I'm a slow cleaner. My sig P229 takes me ~30m when cleaning in an expeditious manner, and my Stag / DPMS 15 typically took around an hour+ if I really took the time to white-glove the sonofabitch. -C

    Best place to store ammo...?

I haven't had an issue doing it, and you can still use items on your hotbar that reside in protector cases.
  11. I'd like to see three levels of reloading for improvised bows: 1) In hand arrows. It's well known that archers from many different time periods would not use a quiver for arrows fired in rapid progression- they would have 3-5 in their "primary" hand that is holding the bow string. These should be quick reload arrows. 2) in quiver arrows. these restock your hand arrows, and take 2-4 seconds to pull out of your quiver. 3) in bag arrows. These restock your quiver with animation. -Colton FYI - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zGnxeSbb3g

    Best place to store ammo...?

Inside the only item that I see in my inventory: protector cases. But really, you've got to carry at least 2-3 mags / stripper clips / speedloaders etc. if you are planning on hopping in a firefight. Otherwise it is just a "shoot to force cover" and run.

    Bartering Etiquette

Both of the above made me smile. I was wondering why you were jetting out of there quickly (minus the fiance / wife part - that i can understand!) - makes sense, to be honest. I ended up leaving a (P) hig-cap vest and a decked AKS-74U with mags on the ground. No room after I put together my full uniform. Thanks again mate, and let me know if you'd like to group up for some fun. -Colton

How about the PSO and three protector cases, one damaged 2 P/W? Other than that, I'd rather not gimp my setup. I don't need either that badly, it just completes my transition from backpack to ghillie.
