    God I missed this place... You've updated the server files on steam yet again yesterday, to exactly the same outdated version as last week. I can see you changed a bunch of formatting and I'd like to start adapting to those changes, see if I'm going to have to wipe my server and start again. You need to upload 1.18.154875 NOT 1.18.154754!

    Finally have a half decent PC and good internet, played a couple weeks on pubs until I got fed up with exploits and my general dislike of people. Fired up my own server and put in a few hundred hours including a 39hr marathon collecting vehicles and trucking stuff from all over the map to the coast making a respawn camp for myself. I'm actually kinda happy with the game at this point, all I ever wanted it for was a 1-2 player sandbox and it's starting to have enough toys in the sandbox to keep me entertained. Considering what I saw in a few tents on pubs and how easily I accidently duped a VSS on my own server it's not a good multiplayer game for people who don't want to exploit. I am really looking forward to trying the fireworks, something that pulls infected like that will be fun. Anyhow I'm dialing in my server settings for my personal tastes and would rather be working with the 1.18 ones than carrying on with 1.17 versions that will be no good after the next update. Also curious to see if I can move my 1.17 database files into 1.18 and keep my collected stuff.

    Nope, rebooted, full reinstall. Server is .154765 and the client is .154875 It kind of is the developers problem if the person they're paying to deliver a product isn't delivering it. The devs have also fucked up and "updated" by re-uploading the same version by accident a few times as far as I recall too.

    Why host the fucking server files on steam if they're behind the client? They both updated this morning and it still won't work due to incompatible versions. Would be way cool to be able play the game I paid in advance for 8 fucking years ago.

    "Dayz was a tech demo for a tech demo of Arma 4" I knew the DayZ engine replacement was a crowdsourced tech testbed for ArmA4 but never saw another early access cashgrab like reforger coming.

    I'm trying to set up a local EXP server client and getting a version mismatch. My non-EXP setup is working fine. Is this a known thing or should I spend time troubleshooting it?

  11. You're going to get absolutely zero help for a steam ban here. This is a software company who sells their product through steam, they don't manage or even have access to your steam account.

    I was told there'd be helicopters, not impressed. Not surprised either at this point.
  14. So I'm trying to get a PvE experience out of this engine eventually. I've been messing around on my own lan server driving around with impunity parking my ride and setting up tents wherever I want, no other player to take my stuff. Has anyone seen infected retrace your steps like it smells you (I think mapped your sound data) like it kind of knows you were there and is checking it out? 99% of the time they seem slow to react and or all or nothing agro on your exact location. I've encounter two or three lone ones wander in some time after I'd killed all the visible ones and ones who agroed on noise near the edge of a spawn zone. I do my looting routine and get back in my truck where I'm safe and I believe less visible to AI, I check my IRL texts or sort ammo in the truck, go for a smoke 5-10 minutes after shooting and looting. I see a lone infected wander in not agroed but retrace my steps to varying degrees it seems. The best one was and army one who wandered in from the left walked into the long barracks that was my last stop before getting in my truck, came back out and wandered to where I spawned in, seemed to go back to normal random wander at that point. Do they have some higher level search/sensory functions that just don't show up in large groups or for some other reason, most of the time I can kill half them in a town or base running them over before their AI even "wakes up"?

  16. I gave it break for a year and half, came back to the news "it's a finished game", it isn't. Not announcing my departure but sure making it a point of mentioning how pissed I am at the marketing lies. The new engine problems are BS, the new engine was in when I took my break and it seems more fucked now than then?

    I have my own running but thought I'd hop in a real one for few hours and see what's going on. This was on and official EXP server. My home server is worse but that's expected seeing as how loot is set up for 60-80 players, lost interest in mine until more pieces of the game come back. I'll eventually turn my loot spawns right down it's a joke right now, drop a tent go loot ten minutes one side of it, drop stuff at the tent, go ten minutes on the other side repeat. On mine looting and logging out then back in seems to get stuff to respawn even quicker can just hit the same place over and over.

    Played a bit of public last week, got a spawn on the S/W corner so I swam to Skalatisy my favourite closed ecosystem to test loot spawning, I don't think there's a player spawn there anymore? I could run laps of the island collecting canned goods in excess, ammo, and guns. As far as survival lol, pretty damn easy on a magical island that grows canned goods on tables and at boats every 5 minutes.

    If you have a newish computer and 12g of ram or more you can run both on one machine, you can also run a 1 player server on pretty much any old junk laptop or tower if you have a disused one lying around, I'm doing it on a 4 core laptop with 8g and still getting 500 server fps with more infected per spawn zone and 80 complete cars.

    It's actually a great idea if everything else was working, but it's not, survival and zombies are trivial in the zombie survival game making it just another shooter where finding "leet guns" happens to be time consuming without hopping or help.

    That sir is on BI, there used to be much much more to this game and so much more promised but yet to be delivered. The M4s and AKMs are absolutely spawning in the numbers specified to answer your question, just hard to find as they're supposed to be. If I wipe my server so none are in storage, they are spawning at NWAF, Tisy, and helicopter crashes that I've seen. If more than specified number end up on a server on the ground or in "cargo" "hoarder" they stop spawning. You can also be standing at a valid spawn point for one and it could be spawned at a heli crash half way across the map, all "luck of being at the right place, right time" even if the number counted is low enough to spawn one, as it should be. **edit** To quote this dude "THE ONLY THING TO DO" sounds about right, where the hell is the rest of the survival zombie game, the "fortnite" experience with trivial zombies is not what I was advertised.

    Thank you, I think you answered a half dozen other questions I had in that link too. Coincidentally my server crashed overnight and after a bit longer than normal start up it did a self restore. To be perfectly clear, I'm not really trying to force anything, I just successfully got the answer(s) I was trying to get by asking in the right places for a week or two.

    For fuck sake, They're supposed to be rare, about 10 each per server and counted in storage, SVDs even less. If you cant't find them at heli crashes or tier 3-4 military sites they are hoarded or your luck is trash. Wait for mods after they finish the core game before you worry about your pew-pew, you'll get what you want, if they ever finish this game? Automatic guns being hard to find is literally one of very few things that is working.

    It's a non issue for me at this point, you said in another post this morning it's 30 seconds so I looked in my backup folder and it's only backing up every 30 minutes if players are connected apparently. You work for the company, you tell me how it it gets no more that 30 seconds lost when it's only making backups every 30 minutes? I've asked two or three times in EXP to get an explanation on why it's 12 half-hour segments instead of 2 five minute ones or a maybe give us a line in serverDZ.cfg to tune the interval ourselves.
