I remember playing Doom when it first came out and thinking how cool it was that you couldn't see your character. It was like looking through their eyes and so much more immersing.

Didn't the private hive characters get wiped by accident in a recent patch too? This sound like the bigfoot sightings in San Andreas when it first came out. -
It's in memory of a terrain glitch that used to be there. There was a 10 foot tall grass covered pyramid in the land mesh.

Windows task manager is taskman. If you don't know what taskman is you haven't tried everything or your on a mac or windows 8? If you're on windows vista or 7 hit ctrl+alt+delete, open task manager, right click it on the task bar and pin it while you're at it for next time, right click DayZ in the application tab and you'll have an option to maximize it. -
It looks like it ignored the person who set it? That's the second video I've seen and the first one the guy who set it blew himself up. I'm dying to see a video of the effects from someone who's not getting blown up.

Keep taskman open and right click it from the application tab to maximize? I run windowed across three TVs and my taskbar randomly jumps to my middle screen blocking my view of my quickslotted items. I have to tab the game into inventory, use my pointer to drag the bar back to the right screen (twice) which minimizes my game. Then I have to use taskman to maximize the game. -
You should be safe for the week now. I believe I read in one post the they did and in another they didn't wipe persistence this week. I read allot of message boards so it all runs together.

Was my attempt at early morning being funny. It started with someone saying you only find a "low end" pistol in firehalls. In this type of game the difference between "high end" gun and a "low end" one is the one that puts bullets in the other guy first usually.

No, they were reading wrong due to a bug. I could go directly from POI to the next very accurately when I first started playing and then I believe .54 made some of them bug out. They're working great again as far as I can tell now and I really like the orienteering model one they added.

I think they used the wrong terms? Civilian/military weapon spawns would be more accurate maybe? The Makarov would be a higher tier because it's a military spawn but it takes 2-3 body hits to stop a raging bamabi.

Is the 2-4 hour and random reset going to be a permanent thing? That's almost as bad as that box of .380 rounds I was looking at last night when that popped up that was an NE chunk of the map when I logged back in. Seriously I like navigating through the deep woods with or without a compass keeping my bearing by fixing on a certain tree or rock and it can screw me up big time. Oh and driving who doesn't love sprinting for half an hour retracing the route you just drove to find your ride, maybe. -
What about the reset of character/persistence?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I read the private character wipe was unintentional and caused by a patch or hotfix? The did a scheduled intentional wipe of the public characters a month or so ago. -

I shoot corrosive mil ammo in my SKS and haven't cleaned it in two years. I put bullets in pull the trigger and it works. You think the mud people who use Russian guns clean them ever? -

Uhm yeah it was a Wasr ak47 a Romanian clone. Russian military rifles don't give a fuck about care or cleanliness either. They chrome line all the important parts so even corrosive primed mil ammo isn't a big deal anymore. You do what that guy did in 9 minutes without the talking swab the barrel and gas tube whipe the other parts with solvent back to killing. -

When it comes to gamers age really is just a number. Met the worst examples of 20+s playing this mind you I've never played cod etc. I let my kids play my MMOs and persistent online games occasionally with the expectation they behave as well or better than RL becade that my reputation/accounts that's on the line and they're learning not to be cod kids that grow up into those f word this n word that sub humans that make me avoid TS like the plague. As far as kids an games I've had my own PC since I was 8 in 1986, a good metabolism goes a long way, lol.

Didn't know you could toggle this with s double tap of the shift key. I remapped my w key for a change of pace after learning the road in the truck for a week. Does it slow your sidestep as well?

What's arma3 weapon resting? I'm no marksman but go out popping of St the range with my family a few times a year. I shake like a leaf from years of drinking and drugs and the game's sway mechanics look like when I shoot "free". There's always a bench or post or whatever I can brace against though and my IRL sway goes away. -

All rifles in real life need a rail to mount a rail mounted bipod like the Atlas. Not all bipods are rail mounted but the one and only bipod currently in game is rail mounted. If there was a clip on or bayonet lug mounted one sure but the Atlas needs a rail or some serious McGivering or Red Green duct tape skillz to mount ortherwise. They should just add a screw on rail and 2 screws in the loot tables to make everyone happy. -

A gun does need a rail to properly mount the Atlas rail mounted bipod found in game. Given the setting of the game the roll of duct tape or metal wire would probably provide a functional but ugly means of affixing it or a guy could tape a pair of pliers, broken/cut broom handle, sticks, etc to make two legs to support a barrel. How about a mechanic to throw your pack in front of you to use it as a sandbag type rest? I think the what the bipod fits isn't an "is it possible?" limitation it's a balance issue.
