    so much for the struggle

It could be if they cry more, throw around the word majority, and threaten to vote with their wallets like we didn't read the description before we paid the same goddamn price they did. I just bought my second copy so I get two votes for team hardcore nao!

    The real and virtual Chernarus

Cool video, flying an RC aircraft FPV only without a second radio, pilot and LOS is illegal here.

    loot splosion

Lootsplosions or not some of us hide/hoard gear, even more so as loot gets rarer. I'm sure we'll see more wipes because of exploits in development. I hope we're not thinking there'll be a wipe every time someone builds a "camp" or two because someone else doesn't have the patience to do so.

    How was your Day(Z)?

Bought my second copy today and got to play with my fifteen year old son for a good four hour session. He's played before with my copy and has a good understanding of the mechanics and knowledge of the map. My computer is in the back corner of the living room and he plugged the wife's laptop into the main tv in the livingroom giving me a good view of both games. I've been playing on an under ten pop private and was set up near the radio antenna at neaf and he spawned in at Kamyshovo. Someone had found my truck but had to drop the SKS they were double carrying to relieve me of it and junior found me two boxes and a cz527 mag to feed it at the police station. I told him to mind the 3-4 zombies that call it home and he got comfy and ate apples and the bit of canned goods available watching the town from the police station roof. I needed my compass more then a gun to get there fast so rather than double carry I bagged the trumpet that I had bullets for and set out with an unloaded SKS shouldered. I followed the line of deerstands heading roughly south avoiding Berizino, it took me an hour to get there so we chatted about a game plan while he got his stats together. He talked me around the two zeds in the north of town right in the police station door. I gave him the trumpet and loaded the SKS and we set out to bag anything worthwhile and put it on a nearby hill. Three hours of sneaking, shooting, some awesome kiting while the other guy does the shooting and some really purposeful communication just looting the first town. I was so happy to see a youngin actually playing a game trying to survive rather than yolo, respawn, repeat.

Where do you guys find LRSs these days?

Found a damaged one in the house that has the big storage room with the shelving units along the walls like a garage.

    My Army Tent

The big tent to pack it up you wear it as a backpack but you're limited to what fits in your shoulder slots (gun melee) and pockets.

    My Army Tent

I've taken the don't get attached to your loot to heart. The funny thing was it was right after the .55 hotfix back to .54 loot and in 3 hours I had a three tent camp, a truck, a weeks worth of canned goods, multiple full sets of gorka (helmets and all) and an SKS with over 100 rds.

    My Army Tent

Found 2 in the tent city officer's barracks and one in the nwaf one on the now defunct private I was playing on.

    so much for the struggle

Can you quote what was in the images, they're not showing? **edit, thanks Caboose** I don't really care how many left it's not like they quit video games all together, this game wasn't their cup of tea. The bonus is BI already has their money to make the game they set out to I hope. I don't get why this is so hard to understand that there are thousands of video games, why do they all have to fit the mold? I played for 5 hours last night walking/sneaking (average speed 2kmh) just enjoying the scenery and the few surprises the silent zeds gave me and enjoyed every second of it. I personally find running around finding easy loot and pew-pewing tedious and boring. I'm a one game at a time player and the last on I was in love with changed so I withdrew my support, simple. This one is a cheap to see if it goes "my way" in comparison I spent over $300 on the collectors edition box set and 9 months of subs and left reasonably quietly when it went B2P+premium to appease the "majority" and console pesants.

Last time I checked majority meant more than half. There's other factors such as gtaV as well.

    "My stomach grumbled violently"

I'm not sure if it did or still does but I've seen videos claiming by moving stuff a certain distance from its spawn you can trigger or continue a loot puke area. In .54 I was on a persistent public server and it seemed to me if I "took out the trash" by bagging it and moving it a kilometer away or to a non persistent server it caused new stuff to spawn.

    so much for the struggle

Wow, don't speak for me buddy. I'm getting every penny out of taking hours to get around and securing my survival. I put some pizza pops in the microwave at 1730 yesterday and logged in and got to work on building my base camp on a new server. I got a nice pile of bags full of goodies central to some towns and an airfield and remembered I was hungry IRL. I wondered why my pizza pops were cold still and looked at the microwave clock 2115, I'd say the game successfully killed over 3 hours of my no kids/wife night which is exactly what I look for in a game.

Don't sprit unless you have to you move a little slower but make it farther.

What's the fascination with having pristine clothes?

I tried my SKS on some 1/4" steel plate a few years ago and no vest, anything in your backpack or even hiding behind a shipping container is going to stop a 7.62X39mm steelcore. I was shooting through 24-36" of fir boards depending if the bullet rolled on it's way through. Most vest will only stop pistol bullets and you're still getting bruised or broken ribs.

    Chernarus needs better rail cars

Or a V3S with a fifth wheel hitch and a trailer. Seriously I never played ArmA but I believe the game is still using map objects such as allot of the generic houses, wrecked vehicles, the containers right? The window dressing stuff is not a priority yet.

I don't care if the loot system wasn't 100% ready

I only play on persistent servers, more private than public lately and believe some of them were broken but some of them were just harder like they were supposed to be. The "majority" is most likely partially the players experiencing broken servers and allot of players who are big fucking crybabies who want this game to be like something they're used to. All sides have every right to voice their opinion but the bulk of the players who just quietly left over .55 were going to do so over a million different reasons and don't weigh in on what DayZ will, should, could be. I've got a pretty polar opinion how I think things should go and voicing it. I'm getting used to seeing regulars chime in one way or the other here and it's looking about 50/50 to me. The surge that quietly left are in all likelihood offset by about the same number who quietly kept playing. I don't have any data to prove either way so I' only going to use the word majority mockingly.

I don't care if the loot system wasn't 100% ready

The .54 system we're back to isn't a whole lot better either though. I started on a new private server last night and got one of the spawns near the wrecked ship. The ship got me clothed and a good backpack, found nothing but 3 pairs of ruined shoes at a police car in the parking lot by black lake, nothing at black lake lodge, picked apples near death at the outskirts of Olsha to get neutral stats. I started exploring the town and north of the well the loot spawns are puking food and other useful stuff.

Don't be sorry. Feel sorry, maybe a little depressed that this is how the world works more and more with every generation.

    choppers or bicycles ?

Really for a post apocalyptic survival simulator a wheelbarrow makes more sense than a chopper. I'm pretty sure it a game engine limitation deciding which comes first.

    choppers or bicycles ?

Having seen some weird behavior and changes in the traction of the v3s this makes allot of sense. I'd love to see a 125cc enduro of some sort, my all purpose vehicle of choice IRL. The either slippery or stuck like glue traction on the ground regardless of what the surface looks like makes me believe a helicopter would be easier to implement first.
