Started at least six times in both versions of .55 and not starved once. Neither have my kids as young as nine years old. Get off the coast and l2p.

How old is your computer? Mines pushing 7 years old and got an x2 CPU out of a water damaged swap meet tower and put win 7 on it. Classic cars and motorbikes are cool but xp isn't going to appreciate in value no matter how long you keep it.
-
I pointed that out awhile back and someone suggested solar backup. Really those lights would be all you need to get down to where your landing lights could see the numbers and land. I forget where but I saw some lights on a tower I think that had what appeared to be solar cells on the top of the housing as well.

Do you guys thing this might be a balance thing? As far as realism or plausibility why in the hell can't you throw your backpack in front of you while laying prone and not only lower your profile, provide some protection from rocks and debris "splashing" you if someone shoots at you and misses, and use it as a rest. I could totally see someone in Chenarus with no running water, an outside toilet, yet a PC in their house ordering gun accessories of Amazon though because... hillbillies.
-
Pretty much, last house on the road in a "high end" sub division but they let us hillbillies get away with murder because we kill the garbage eating bears and have the tractor that plows their drive ways and get their crossovers out of the ditch on the 2 snow days a year. Three generations living together in a big house in a big yard doing cool shit like watching papa int the shop making new furniture for his new old gun while junior and I are working on our bikes in the driveway. Wouldn't trade it for all the MB/s in the world.

You guys are killing me... I'm super stoked when the weather is good and I get a ping under 600 on my satellite, my cell gets 150-200 but shreds my 2g cap in four weekdays or one and a half days on a good weekend. I have my own personal motorcross track in my yard and never hear emergency vehicle sirens in the middle of the night though.

Junior and I still try to be nice too.. The FOV the four Walmart TVs were playing on give us more than make up for the benefit of the doubt these DayZ. The A-hole at Balota atc that one punched junior and Porkchop that did it our way will attest to that.

Had allot to drink this evening and can't see small buttons. Got home to my 3X32" screens and beans are easy to give! -
Was it considering the amount of real ones mothballed that they're happy to sell us westerners?

Can't give beens on my mobile but I see what you did there and had a nice inside laugh. Looking forward to starting fresh with new stuff to look for. -
Really there is consequences, I will not pick up hitch hikers anymore. If I don't know what you're all about outside game junior and I will let you go the opposite way were going and that's it. I'd like to make friends/allies but the log on for an hour and peeveepee crowd are playing the wrong game and think it should change to suit them.

Yep, Russia refurbed obsolete guns dipped them in a foul smelling grease called cosmline an warehoused them just in case. Any that they could export and sell to sportsmen or whoever they have been cashing them in for 30 or so years. I got a sweet SKS and an 880 round sardine can of 1970s ammo for a little over two hundred bucks a few years ago.

Yes my kids and would be on the top of the hill. Even though we're a blended family we don't have enough genetic diversity to repopulate the planet so I don't see it as beneficial to kill every human who isn't kin.
-
My kids range in age from 21-9, even my 12year old daughter is am exe lent marksman. If anything they'd help take care of me.

If it ends up stuck in a tree after a reset which happened to us the other day before you get in stand a safe distance up hill and shoot it in the door or cab somewhere and it will violently pop out.
-
In an Apocalypse if you only value your own life which has an expiry date doesn't civilization end with you then? I have children know my name and ancestral wisdom will live on, I can't see approaching something like the end of world as a king of the hill competition although some would.

I still get what he's saying about trusting strangers met in game though. The two I've given a chance solo recognized I had the upper hand at first and just waited for a weak moment to jack me and then meet up with their real friends.
-
Saw one at Dolina the other day but last time I passed through it was 2 girl zombies and the usual guy one. Think it's just random which zombie model spawns on a reset.
-
Couple days to a week or two. I play 4+hrs a day on week days and 12+ on weekends though. I'm not crying or anything but I do like to "get into" a character for a bit.
-
I've had 3-5 "good" private servers and every time I get a home set up and get myself set I find out the owner hasn't paid his bill and it goes dark.

Yes, teamwork and Dayz do mix. I learned the mechanics and map playing by myself and it was fun, slow but fun, it also led to some disappointing deaths and I believe the sense of despair one would feel being truly alone. I started playing with my 15 year old son recently and it's been a great gaming experience, I was stiving to be a neutral player by myself and that was damn near impossible. We've had two interactions as a two man team so far and out of the four people total involved three of them went on with their day both of us, both times. First guy at Balota ATC got chased in by a zombie while I tried to get a shot on the zombie and failed, he meleed it and bandaged inside. We kept our guns up but told him we're not going to shoot if he doesn't give us a reason, we have nothing to offer though. His mic or whatever was quiet and staticy and he was impossible to understand but I left him on the second floor with junior to go down and close the front door. Of course he punched out junior and tried to turn my son's blaze on me, bad move on his part he got headshotted and delivered us 20 more blaze rounds in the process. Second guy logged in in a house just as junior was going to enter last night, we calmed and reassured him from the bottom of the stairs. Determined he was going east, we were going west, wished each other luck and life went on. That one was the one that stuck out though the tone of his voice changed when I said "there's two of us, I'm not putting my gun away because I'm double carrying". Although I'm sitting in the same room at home as my teammate with a good view of his 46" screen as well as mine I don't agree with or like the "clans" on TS in packs of 3 or more roaming and killing everyone just because they can. Like I told junior last night it takes a bigger man not to kill someone given the chance.

An awesome "how to" for current truck behavior. You mentioned the thing with disconnects... The truck stays where it was at serverside disconnect but you respawn where your feet last touched the ground. If it's on your end like your internet goes down or you unplug your modem you will spawn beside the truck where it occurred.

I think as the game matures so will the playerbase and we'll start to see things like a medic being valid and areas accessible yet secured by "factions" I hope. I was playing privates but I'm on satellite internet with a perpetually high ping limiting my choices to ones that were "on their way out" it seemed. I played on a "broken" one in the first release of .55 and actually loved it taking 2 days (I play 4+ hours a day) to get rid of hungry/thirsty and find a gun and appropriate bullets. Junior and I have been invited to a 1pp public that seems worth making a home on and have had a rollercoaster of struggling to survive and one heart pounding "interaction" so far. The last 2 days moving along the south coast has been what I want to see from this game.

I think my post could have been taken as complaining as well and I'm not. I just don't get how killing someone who isn't even close to a threat is fun. I'm now playing with my son and in all likelihood put in that position I would have to arm my children and take them out to forage and scavenge for the family's survival. The people you met would be just as likely to be an asset and bottom line if you run around in an apocalypse killing everyone you'll ensure mankind's demise. I don't specifically roleplay but the game has a motif built in why not use it instead of making another game within a game seeing as how there are so many "start off geared and kill" games already made.
-
That like the four geared guys who watched me take down three zeds with a fire axe then zipped me with their m4s at range as I was transitioning to hands up. One bragging about how he shot me right in the mouth, good kill guys. I bet that made them feel like they accomplished something.
