I'm no computer teacher/expert had one since the late 80s and some stuff is second nature, I just google the rest. I always click "show processes from all users" on the process tab. Right click the offending process, end process. The one that was getting me doesn't show a whole lot of memory used but I see a marked drop in cpu usage when it closes. Not a computer expert, if you break something you're on your own.

Satellite with a 70gig/month data cap, the twenty small acreages in my neighborhood aren't worth the phone or cable running the cable to support broadband. 4 kids with tablets and smartphones, game updates, and netflix as our only source of TV shred a reasonably priced 10-20gig plan and I was paying more in overages.

Saw a tweet from Brian or Eugene not sure, either way vaguely they weren't happy with it. I had a bit of fun with them at first and then just stayed away from anywhere there was infected. I did get sent back to the coast by a real nice guy and as I was sprinting through the docks at Svetlo my fps took a kick in the guts way worse than that town usually causes. Not sure if it was performance they didn't like or what I saw in the videos of the hoards looking like extras in the MJ thriller video all in sync like they were choreographed.

What exactly is the 30 minute timer? Does unwanted loot despawn and something from the the areas list respawn?

If it's the guard house with the barred windows and all the stuff on the porch they're fixed in experimental by spawning nothing at all.

Standalone has some glitches minor to major, some stuff just plain not done yet but it's coming along nicely as far as I'm concerned. If they stick to the road map for development it's going to be a time intensive long game not an instant gratification shooter like depicted in a lot of the youtube videos. I'm playing because I like the long tedious games with consequences, have an interest in the development, and want to fully understand all the features and mechanics by the time it gets to release.

I'm running an AMD approximate equivalent with 4 gigs of ram, you didn't say what vid card you have but I have a gtx650ti 2gig and I get low teens to low twenties for fps playing ArmA2 multiplayer on our home network. You might be like me and used to old computers and mediocre performance and still be able to have fun anyway. Not sure where you live but around here you can get upgrades for older computers on the cheap in the local online classifieds or off ebay. Your local small computer store might have some ram cheap as well.

Or just get rid of public servers all together, the only fear I have in hot zones is some asshole ghosting in and out of the same barracks building or whatever from server to server looking for one thing without walking like people who only play on 1 "home" server. For example I loot long barracks from back to front shutting the door when I enter how does it make any sense that if the door is still closed someone could get behind me in a building I've cleared room by room. I know hoppers can/will make all kinds of excuses why not so I'll go back to privates when a good build gets on stable.

Not sure if any of you are using nvidia cards but there's a process for syncing the shield tablet (I believe) called something like nvsnc or nvsvc or something like that. I had it disabled but an update a few months ago turned it back on. It was causing walk a short distance freeze, repeat in DayZ and ArmA2 especially noticeable on on older machines. I kill it in task manager when I boot up my computer and the game plays fine on my machine that barely makes the minimum requirements.

I actually don't really care but it'd be funny if you did. <-900th post most of them productive.

You've already said too much, get rid of it now before you get banned.

Don't trust this guy, throw it in the ocean immediately or be labeled a haxor forever.

Why are there no basements and caves in DayZ?
BCBasher replied to cptavpr0metheus's topic in General Discussion
I lol'd about that comment too. It's not just Americans unfortunately, it's like someone(s) in charge is trying to produce a mass of uneducated inept people who cant put their shoes on without a government issued procedure. Outside the poorest undeveloped places in South/Central America, Africa, and Asia they use "sanitary sewers" although if you've ever been somewhere like say rural/suburban Mexico they do not use double walled sealed ones everywhere hence the aroma walking past a manhole cover on a hot day. -

No it most certainly wasn't. They were cast iron manhole covers on a slightly conical concrete protruding pipe. About 3-4 feet across and 10-12 inches above the ground. The pointy hill monument is 8-10 feet across and has a saying saying what it it. -

Never bothered to figure out where I actually was but on the uphill side of one of the larger towns inland there was 2-3 manhole cover in the fields on the outskirts. Any thing like that I've seen IRL drops down in to an 8+ foot pipe going horizontal or at least a decent sized rectangular junction box. -
Lol, yes. Just outside chemainus.

I wasn't necessarily disagreeing with you and other games do cap the rof on semis, they might not have implemented it yet being this game isn't done yet. No one is going to effectively get the theoretical max of the guns action but a a cap of 300rpm would be reasonable. Next time I have my hands on one in game I'll make a no pauses macro on my keyboard just to see the what the sks can do currently not that I think it would be effective with the small cap mag and muzzle climb. Your original suggestion of .25sec delay or 4rds/sec 240rd/min isn't that far off the average rapid fire examples with a proper shooting stance really.

Gross, gimme your address and I'll send you the the tin of the shit that came in the cleaning kit and pouches for the stripper clips, lol. I love the cheap sardine cans of ammo that go on sale for them, I just wanted something for plinking and a .22 AR clone was $400+ but got my SKS and 880rds for under $300.

Wow, that guy is brave/stupid with the violent vertical ejection of spent shells. I tried burst firing mine under the tin awning at the range and got pelted in the head by the shell ricocheting off the ceiling.
-
Found this, it starts "bump"firing after the 1st shot. http://youtu.be/yxdYg_JkB-A?t=3m20s

When I got my SKS I took it out to the shop and spent hours getting the Cosmoline (nasty smelling storage grease) out of all the nooks and crannies. I soaked the trigger group in solvent then dry graphite lubed it making it work silky smooth. Granted mine is pinned at 5rd as per Canadian restrictions but if I hold my trigger hand and finger loose I can get it to bump fire, a trick that works on blowback paintball guns to get simulated auto fire. I don't know where it is but I have video of it firing 7rds (my mag is loose and one round chambered I can cheat) in under 2 seconds, roughly 200-300rpm. You are wrong about it being able to be converted to a true full auto though, that's why we can get them here. It has a very complicated trigger group that can not be converted to full auto with modification or parts substitution and is difficult/dangerous to disassemble or modify without special tools and knowledge. The trigger group is modular though and I'm sure someone out there has made a new one with full auto but that's something that would get you some actual jail time here.

I win, lol. http://e-speedtest.com/test/806984 Pay like $170 a month because it the only choice where I am with over data cap over 10gig,
-
Just going out on a limb here because that looks worse than mine and I barely make the minimum requirements. There's a setting in you video for sub/super sampling, I forget what it's called but the selections are percentages 50%, 75%, 100% etc. If I set mine less than 100% the game look blurry and there's no noticeable performance gain having it under 100% as far as I can tell.

I always get kick out of your posts Rick. I actually worked in rigging manufacture and safety with a specialization helicopter cranes in up until a few months ago, you'd be someone who wouldn't ask "what's it like working on an oil rig?" when I told them I do rigging. Fucking stressful balancing quality control and trying to make a buck at the same time, had to take a break for moral objections to how it was being handled and the homicidal feeling I was having towards the boss and bean counters.

This would get you the cutoff short wearing beer drinking chicks around here as they're required to bypass gates to the good spots on the river this time of year. The compact SUVs can fit through places fullsize trucks can't and you can have more fun for less money with the ridiculous fuel prices these days. Ladas aren't common but but Suzukis are quite sought after here I see lots of them as daily drivers.
