I've heard that before. Even if they are they're broken, they'll be reset numerous times until they get them dialed into what a core player feels is meaningful progression.

Ha, I almost had that with junior at the Balota atc once. We saw some random running to the tower getting chased by an infected and couldn't get a shot on the zombie to save him before he go too close and meleed it him self. He comes in and is acting somewhat friendly but his mic is horrible, thinking that was on purpose in hindsight. We're all upstairs trying to communicate with him when I say over in game I'm going downstairs to close the door. Junior and I are in the same room at home so I hear him yell the dude knocked him out. I move up the stairwell enough to see the randoms head and dump my blaze into it and he drops so I back down a bit to reload before I go up to make sure he's dead. As I go back up I'm just about to blast the guy as junior says what the hell he switched out my gear, junior woke up wearing the randoms coat and bag and looked just like him... Good times.

Sorry I just quoted the last post in the thread, I was referring to these daily suggestion threads about the window dressing and polish that seem confused about why stuff isn't there or think they thought of it first. I'v been or been around building stuff my whole life and if it seems like something should be there and it isn't it's probably on the list and just not the right time logistically to have it in yet.

The upside is I'm closer to 40 than 30 and still rocking a sixpack like I was eighteen, the downside is I feel closer to 100 most days.

In a lot of real life cases they also compensate for being able to attach or otherwise deploy your bayonet by making you unable to do so. My SKS is a Russian made one with a Norinco compensator adapted with a split ring my dad made on the lathe for the stepped barrel the Norinco pattern rifles deleted to speed manufacture. It compensates for being able to fold my mirror polished bayonet 180 degrees making it a useless piece of bling stuck in it's folded position tastefully accenting the matching polished bolt.

I usually only eat twice every 24 hours in real life and fairly regularly even skip a day but I don't think the game should quite mimic real life for balance and accelerated time reasons. I do think that caught fish, hunted animals, and gardened vegetables should be a bigger filler than found food for balance sake because of the associated risks, supplies and time they take to gather.

In real life yes that's the idea, direct gasses up and or back to reduce climb and or straight back recoil by directing energy that would otherwise be wasted. In game unless anything has change it lowers the dispersion of every shot from first to last individually. Made up numbers for examples here but it's how it works, say the gun has a base dispersion of 10 the stock gun will use the RNG to land the shot within a 10 unit radius of the point of aim, attach the compesator and the dispersion gets reduced to say 6 so the shots will land randomly within a 6 unit radius. It should also reduce the RNG amount the gun is thrown off your aim point due to simulated recoil after the shot in some way but that's of minor benefit with bolt actions, the mp5 for example would benefit from that part.

Set it to16:10 and it should record in the quality you are seeing it at.

So acorrding to google it's 2560X1600px that's the best you'll ever see it on that screen. You may be able to set your game at say 5120X3200px and record it so someone with a display that has more pixels can see it better than you. Not sure what the point would be aside maybe editing it doing pan and scan to focus on action and a bigger file size for your video, 1600 pixels tall is pretty crispy if you're just going to record and upload.

I'm running old junk so someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think you should be able to record higher resolution than your display can possibly show at the same ratio if it doesn't impact your games performance. Is your screen hot shit like 4k or is it a cheapo 720 tv like I use?

Isn't that the kind of window dressing that isn't worth doing until the new render and optimizing a finished map come in? I'm no game development expert but I just assume allot of the nuance things are not there because because they'd be wasted resources doing before beta.

Did you transpose the number in your third paragraph? 10:16 would be a 16:10 display turned 90° to display say legal sized forms on a full screen without scrolling, screen ratios are (width):(height). You want your ratios to match or else you get the funhouse mirror effect with things being stretched.

At the wrecked bus on the south east point of the map across from Skalatisy Island as well. Junior and I might swing by the northern military base tonite will look and see of the one in the pit is still there, he hasn't seen that yet.

Being a big big fan of the last two Fallout games I'm seeing allot cool immersive ideas here. Looking at the satellite map of the layout of the unfinished nato base I don't know if it's wishful thinking or not but it looks like it has some strange purpose being so long and narrow. If it was a plain FOB or something like that it should be square to give a buffer from incoming short range rockets and such with the high value targets in the center. I've seen the preliminary zone map the devs have but with a limited range the op's suggestion could make a cool 5th zone and could work well with the planned player/map progression. You can add me on tho the list of people who want some end game that forces group play either established or impromptu even temporary as the only way to achieve bigger goals. I could see this all working well letting "bandits" be a good part of the game enjoying their single serving play in coastal areas and the airfields and giving goal oriented players a reason to diverge and push on farther after running the gauntlet to zone 4. I don't play in a clan but do play with my kids, I currently have 2 accounts and now 3 DayZ capable computers, wifey doesn't know I plan three steps ahead and only wanted to get the kids off her laptop until I can get a 3rd copy of the game. They don't know it but they're being taught how to work as a productive part of a team and anything to force them to follow a plan without coming up with solo oriented "better ideas" would be much appreciated on my end.

I think someone else said lan, so yeah. I look over my left shoulder and I can see juniors screen ten feet away he looks over his and can see mine, we don't even have to raise our voices to talk across the map and no software can block sound in my living/game room.

I have 4 kids and their friends at my house at any given time, I turn up DayZ to block out that charming banter. I definitely don't want to listen to an amplified sqeee! enhanced version while I'm enjoying time in my "happy place".

Just did the conversion on that and you paid $10 Canadian dollars less than I did. Just because your country's currency has higher numbers doesn't mean anything. Sorry you live in a developing country with lower wage standards but if you're complaining about how expensive video games are maybe you need to adjust your priorities or get a better job?

I'm running an old socket am2 X2 Athlon and a gtx650ti and getting the same performance, like was already said up your gfx settings and get some load off the cpu onto the gfx card.

And allot of those whiners think $30 is a whole damn lot of money, news flash I turn thirty bucks into piss by 10pm most Saturdays and I'm just getting started. Even if they said fuck it tomorrow and scrapped the game I've got way more than the $60 worth of fun out of the 2 copies I bought already.

Careful with the lowest gfx settings, I'm now playing it on 2 ancient computers the 2006-07ish desk top with a gtx650ti actually does a bit better with some stuff turned up a bit to move load off the cpu on to the vid card. The old laptop for the kids is just shit no matter what but they're just happy they can play.

I got a older HP laptop from my brother that was all virused up for the kids to play on so they'd leave my wife's alone. I formatted and reinstalled a fresh copy of Windows 7 on it and it'll play DayZ alright for 10-45min before it seems to go into sleep mode. I've updated all the drivers and such as best I could and everything seems fine, it'll sit there all day idling in windows. When plugged in the screensaver and power management are disabled or on high performance. The only weird thing I noticed is obviously the battery is pooched so it always stays plugged in but the power icon in the task bar always says 77% charged, plugged in, not charging and if you unplug it, it shuts down immediately. Anyone else tried this or seen this problem?

Pulled the bottom hatch and left it off, dusted it out, put double stacked felt furniture pads to lift it a half inch off the desk and just did a 3 hour session no problem. Found the sweet spot in the settings to get it playable so the kids are happy and the wife is happy. Did all the trouble shooting I could find for the battery and think it's toast but as we'll be leaving it plugged in it's fine.
