My internet sucks to start with and have a home network with 4 other PCs and a bunch of smartphones and tablets, no one but me uses my computer and it always works fine. When I start having more connection problems than normal I go through all the devices the kids and wife use one by one and usually find the problem there.

The duration of a stable build is supposed to be persistent but there's about 100% chance they'll do a wipe when they release .59, any thing hoarded now will be lost when it comes out soon.

No and no. Some servers have reset persistence for various reasons, not sure if it was just private or if public were affected but generally persistence is supposed to work regardless of restarts or maintenance.

I payed close to $50 cdn and got more than my monies worth without even using it for DayZ mod, YMMV.

That building was changed to destroyed and had it's loot spawns removed before the static vehicles and the "camo" prison building stopped spawning loot. I think it was intentional to change the natural player migration for whatever scheme they have for the CLE.

I could be wrong but think you should pack it and set it up again to be safer. The reason they set the 45 day persistence on them was because they said "there's no easy way to refresh their persistence" or something very close to that without really explaining the exact conditions needed to refresh them and I don't think we were planned to go more than a month without an update at the time.

Cool tip, didn't know that one. I use canned goods the same way and recently found you can put a full pumpkin on a stick and heat it repeatedly without damaging it not only being able to carry a whole pumpkin on your back with the stick slot but also use it as a personal heater. You can do any of these thing before you get in the water and you will not loose as much heat to start with and be able to hit the beach running and put off warming up instead of having to do it out in the open.

Gonna have to agree with Rags. I'm not into kos personally but my most memorable moment in game was at NWAF on an almost empty server just wrapping up some uneventful looting very fresh to the game, black screen "you are unconscious" a few seconds later I see ankles and black screen again "you are dead". No Idea what happened exactly but I slumped in my chair with a all kinds of feelings and my imagination just went wild, can't help but feel like that's very representative of how those situations go down.

I didn't for my firs couple hundred hours but no I use a map app on my phone or tablet called iZurvive, less by myself as I have most of the map memorized but it's awesome if I need to meet one of my kids as a fresh spawn or cover long distances without land marks and roads. It's nice because you can plot a path giving the exact bearing and approximate jog/sprint time that with the ingame compass and IRL stopwatch can do very accurate navigation through the woods, at night, whatever. I carry also 2-4 canteens or water bottles because my avoidance playstyle, currently filling at and drinking from ponds has an extremely slim chance of making you sick as long as you are healthy to start with so I do that over wells. I like Gary's see them first philosophy but have had it bite me when I announce myself and declare my non threatening intentions, see and be unseen is the safest with equally or better geared players in recent patches.

I could be wrong but I want to say there was a duping glitch with restraining someone while logging/logged out and that's the consequence of the fix for it. Or like Dick said if the body slides up against things.

Yep, something I could never grasp in real life until I learned to do it in DayZ. The sun works too, got my 10 year old son to run 20 minutes through the woods and run smack into me by him heading straight for it and me chasing my shadow.

Needless to say, if everything works out - I'm pretty pumped about it." As close to a confirmation as you can get but I smell a bit of an exit strategy in the wording. Fingers crossed.

It's funny that both polls have a big "majority" for 1pp even though server stats show otherwise. I find 3pp disorienting and disconnected, 5:4, 16:9, etc 1pp is lacking in peripheral vision so I play at 16:3 1pp and will never go back.

They are very difficult almost impossible to completely destroy right now, most cases they persist but are righted if flipped, fully repaired and refueled at a reset and strangely pointing north east. Noting their direction can be a good indicator that their fuel tank is full and someone didn't just get out and may be in the area. If you do manage to destroy one which I've only managed by getting one stuck in terrain under water and it still took 2-3 resets for it to despawn they respawn where they were originally spawned. There's currently only 15 fixed spawns where they start at when the servers are wiped although unless your on a server that's had it's persistence wiped they're all gonna be moved from their spawned location and hidden or abandoned.

That's first sentence is kind of the opposite of my experience, your videos, and what my dad taught me suggest. Back when I was poor I used to run the oil (kerosene) furnace on diesel and strained cooking oil though, potatoes are cheap, canola oil is cheap etc. and it worked at the expense of jets which I had a good supply of being a janitor at the local bulk fuel distributor. Gas engines however will run on a fairly high percentage of alcohol/petrol ratio at the expense of rubber parts not intended for it according to the older yard found motorbikes and gas powertools eating, seals, o rings and fuel lines when exposed to newer gas containing ethanol. There's something to do with octane/compression ratio leading to detonation with too high a ratio as well afik. Not disagreeing with you entirely as I'm kind of a SHTF nut and would be cooking shine with the local pulp mill plumbing to kill the pain and keep gasers running for a bit longer but I don't think diesels would like it. Hopefully in the months/years after they'd be kept running with animal fat and other oils for the long term if going back to stem wasn't a more practical option. Your posts are always a good read though.
