GREAT IDEA, but what about the people I need to help?
-
I haven't played DayZ in a year or more, but..
I have had this video idea for a couple years now and really want to give it a go. I would need 5 to 8 guys who are able to help collect items and get the video set up. I am willing to paypal some cash to make it more appealing for the prep work of finding items for certain outfits and whomever is able to help make a cool video. I will do all I can to assist in finding items but if anyone is down to help that would be amazing. In most scenes, I only need 2 to 3 people, but in one scene I will need all 8. Is this the right place to ask for this? If not, can anyone point me in the right direction? Maybe a discord for more players and such?
Thanks!

Done a lot of searching this week with no sign of them. I'm assuming at this point they must be in heli crashes only.

I think you guys misread my post. I mentioned I had an svd and was willing to trade but did not have any mags to accompany it at the time. I was not looking for them because they are in steady supply.
I am looking for plate carrier attachments. Preferably just the holster but the pouches are welcomed as well. I've looted everywhere except pavlovo multiple times over the past few days without seeing one holster or one pouch.
I'm going crazy.

Now that I think of it.. i've been through tisy twice now and have not seen them. They used to spawn in containers a couple patches ago if i recall correctly. Where have you seen them? Any pattern? I must just have lousy luck with them, heh.

edit - svd vanished when i set it down somehow.. 😞
I would like holsters and pouches for the plate carrier. I am willing to trade an svd. No mags or ammo for it yet as I just looted it from a crash site. Otherwise, can anyone tell me where to find them?

Best post I've ever read on here. Absolutely perfect. Eno and I play this game a lot, but we can still poke fun at all the known frustrations of this game. I just cannot believe that they decided to come out of early access with the current state of the game and to leave out an enormous amount of stuff that they promised us would be put in once the player controller was implemented. It's actually quite comical and absolutely ridiculous to think of their discussions leading up to the moment of release. I figured that they would acknowledge the issues and work "around the clock" to get a fix out to remedy their mistakes. However, all we got was "we are working on a long term fix..".
With that said, the combat in DayZ is the best I've ever played and it is extremely exciting to know so much is on the line when you are fully geared. No other game compares. So I will continue to wait anxiously for updates.

They should be required to set a release date, and they should be required to specify the features that consider the game to be complete. If they cannot live up to either the deadline or the features specified, all consumers who request a refund on the set release date should get one - if the title does not live up to the specification on that date.
That's how alpha should work. The consumer should not have to invest in developers, and not be guaranteed a final game. I want to support development of good titles, but no developer is delivering today - so, instead I refund most alpha games I buy, if they don't provide a good player experience already during alpha. It's not my fault developers today are exploiting the market.
Again, you do not understand the point of an alpha. Its similar to a kickstarter. If you do not agree with it, stick to buying finished games. Your reply stated nothing of any substance because you only have an opinion; you do not understand game development on any level, and therefore, should stick to buying finished games. The people that want to be involved in an alpha, and help with a games progress, are the ones who should buy it.

Valve knows a lot of alpha releases are just milking cows for people/companies that love to exploit teenagers and their parents wallets, so most of the refunds are approved. They changed the 2 hour grace period of refunds to something similar to "no excessive game time or usage", so unless you played like 10 hours straight or kept the copy for a few days, it generally is approved.
I hate today's culture of alpha titles, it's disgusting how people let companies exploit them. Buying an alpha title and not refunding is basically telling them "hey, please let me buy your unfinished product without you having to guarantee anything". Look at PUBG, Raft, No Mans Sky, HZ, and all other alpha games. It's impressive how Valve, even though they make a lot of money out of it, allows their Steam platform take a big hit in both quality control and reputation.
I've got no hard feelings towards DayZ, it was the first alpha game I ever bought back on the very release day on Steam. This game has still given me value and I wouldn't refund it for anything. I however regret spending money on all other alpha titles. They are disgusting, and they only offered early alpha access because DayZ did, they saw how exploitable the market was. BI and DayZ though, they have earned their share of the money. None of the others did.
Everyone should refund alpha games. Play it a few hours and then refund, let the producers know that it's unacceptable to milk the market only to never live up to any expectations. A big practical example of this is PUBG, it's a complete mess and they never fixed anything important, because they couldn't - netcode being one of the biggest issues to date and it never got any love.
OP: I don't think you'll get a refund, factors like time owned and played are considered and you most likely owned it way past the refund window.
Maybe you should stick to buying finished games because it sounds like you do not understand the point of an alpha.

we all have bad days here and there.
This.

While I do enjoy 3pp (because I like to look at my character), and I do know friends who only like 3pp, I would hate to see it go. But 1pp feels sooooooo much more immersive. Love it.

Extremely well done. I normally stop watching most videos part or half way through. Not this one. I also subscribed.

Aside from the things pointed out by others, I am actually impressed with the character movement and changes. I have been very disappointed with the speed and most updates like everyone else but this video gives me some hope. I still think the graphic overhaul of .62 was not what I expected. I was expecting lush/thick forests and all we got was some swaying trees and bushes. Fingers crossed.

Very cool. Thanks for the video!

I'm extremely surprised you agreed to meet up with him. Great story.

Also, will radio stations and walkie talkies ever work in tandem?
You can do this already. Awhile back I logged on to our server and saw my buddy near our camp. I ran up to him and started talking but realized he was AFK. I found two radios, put them on the same frequency and placed one near a tree (next to the truck he left) and I hid in a pine tree nearby. When he came back and started moving around I yelled through the radio in a deep voice commanding him to put his hands up. He got in the truck and took off, lol.

Comments like this make no sense to me. If you dislike this game then go play the other fucking game and stop acting like you're better than everyone else or that you are the first to discover that development is slower than expected. Most people in this thread still enjoy the game for what it is and are anxious for what is to come. Yes, every single person here already knows what the development pace is, so what you are saying is nothing new. I took a few month hiatus until .61 came out myself. Bye.

This looks awesome.

Very well done. The cloud movements made me lol at some parts.

How did you expect to play Russian Roulette with an fnx? Do you understand how it works?

Any large clans still playing and able to help with a video?

I sent this request over a year and a half ago, but I want to create a video and need the help of roughly 2-3 others for 90% of it. At the end i'll need probably 8 or more for the end scene (can probably use less with camera tricks). This idea has been playing in my head for years now and I still have the urge to make it. Anyone able to help out?
