No message received, then can't find servers I was just on in list. What gives
GaryWalnuts replied to redmantab's topic in General Discussion
I'd guess most times it probably is a server restart but something on your own end (like accidentally unplugging your network cable or your own router is acting up) could give the same message. I think "no message received" is just a generic network disconnection. -
last week I bled out while frantically searching for something to shred into bandages...

Storage information - Stockpiling time frame?

Think of it like farming, you just have to plant ammunition seeds and wait for them to grow ;D -
Storage information - Stockpiling time frame?
GaryWalnuts replied to sneakydude's topic in General Discussion
In my experience (in experimental) it's absolutely possible. I've been "living" in Tisy through the experimental patches. When one of the last patches first dropped there was no character wipe and so I was looting the area within minutes. I think in that first loop I found 4 m4's, an SVD, various AKs and so much 5.56 and mags I couldn't carry it all. There were mil tents around so I stockpiled some m4's for the usual experimental suspects. I can quick-loot the whole area, radio tower to firing range, in about 20 minutes but if I loot-cycled every item it might take 30 - which is just enough time to fill up the tent and go back to the starting point. -
I've found two SVD's both in Tisy this week on Experimental, one in the back room of a bunker and the other in the tent section. I've done a lot of loops through there, as I seem to "live" there now among the wolves and their infected food source, so I would not expect to find an SVD on my first loop through - but they are there. According to my scientifically indisputable calculations I'd say you have a one-in-ten chance of finding one if you search everything from the radio station to the northern guard shack.

Even though your intentions seem good, in the future you should provide any cheat related info in a private message to the moderators here. Try messaging @Baty Alquawen she's in charge of Community Support here.

About tents full of gear (private or public) and loot to find on map
GaryWalnuts replied to purpple's topic in General Discussion
I don't believe that loot that has been moved to persistent storage contributes into the Central Loot Economy formula. AFAIK the CLE and Persistence are two completely different systems. Once an item is picked up from it's original spawn location it's gone from the CLE count completely, whether it ends up in character inventory, persistent storage or the items are discarded on the ground. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but in theory you should be able to have 100 tents filled with loot and the server will continue to spawn loot the same as an empty/unused server. -
I've heard tales of invisible zeds but never met up with one until yesterday in Tisy base. At first I thought he might be a crawler somehow stuck underground but later I saw that my hat took damage, so it must've been standing upright. I couldn't hit him because I couldn't see him, of course so I did the next best thing and locked him inside a barracks building. I heard his footsteps inside so again: he must've been standing. Legit invisi-zed confimed.

I believe it's getting some tweaking as we speak, have a look at this thread here

I think I've got it figured out barnabus - our Intel HD Graphics 4600's simply have a superiority complex. I went from 8 FPS looking out over debug to 80 FPS running around. I could've kicked myself when this worked.... Open nVidia Control Panel > Select Manage 3D Settings > Global Settings > Preferred Graphics Processor > *Select High Performance nVidia Processor > Apply > Close That's it. Worth mentioning: Before trying the above I updated both my Intel HD 4600 to 3/23/2016 v 10.18.14.4414 (which was a pain because my 2013 driver insisted that it was updated) and I downloaded and installed nVidia v.376.33 WHQL international and checked off perform clean install. So the above method might work fine without updating anything. Also worth mentioning, another change I made: In the Intel HD 4600 control panel. (Right click desktop > Graphic Properties) Under Power set to Maximum Performance. This will force nVidia to be used for most everything, the secondary display adapter (Intel HD 4600) is basically there just for laptop/low power mode/battery consumption purposes. HTH

Try switching to a different server and see if that fixes it. It's worked for me.

One of the issues that the devs are currently working on is that statuses don't always update properly. Be warned, the next time you log in everything might update all at once. You could suddenly be overheating or hypothermic, full to the point of vomiting or maybe starving - depending on what you did while your status wasn't updating. Be prepared for the worst.

Never heard of this one before but I would check over my mouse and keyboard bindings. Is it possible that your right mouse button is also bound to look down or something else that's interfering? It used to be that RMB could be bound to two things such as zoom and hold breath simultaneously. I'm not sure if that's still the case though. Maybe your spacebar is bound to both raise weapon and look down? If you're using other software for mouse/key bindings (like logitech mouse software) you might want to have a look there and make sure something isn't borking it up. Just a thought, good luck.

The guard shack and nearby tower at 010/014 (in Tisy military base) spawns VSS's frequently with a PSO 1-1 attached. The problem is finding mags and ammo, I haven't seen any.

My 32-bit runs great (about 50-90 FPS on average) but I'm getting awful frames on 64-bit, I'd say it's 5-20 FPS in most cases. So I've defaulted back to 32-bit for now. A lot of cmags/stanags with ammo are spawning in Tisy so that's probably one factor in a player's decision. Personally I really like the ACOG too. But all things being equal this patch I would keep whichever rifle I could find a suppressor for.

Another great set of pictures Tatanko, Merry Christmas!

Raincoats, Firefighters and Prisoners jackets are the only truly waterproof tops in the game right now (as far as I know) at 0% absorbency. Gorka is the best alternative to those at 5%, Gorka will protect against the hardest rains but it's not truly waterproof so it will still get a damp/wet status if you go swimming. The Hiking Jacket is 25% absorbency which is not very good compared to other options. Rider's Jacket or Bomber jacket would be better choices at 10% absorbency. It should take 10+ minutes to warm up at a fire from hypothermic levels but if you let yourself get to hypothermic level you'll be losing blood and health so you might not make it anyway. Make sure you're close enough to the fire that you see your damp/wet statuses changing and/or the "I am warming up" messages - but make sure not to get too close or you'll burn yourself and lose blood & health rapidly and make your situation even worse. You can take off your clothes to accelerate the warming up process. It skips the clothes-drying-out part of the sequence and gets right to body-temperature warming. If those few minutes are the difference between life and death then get naked and dry your clothes off later. Fireplaces might be a little bugged right now, have a look here

I've always used a single water purification tab when filling gasoline canisters with water and I haven't gotten sick from it. It might just be luck or it might be that they work to purify against residual gasoline. I can't be 100% sure but until the day I get sick from it I'm gonna say that it works.

I logged on as IMT was signing off for the night and I got to go for a drive later on. For the record the server was low-pop for most of the night, I didn't see anyone but Biohaze and Emuthreat all night. Biohaze and I met up around Ratnoe and went on foot to Kamensk Mil base then on to Stary Yar where we found a Lada. The doors were a bit glitchy for Biohaze at first but after we got that figured out the drive was very responsive all the way to Tisy. The gear indicators might be helpful to new players trying to figure out driving and the speedo was a novelty too. We got her up to about 80 kph along the northern edge of the map and drove right through a zed - so no zed clipping confirmed for now. Emu joined up in TS and he found a V3S right away and worked his way north, he mentioned he crossed the river near Grishino without a problem and I believe he switched over to a Party Bus which he eventually got stuck teetering on something - a guardrail maybe. Emu then hoofed it to Sinistok where we drove the Lada straight into town to meet him. No desync approaching Sinistok where Emu was waiting although we caught some zed aggro and had to dispatch a few when we exited the car. We weren't able to test another car within the network bubble proximity but there seems to be enough vehicles spawning to do that. I'm hopeful that the devs have that one worked out already. edit: driving in 1PP is still very loud, I had to turn down the sound effects to hear myself steer

Does Steam being down affect the server browser?
GaryWalnuts replied to Mr.Bobi's topic in General Discussion
It's definitely steam, many (maybe all of us?) are waiting it out.- 1 reply

Greenhouses are in. I believe they accelerate the growing process. I'm not sure what other benefits they have besides faster farming.

You can light a fire under some of the bigger trees too, they can keep you dry if you're desperate but it may take effort to keep the fire lit as the wind may blow it out - so keep that flare nearby.

Minimum system requirements are still listed on the Steam store as OS: Windows 7 32-bit, so I'm not so sure they could make 64-bit the default. Though there must be an easy way to modify the desktop shortcut icon to launch 64-bit.
