Tents, guns, backpacks or other items placed on the ground will wipe with a server restart, as well as v3s truck placement I believe - but your character's inventory, location and condition will remain the same through logging in/out and through server restarts.

I saw a deer yesterday for the first time in a while, in the fields between Black Mountain and Krasnostov

I haven't experienced this in .57 but I do remember a few updates back having a similar problem. The solution was a launch parameter that limited ram, you were supposed to set it 1GB below the amount of ram in your pc. Because I have 8GB ram I used -maxMem=7168 which is 7GB (8192-1024) Unfortunately, I don't know if the parameter still applies in .57 because many of the launch parameters were disabled... but it's worth a try- if it doesn't help just remove it...

on the off-topic of shoes - I've been hoping that they'd make the shoes with more variables. I know that wellies and jungle boots don't get wet and military boots will carry the combat knife. I'd like to see running shoes a bit quieter than say combat boots, but combat boots lasting much longer. Hiking boots might prevent ankle sprain from slight falls but wear out quickly on paved roads - or adding in slippers that are super-quiet but would get ruined after a 1 km run, that sort of thing

Also, there are different degrees of hydration/energized. The lesser one is dark green, the greater one is a bright green. When you find a well, drink up until you are lime green but not too much more, then top off your PETs before you leave the area. Be warned that eating or drinking too much at once can get you stuffed to the point where you can't drink because you are filled with food - or can't eat because you are filled with water. I try to eat a bit when at a well, then drink a bit, alternating so both energy and hydration restore at the same time. This way it's never too much food or too much water. Along with the bright green energized + bright green hydrated you should get a 'healthy' status (or 'healing' status if you've lost blood or otherwise require healing)

Regular use can wear down items, shoes most notably but also melee weapons and guns. Crashing in a truck or falling -if it doesn't kill you first- can ruin your shoes (and pants also I believe). edit: ninja'd (and a much better answer too!) :P

Well done!

I don't remember seeing any loose .45 at all. Your best bet might be in finding those fnx mags at guard houses or in 1911 mags, iirc they were mixed in with random car loot
-
There's a known issue repairing vests right now, hopefully it's on their fix-it list. The FNX can be found within the lootplosion of the new/enterable guard houses (I just saw one on the south side of Zelenagorsk)

I saw a cow between Altar and Gorka but he's not there anymore. He was really asking for it.
-
I didn't fix it per se but I get it out of the way. I fire one shot when I log in so it doesn't interfere when I actually need it. The amphibia error only happens once per login, not sure if that's also the case with your error.
-
It's weapon HUD related not sure which weapon but maybe that painted sawed off mosin? I've had issue with the amphibia also, similar confirmation of changes screen but the message refers to recoil animation iirc.

blocked loading of file: D:\steamlibrary\steamapps\common\dayz\dayz.exe

I know it's stating the obvious but try resetting your server filters to default and make sure you're on the 'internet' tab -
Discovering changes (not necessarily loot location), is one of the most enjoyable parts of the game to me. However I know that's not true for everybody, so if somebody asks for locations here in the forums I don't see the harm in sharing. These locations are short-lived and likely to change with the updates anyway.

I have found only two in .57 stable, both in the small garden shed shown below

how to navigate to big cities without signs/compass/map when it is day?
GaryWalnuts replied to thomas05's topic in New Player Discussion
The more you play the more things will become familiar and then you'll be able to identify your direction as North/South/East/West. Eventually you'll learn the map enough to navigate without getting lost too often. Also, once you find your heading take note of your shadow, it can help you stay on course through the wilderness without a compass. -
The new Stary Sobor evacuation camp has two tree stands guard towers inside of the fence, one is definitely spawning hunting scopes. The other place I found a few during exp .57 is the hunting stand guard tower on the southwest side of Stary Yar up north. edit after reading Odin Lowe's post below: Those were guard towers in both cases (the taller and somewhat bleached looking stand with a ladder)
-
I like persistence as I prefer having a tent, a camp and some stashes too, but survival is adaptation so I'm playing as a nomad until persistence comes back. Actually I'm enjoying the central map again as I have no base up north to habit. Maybe Ill check out the coasts again too, I normally just jog inland upon spawning.

The below texture is the one that produces the small stones to craft knives, it can be found all around the map. On several occasions it didn't work for me, whether it was desync or something else I can't be sure.

Where have all the barrels gone? Long time passing?
GaryWalnuts replied to FlimFlamm's topic in General Discussion
I've been looking as well and have yet to find one or hear of one being found. In .57 experimental they were reported to be in or around police car loot. If I hear of anything I'll report back. -
As a connoisseur of Chernarusian fish, the Nagornoe carp taste very oily but they do have a sweet antifreeze finish :P
-
I confess that's true :P , still the guide is well thought out and comprehensive, it'll help a lot of players
-
Great info here for both beginners and veterans. I vote for this to be sticky-pinned

I'd like to pre-order one Jeremiah Johnson brown bear hood.

just googled it, certsentry.dll is part of a Comodo product, probably your antivirus/firewall. The file registers itself as the default certificate revocation provider. I would first notify battleeye and see what type of response you get. There are a few hits on google about people having trouble with certsentry.dll, mostly that uninstalling doesn't unregister the .dll - but that's an easy enough fix. Did you recently install Comodo antivirus? Did you recently uninstall it? or maybe there was a recent update?
